Pocket Life with Krystal

 

Hey everyone! This is Krystal and today I'm sharing a page in my Project Life album for 2020. For week 37, I'm using some of the new items in the Citrus Twist Kits shop this month. Let's get started!

I started with the Tickets and Tags die cut set and picked out a few items that I thought would go well with my photos. Then I grabbed the 6x8 paper pad from the Marigold collection and picked out papers to back my photos with.

I knew I also wanted to do some stamping on this page, so I grabbed the amazing new Get Messy stamp set and decided to add a cluster of stamped words next to one of my photos. I added more stamping to one of my embellishment clusters, and then use one of the large stamps from the set to create my own journal card. I love the big, graphic title it provides. 

I had a bit of extra space this week, so I decided to create a filler card using papers from the Marigold pad and a few of the die cut ephemera from the Tickets and Tags pack I love how this card came out!

Finally, to finish everything off, I sprinkled lots of chipboard stars around the page. This helped tie in all of the different colors I used and brought more interest to each card.

Another Saturday with a new 3-to-Inspire challenge, for today this is my challenge:

3.Two photos

I haven't used pocket cards for a long time, I have taken advantage of the new size of sleeves, instax, which I really liked, this way I break a bit with the aesthetics of my Life Crafted Album.

On the first page I have placed a photo with a couple of cards that I had to cut out for this measure, and in another pocket a flower and an ephemera phrase.On one of the cards I have used a stamp.

On the other page I have placed the photo in the lower right pocket.

In the other pockets I have also placed ephemera and a card that I made with one of the papers from the kit.

Here you can see in detail the ephemera that I have used and the photo.

As I love them and they cannot be missing in my projects, I have glued some enamel dots.

When I use pocked cards, I always glue the ornaments with volume above the pocket, so that it does not bulge them.

Pocket Page Challenge with Patricia

 

Hello CTK Friends!!  Today is September 1st, and time for a new Life Crafted kit.  My first project to share with the kit is a Pocket Page Challenge. 

I grabbed the new Good Life and True Life stamps along with the kit contents, as well as cards from the kit that would work with the added stamping. 

My challenges are:

1. use a filter for all of your photos for a consistent look
2. add creative stamping to layer over cards and photos
3. create a collage of photos to allow for white space

For my title card, I used a card from the kit that allowed me to add stamping to it using the Good Life stamp.  After stamping 'best part,' I added more stamping of the stars in different inks, die cuts and the new fabric die cuts.  Continuing with the stamping, I added the 'what a treat' and fork and knife under my journaling using the same stamp.

For the bottom 4x6 card, I used a card with thin lines and space to add some of the amazing smaller words from the True Life stamp set!  I used an ink in a complementary color to my spread.  I added the 'to this' to the die cut to staple at the top of the card.

Then I added the 'love' die cut at the bottom.

I love the simplicity of that bottom left card with little details because it breaks the right side with more color and photos.  We all have photos from a day, event, activity, that all go together, but don't look good together.  This was a scrapbooking crop and the theme was everyday is a celebration.  Every holiday was represented.  There was a lot of Christmas represented in the photos at the crop but then photos of us eating Mexican.  I used a filter I have never used before.  It has a chocolate filter to it.  It toned down the Christmas feel as well as give it a nice vintage vibe.  I used trimmed pattern paper from the kit for this top pocket.  I love the bold blue, and the style of the words is creating consistency throughout my spread.

This is my favorite way that I added stamping with the new True Life stamp set.  I stamped the word 'together' with Staz On black ink onto vellum, trimmed it and then clustered it with die cuts over my collage of photos.

It helps break up the business and randomness of the photos.  Using the same stamp set, I added 'shenanigans' to a die cut, and a star to another die cut using the Good Life stamp.

I love how this spread came out using the stamps, the filter on the photos, and the white space with the 4x6 card.  Hope you give these ideas a try on your next Pocket Page!

Pocket Page Challenge with Krystal

 

Hey everyone! Krystal here with another pocket page challenge. This week, I used the August "True Stories" Life Crafted Kit to create a page in my album documenting our recent vacation. I just love all of the bright colors and outdoorsy themes! It was perfect for this week's page!

