KIT LOVE - May 2020

Hello everyone!
We are so happy to have you here as we reveal our May 2020 kits.   It seems the year has been defined as pre-covid, and what we all call, "our new normal".   I think most of us are practicing social distancing and staying home;  if you are an essential worker, then we are forever thankful for all you do to keep us alive and thriving.   However, this unprecedented times have made us realized, more than ever, the need we have to document and tell stories.

We are so excited to share with you all our new  Life Crafted kit:  JOURNEYS.    Though we are still not able to travel, we are still reminiscing of past adventures and dreaming of all the places we want to visit -once we are able to do so-.   This month's kits are always a great companion when documenting every day adventures, but the soft palette and designs will have you reaching for all those travel memories.  Let's join Trina as she shares an unboxing of the  Life Crafted kit:

We are so excited to share what our DT has been creating with the kit and to see what you will create with it, too.  Of course we have not forgotten about all the large format documenters, who are always looking for a larger format for your memory keeping.   We have curated a Scrapbook Add-on kit that coordinates and complements our Life Crafted kit.

A rainbow of possibilities is the best way to describe this kit.  Let's join Nathalie as she share with  us the contents of the add on kit:

Oh the stories you are going to tell with these beautiful kits!  we cannot wait to see all your beautiful pages.  Remember to share with us all that you create.

In addition, as we start the month of May, we are also celebrating interNational Scrapbook Day with  a day filled with challenges, inspiration and prizes in our Citrus Twist Friends Fans page on Facebook.  Our CT has prepared a series of challenges that will keep you documenting your memories.  We are looking forward to seeing you all this Saturday!

'til next time, keep safe and healthy!

Life Crafted with Sheree

Hello Everyone!

It’s Sheree here with you today to share a new life crafted spread.  When I looked through April Night & DayLife Crafted Kit, the journaling cards that had the hourly times listed gave me the idea to do a project that outlines what a typical day in our house looks like right now.

I chose a photo to feature on the first page, then decided on the grid paper for the background.  I added a machine stitched border before choosing some more bits and pieces to add to the page.

At the top left of the photo I added a digital heart embellishment from the Printable Cutapart Elements, added a line of stitching, then layered a die cut “hello” piece with a foam dot for dimension.  I stamped the word “today” from the April 2020 This Is Life “AM/PM” Stamp Set onto white cardstock to tuck in behind the top edge of the photo, then stamped a phrase from the Night & Day Stamp Set at the top of the page.

Under the photo is a label from the Cutapart Labels sheet.  I added more stitching then layered the “happy” element from the Printable Cutapart Elements with the cute wood veneer piece on top.  A phrase from the “AM/PM” Stamp Set and the date were stamped at the bottom of the page.

I used two of the journaling cards from the kit for the second page of the spread.  These cards already had the hours listed so I printed a line of journaling for each hour and adhered them to the cards before adding machine stitching to each.

The journaling cards really helped this spread come together so quickly and easily!

Check out the video below to watch how I put it all together...

I hope I’ve inspired you to add a project like this to your album too?

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today!

Life Crafted with Marsha

Hey friends!  It's Marsha, and I'm here sharing a new layout in my Life Crafted Album.  For my project today, I used the April Life Crafted Night & Day Kit, This is Life AM/PM Stamp, Traveler's Notebook Stamp, and some digital papers and elements.

Here's a look at my layout:

For my spread today, I am documenting a photo of a magical sunset I captured a few weeks ago.  I thought this picture would work perfectly with the Night & Day Kit.

To begin the layout, I printed one of the TN Digital Papers.  I distressed the edges slightly for added interest and texture.  I layered a piece of gray patterned paper behind my photo and layered two arrow ephemera pieces above it.  Then, I stapled another ephemera piece to the top edge of the photo and layered a digital element from the Printable Cutapart Elements behind it.  Using the AM/PM Stamp and the TN Stamp, I added a bit of stamping with light gray and black ink.

I stamped the word "Evening" from the AM/PM Stamp onto my photo using white ink.  I love how it pops against the dark area of the picture!  To complete the title, I added a gold puffy word sticker.  Next, I typed my journaling onto a piece of vellum and stapled it to the page below the title.

