Pocket Life Sketch Friday with Tara

Hello friends and happy Friday - it's Tara here sharing my take on Pocket Life Sketch Friday. I've been working on my personal album. It's new to me this year and I have really enjoyed it!!

Don't forget to read through until the end for a chance to win some happy mail.

I'm using April's 'Sophie' PL kit and Sprinkles kit in this layout. I love the pops of colour and though it isn't quite summer here, I'm welcoming the sunshine that we do get.

For this layout, I really wanted to focus on journaling and using my handwriting. I love words and photos and my goal is to include more short and long stories with my photos.

Here is your sketch:
I ended up adding more to my layout as I noticed it was a little too plain for my liking. Here is the completed pocket page after some changes.

I added a flip card that I used some washi on to the outside of the pocket. I also added the cute foam stars and hearts, some stamping, and some layers and a cork piece too. I love using extra bits and bobs and took one of the top tear off strips from the paper pad and layered it under the word sticker. I adhered it to the outside of the pocket for some dimension and texture outside.

Here is the inside of the flip pocket. I wanted to use different journaling styles, so I made a list on the bottom 4x6 journaling card. I tucked behind some vellum that I stamped on for the title "loving". I'm also loving that alpha set from Kellie Stamps.

I would love to see what you do with the PL sketch this week. Please share your work in our Gallery or Facebook Fan Page by Friday, May 5th and title it PL 05/05.

Have a lovely weekend! Xxo, Tara

Pocket Life Sketch Friday with Mira

Welcome Pocket Life Fans!

It's time for the first Pocket Sketch Friday this month! It's Mira here and I'll be sharing two sketches with You together with a couple of spring-related pocket pages that I've made with April Kits. This month I've played with Pocket Life and Sprinkles kits mixed with Add-on (which I think will be my monthly choice from now on). These kits are always filled with so many gorgeous stuff, especially tiny and colorful embellishments that I love the most! What about You? What's Your favourite part of each kit?

Here are the two sketches that I prepared for You:

And the pages from my album:

My pages are filled with pictures from our little walk when we were searching for the first signs of spring. Obviously after 30 minutes we ended up at playground - our daughter's favourite place! :) Luckily we took a few spring-related photos, so I can still pretend we were searching for those signs.

To highlight this uniquely fresh character of every spring season I kept my pages bright and colorful. Papers and cards from Pocket Life Kit helped a lot.

Also those colorful alpha stickers from Add-on kit did the job!

I used two Heidi Swapp flower stamps from Add-on kit to create my own springish journaling cards.

And here You have more details :))

I really love those white foam word stickers from Sprinkles kit and the word hope was the very best choice for my spread, since I miss sunbeams and flowers and nice temperatures so much! What about You?

Okay, that's it for now!
I hope the sketches will help You with Your pages! Don't forget to share them with us! You have a chance to win a price from Citrus Twist Kits! All You need to do is:
Create a layout based on the sketch of Your choice, post your layout to our Gallery or our Facebook Fan Page by Friday, March 14th and be sure to include PL 04/14 in the title!

Thank You for reading and I have a delightful weekend!

Pocket Life Sketch Friday with Mira

Hello Everyone!
It's Mira here with Pocket Life Sketch Friday challenge! Today I have two sketches for You and two Pocket Life pages to get You inspired!
Here's the first sketch:
As You can see I am a fan of design A and I use it in most of my PL pages:

I keep on adding very thick frames around the pictures so the final pages look consistently clean and I have plenty of space for embellishments! Here are the details:

And here goes the second sketch:
... and my inspiration:

This month kits were super bright so I admired absolutely everything what was inside, but I fell in love with one product especially: semi-transparent (kind of washi-tape type) stickers from March embellishment kit {I believe that was from Pink Fresh Studio :)}. Those stickers varied in colors and shapes so I was able to use them almost everywhere! For example to decorate this cool card from PL kit:

or to create my very own card:

What about You? What was Your favorite product from the kits this month? Feel free to share!

And if You happen to use this inspiration when creating Your own pages, remember that You have a chance to win a price! Here's how: Create a layout based on the sketch, post your layout to our Gallery or our Facebook Fan Page by Friday, March 31st and be sure to include PL 03/31 in the title!

Thanks for visiting Pocket Life Friday!
Have a wonderful weekend!

PL Sketch Friday with Tara

Happy Friday friends! Tara here on the blog with today's challenge - I do hope you join in. As always, don't forget to read through to the end to see how you can win some happy mail.

**This post is picture heavy!!**

For the month of November, I'm working in my traveler's notebook on a daily photo journal of thanks and gratitude. My friend Elise over at Feed Your Craft has been doing My Thankful 30 since 2013. I haven't done a project like this before, so I was super excited to join in the fun. The November Emerson PL kit was just perfect for this too!