This was the first project I created with this kit, so I started with all of my favorite bits: the rainbow ombre grid cards, the "Too Good for Words" card, and that "Oh, Hey!" die cut. I knew I wanted to include them, so I built the rest of the page around those elements. 

As I said before, there were lots of outdoorsy themed goodies in the kit. Since I was documenting our recent trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, I made sure to include as many as I could.

I layered die cuts with puffy stickers on each of my photos to create small, colorful clusters. Because I had used the rainbow-colored cards, there were not colors that were off limits on this spread!

And that brings me to my challenge to you: Create a spread that is full of color. Use a paper or a card to ground those colors on your page and help them all make sense, then go to town adding all the colors to your page! I love creating colorful pages. They make me happy when I look at them, and I hope they do the same for you!

Sunday Sketch with Patricia

Hello Beautiful CTK Friends!  Welcome to the first August Sunday Sketch.   Here is a look at the 12x12 sketch that I used to inspire my 6x8 layout using the August Scrapbooking Add-On Kit.

I used the Life Unscripted cut file to start my 6x8 layout on the left by flipping the hearts so that the flow would resemble the drops and motion at the bottom of the sketch.

I cut the Life Unscripted cut file separately.  First, with just the hearts for the background of my layout and backed with the book paper and then using the the rainbow pattern paper you see on the right for the title.  I made sure it cut where the rays would be seen in the title to add that affect.  Next, I used more of the book paper, transparent die cut, frame die cut, and pattern paper to create the blocks going across the page, but instead of copying the sketch, it inspired me to lay them in a layered look with just one photo adhered across the layers.  

Once that design was in place, I started added more die cuts, stickers, and stamping to finish the page.

For the right side, I used the Page Protector #3, 4x6 + Journaling spot.  I trimmed that same pattern paper used from my cut out title on the left to help create balance between the sides.  Then just finished that top pocket with another photo and a few embellishments and stamping.  I used the new Stories stamp set for all of the stamping on this project.  So love the embellishments and stamps to create this light layered look for this pocket.  Those tiny stickers and the foam flower stickers are a must-have!  The L and the R foam alphas are from the Life Crafted August kit.  It helped to create just a pop of color.

To help the flow of colors and balance, I trimmed a solid piece of that same pattern paper I used for the title and top pocket to type my journaling to finish this project.

My new favorite kit!  Just amazing and I hope the kit as well as this new Sunday Sketch inspire you to take some time to create!

Cravings | Patricia

Happy June to you, and a happy birthday to me!  I have always loved my birthday month.  This time of year is my favorite.  I love the warm sun, walks and bike rides outside, swimming, and trips!  I think that is why I also love scrapbooking products this time of year, and the Citrus Twist Life Crafted June Cravings kit is spot on!  For todays project, it is definitely all about 'cravings.'  I started by cutting several of the icon images from the Craving cut files in white cardstock.

I played with papers from the kit and the June Scrapbooking Add-On kit to back the cut files, and then I trimmed the Life Crafted cards or Add-On pattern paper to create a base for each icon.  To be honest, I did not know how I would use these, I just loved them and wanted them in individual pockets or some kind of grid.  But then I grabbed this Life Crafted paper, and started laying them out.  I was loving the collage it created, so I kept going with it.  I kept this page to a 6x8.

Once I adhered them all in place, overlapping some of them to create more of that collage feel, I added stamping with the stamp set that comes with the kit (Cravings), and the large Yes stamp set.  Then I added stickers from both the Life Crafted and the Add-On kit to fill in.  

Most of the stamping I did in a grey color to show contrast with the black inked stamped images.

The coffee cup cut file is the only one I did not need to back with pattern paper or add on a base.  Instead, I pierced and stitched around it and foam adhered on top to create dimension to my grid.

The right side I used two Life Crafted cards, one for my journaling with more stamping using the Yes stamp set.

And the other with a photo from one of my walks outside.