For the right side of the layout, I printed a paper from the Night & Day TN Basics Digital Papers.  I trimmed a journaling card from the kit into a tag shape and layered it over a patterned paper and another journaling card.  I love adding tags to my LC layouts, and it is so easy to create your own using the beautiful LC kit journaling cards!  To embellish the page, I added some chipboard stickers, puffy gold stickers, a label, and stamping using the LC Kit Stamp and the TN Stamp.

Thank you for stopping by today!  We can't wait to see what you create with this month's kits, stamps, and digitals!

Pocket Page Challenge with Erica

Hey guys! Today I am sharing the second Pocket Page I made with the beautiful Night & Day kit. For this spread I wanted to highlight a really amazing weekend I had at the beach with my family. It's mainly focused on the bright fun colours of the day, but also has one card to bring out a few of the night elements.

For my title card I added an ephemera piece and a few labels. This kit didn't have alphas so I used some Citrus Twist ones from my stash for the week. To bring it all together I stamped some of the adorable stars from the AM/PM stamp.

I'm not afraid to add ephemera to busy photos. On this photo of a great meal I added circle embellishments to compliment the round plates. Almost all of these elements are from the April Cutaparts!

I also used a cute tag from the Night & Day Digital Tags and layered it on a card.

I had a few small 2x2 photos leftover from another project and I didn't want to waste them, so I popped them onto a 4x6 card I altered in Photoshop. It was originally a 3x4 card, but I experimented with doubling it and placed them side by side. Then I erased the middle until they fit together.

I love including real pieces of ephemera like movie tickets into my spreads. I didn't make a pocket for them this time, but I mimicked the shape using a die cut from the April Cutaparts and stamped the perfect sentiment!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today and have a crafty week!

Glow | Patricia

Hello CTK friends.  As you can see from my earlier posts and my Featured Project on the Citrus Twist Kits YouTube channel, I have really loved these kits this month, and especially that This is Life AM/PM stamp!

I used mostly the add-on kit with bits from the Life Crafted kit to documenting this nighttime race.  Cannot get enough of that This is Life AM/PM stamp!

Added some die cuts from the Life Crafted kit mixed in with the add-on to build layers.

At first, I decided to use just two photos, but while playing with the kits, I decided to use the new Adhesive Page Strips.  A tip that might be obvious, but wasn't to me at first so wanted to share.  Just trim the strip to fit what you are adhering to it!  You don't need to use the full length of it.

With using the strip, I was able to use a third photo and a card from the Life Crafted kit.

Since I had a lot going on and wanted room for more stamping and embellishments, I trimmed the photo on the right.  I really like the skinny, unexpected look of the photo like this.

I trimmed pattern paper from the add-on to type and stamp for my journaling.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sunday Sketch with Alena

Hey everyone!  It's Alena with  layout for Sunday Sketch.

Here's a look at the sketch this week:

Instead of creating a traditional 12x12 layout, I used this sketch for the pages of my LC album.

These pages are quite simple and has lots of white space. For the basis of one of the pages, I took a white cardstock. Then I layered strips of patterned paper, on which I placed   embellishments. The gold puffy stickers great help to add accents.

Well, then it is time for you be inspired by the sketch to create a page of your own.  Remember to share your creations with us on the Citrus Twist Kits Friends page on Facebook or by using #CTK, @Citrustwistkits on social media.  I cannot wait to see what you create with this sketch.

3-to-inspire with Nikki

Hello Citrus Twist Kits Friends,

Nikki here with a new 3-to-inspire inspiration in my Life Crafted Album created with the April Life Crafted Kit. Your three recipe ingredients are:

1. Create a pocket
2. Add a shaker element
3. Use chipboard stickers

I love to create pockets. You can add so many things to them like tickets, maps, more photos and a lot more. So the first challenge is, to create a pocket. You can do a one page pocket like me or a smaller one in one of the page protectors.

Next step is to add a shaker element. Such an element creates a little sneak peak of the next page or another element which is behind it. You also get a little sparkle on your page and who doesn´t love that? ;)

For some dimension combine chipboard stickers with die cuts or thin stickers. You can add the stickers directly on the page protectors or on the papers.

I hope you enoyed the little inspiration for the 3-to-inspire and motivated you to get creative yourself. I am glad that you stopped by and we will see us again soon.