Here is what I came up with for prompt 6; I made it more about where my home is instead of the town or city I call home. I love that you can tweak the prompts or use different ones - whichever fits your heart and your gratitude best.

I wanted to include a quote about home. To make the page a little more interesting, I added some white gesso and mixed water and the antique linen Tim Holtz distress ink to create some small paint splatters.
I used past Citrus Twist Kits stamps to make a border on top and my favorite this month - the chipboard word pieces to add some depth and color.

Here is the whole left page. I didn't want to waste any extra bits from the exclusive triangle puffy alphabet, so I took the triangle sliver from the "A" and used it as an embellishment.

Here is a look at the right side:

I made a cascading photo collage because I couldn't use just one photo. It was really simple - just add washi to both front and back sides and a little bit more to use as a guide to flip up!

Here are the other photos and flip through of them in this layout:

I created a hidden journaling card using some cardstock in my stash and added more patterned paper. Some of the washi I used was from my stash, included the ones from the October Waverly Scrapbook kit.

Here are both pages again. I think that this sketch would work well for a double layout or pocket pages. The sky is the limit.

Finally here is your sketch!

Thank you for stopping by today! For your chance to win, create a project (layout/pocket pages/traveler's notebook pages/mini album, etc) based on this sketch. Post your project in our Gallery and/or Facebook Fan Page with the title PL11/18. Post your entries by Friday, November 25th, 2016.

Have a lovely day!

Pocket Sketch Friday with Mira

Hello Everyone!

It's Mira here with Pocket Life Sketch Friday challenge! Today I have a very clean and simple pocket page to share, together with one simple sketch to follow. If You try to work with this sketch You will be able to achieve similar clean effects in Your albums! Wanna try it?

I've recently found out that I love having white, thick frames around my photos. It makes the album looks very clean and elegant. It also makes a lot of space for my favorite embellishments. This month I've been working with "Emerson" Pocket Life Kit together with Embellishment Kit. And here's what I prepared:

My pictures are still big enough to see what's in them, but I have a plenty of white space around them, what makes the whole layout very balanced.

I've been using the same frame thickness for a while, and now when I walk through the album it's very consistent. I love that simple effect!

Additionally, each month I create my own pocket cards using papers from Citrus Twist Kits PL Kits. They are  filled with a lot of white space, so the balance of the whole pages is always kept on the same level.

Have You ever tried this trick? It's easy, and the results can be really satisfying.

Now You can try this idea, and here's the sketch that can help You to achieve the desired effects:

If You happen to use this inspiration, remember that You have a chance to win a price!

Here's how: Create a layout based on the sketch, post your layout to our Gallery or our Facebook Fan Page by Friday, November 18th and be sure to include PL 11/18 in the title!

Pocket Life Sketch Friday with Diane

I had a hodge podge of photos this week so the best thing to do was simply to add MORE COLOUR! I used the November Citrus Twist Kits Pocket Life kit to add pops of light and bright colour to the spread.

I journaled by hand this week, and even though I'm not a huge fan of my own handwriting, it really is the quickest and easiest way to add journalling to a spread. I tried to tie it in a bit more by adding a little bit of doodling on some of the photos.

Here are some close-ups...

And here is the sketch from this spread...

Check out my process video of how this page came together...
You can watch this video on YouTube or subscribe to my YouTube channel here.

Thanks for visiting Pocket Life Friday, where every week we share PL sketches and a chance to win. For your chance to win, create a layout based on the sketch in this blog post, post your layout to our Gallery or our Facebook Fan Page by Friday, November 11th 2016. Be sure to include PL 11/04 in the title!

Project Life Sketch with Nicole

Hi lovelys! I'm super excited to share with you this simple project life sketch of mine.

This year, I'm using a 9x12 album and I like to be able to keep everything in one album for the entire year so I try to keep things flat. I'm months behind with my PL but I try not to worry too much cause it looses the fun of documenting.

The Gather PL kit is my first DT kit and I love it! I couldn't help but be amaze with how pretty the products are and how well it goes together. Since I'm using a 3x3 page protector I cut down a bunch of journal cards as well as one special paper from the paper pad.

For this spread, I used a lot of customise cards with lots of stamps, cork embellishments, stitches, sticker sheets and journaling.

"This Makes Me Smile" card is actually a pattern paper is from Maggie Holmes Gather paper pad that is part of the Gather PL kit. The Hello Weekend card is made from a plain American Crafts card stock and I use the clear stamp included in the kit to make my own patterned paper.

Here is a shot of the whole spread for the event that happened my birthday month. I love how flat and easy the embellishments that is included in the kit. You can't go wrong with a Citrus Twist PL kit. My main strategy when making a spread like this is repetition, to make it easier and concentrate more on memory keeping and documenting which is the more important thing. Check out the sketch that I use for this. Enjoy! Pls share your projects created using my sketch.

Thank you!
