Can you believe december is almost over?

I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas with lots of happiness.

I have prepped my december 15th with the december collection, I adore all the bright colors!

I have used a little tage to start my cluster for the date, I added some stamps and some layers for extra interest.

The big pocket will fit a photo from the day, I added the tag again and some embellishments to match the cluster on top, my journaling will go in the left card so the memories will be there forever!

I hope you found some inspiration in the spread and I wish you all a very happy 2023

Life Crafted Inspiration with Shu-Wen

Hey everyone!

It's Shu-Wen here, sharing my last blog post for the year! In this post, I'm sharing some inspiration for my 6x8 December Daily Life Crafted Album, featuring the December 2022 "Winter Magic" Digital collection and ephemera pieces!

Ever since I first saw the Christmas tree cut file from the "Trim the Tree" cut file set designed by Ashley Horton, I knew I wanted to back it with patterned papers to use as a feature page in my December Daily album. The weather outside has been dreadful here in Alberta, so it's been perfect for staying indoors and crafting! I find backing cut files a very "hygge" experience, it's relaxing and allows me to take some time just for myself as I sip on some hot chocolate. I backed the cut file with some papers from the "Winter Magic" Traveler's Notebook Digital Papers set, because I thought the wintery teals and greys in would be perfect to reflect the frigid temperatures we've been experiencing here towards the latter half of December. So although I was originally planning on using this as the base of a layout documenting our cold temperatures, I decided to make it into a vellum overlay instead to serve as the title page for volume 2 of my December Daily albums this year!

I had fun playing around with the placements of the patterned papers beneath the cut file, making sure to include this little blue bird within one of the tree outlines! ^_^ After I finished backing the cut file with various patterned papers, I added my title using some Black Puffy Alphabet Stickers to spell out "2022 December", and added an ephemera piece from the "Winter Magic" Die Cut Ephemera Pack for the word "Daily". I had initially tried a light mint green font for the alphabet stickers to go with the wintery greens of this collection, but ultimately went with the black font instead because it made the title stand out a bit more from the background. Then, I scattered numerous enamel dots in coordinating colors onto my vellum page, focusing most of the enamel dots towards the center of the page where I had my title. I took these enamel dots from a couple of different packs from the Citrus Twist Kits line, including the "Flea Market Findings" Enamel Dots and the "Jewel" Enamel Dots. I also made sure to include a variety of sizes of these enamel dots, evenly distributed across the page.

Here's a final look at how my title page turned out! I'm looking forward to layering this on top of a bright wintery photo outside, that is, if it ever gets warm enough that I want to stay outside for a bit to snap a photo! XD I love the ethereal look of this cut file floating on the vellum page, and the wintery colors of this kit certainly give me winter vibes as well!

I hope this inspires you to look at using cut files and vellum as cover pages for your albums!  If you're creating a layout inspired by this page, be sure to tag me over on Instagram @ChouxPuffCreations so that I can see what you've created, and make sure to share you layouts over on the Citrus Twist Kits Facebook Page as well! Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday Sketch with Lory

Hello everyone! How are you? It's December time, the most wonderful and magical time of the year don't you find?

Today I am happy to share a new sketch to inspire you to create and preserve your memories, especially in this period ;)

A sketch is always a good idea to start creating. In this way you have a grid to follow and from then you can go away from it with your infinite creativity or follow it in every single piece. It's your choice.

Here my entry.

I have played with warm tones for the pictures and the embellishments I have used from past Christmas kits from Citrus Twist. I have chosen two Christmas photos and then I followed the sketch in almost all its parts.

I added a title from an old add on kit and then the journaling in many strips and on the top and the bottom borders strips of papers and some details.

The little things are always the best.

Hope this page gives you the a bounch of inspiration.

Have a wonderful Christmas time,

Love, Lory.

3-to- INSPIRE WITH NATASHA

Happy Holidays, CTK, fans and friends!

For today’s 3-to-Inspire challenge, I am bringing to you a year in review themed layout. My recipe for today’s layout includes:

1.  Stamped background
2.  Mix at least two different collections
3.  A selfie

Play along with my recipe or choose your own. Like many of you I can’t believe 2022 is about to close and we are ready to usher in a new year. I wanted to dedicate a selfie layout in my December memory planner in my 6 x 8 Chambray Surf Life Crafted album as I think it’s important to include ourselves, the documenter, in our memory keeping projects!

To start, I selected my foundation papers from two different collections, one is from the latest digital kit, Winter Magic, and the right hand side is from the Flea Market Findings Version 2 kit.

I always love including the Citrus Twist exclusive clear stamps in my projects, so I created a stamped background using the Simple Words Version 1 Stamp Set. I kept all of the stamps on the clear backing and inked the entire sheet of stamps in one go. Once all inked up, I pressed the whole sheet of stamps directly onto the digital paper to create my stamped background.

I then added some additional stamping for my "2022 Captured" as my page title. For my ink colors I selected colors that are complementary to the collections that I selected for the challenge. I always recommend when mixing different collections to choose a color palette to work within, as that can help create a cohesive layout.

To finish my layout, I included lots of different embellishments. The poinsettia die cuts are from Evergreen and Jolly, lots of word stickers, as well as some ribbon and enamel dots from the Flea Market Findings Version 2 collection. Last but not least, added some ink splatters to top it all off. I really love how this layout turned out  as we wrap up the year. Don’t forget to include yourself in your memory keeping projects, as you are worth of documenting too!

LIFE CRAFTED INSPIRATION WITH MARINA

Hi there!
Marina with you today to share a bit of Life Crafted Inspiration featuring our new WINTER MAGIC ephemera and digital files.

I'm just in love with the palette of this beautiful kit, so I wanted to create a spread in these very shades. I used the google app to highlight the main colors and find the right photos to match.

I decided to use the bottom row of colors as a base, and make the top rows and black accent colors, adding some light pink and our gorgeous Sunshine puffy alphabet to the header:
What a beautiful combination of cool and warm hues, isn't it? :)
On this page, I added a blue digital card to dilute the pale color scheme, as well as some yellow and pink to create an overall color triangle throughout the spread:
I love "snow globes," it's my little New Year's weakness, so I wanted to add the second of our Winter Magic digital elements here by adding a flip card.
By the way, the little yellow accent is also present in this photo, and I'm very happy with how harmonious my spread turned out thanks to this beautiful palette!
Do you use the "palette method" for your photos? Do you edit them influenced by the paper or embellishments you like? I'll be honest - I do! :)
I hope my first November snow in these photos inspires you to create something beautiful and light with our beautiful winter kit!

Thanks for stopping by!
See you in the New Year! ;))
XO

SUNDAY SKETCH with Patricia

Hello and welcome to another Sunday sketch.   I usually take inspiration and make it my own, but for this project, I was inspired to recreate the sketch.

The description of the sketch, says to use the Heart Background from Winter Magic December Digital  paper, and that is exactly what I did.  I did the majority of the work on the computer in Photoshop.

I inserted my photos, altered some of the hearts to add the journaling, and the gingerbread cut file.  The cut files come in PNG files, so I was able to change the color and add color behind it to add to an altered heart square.  Once everything was finished I printed this on matte photo paper.

All that was left to do was add the physical product.  I used a combination of the new Winter Magic die cuts, enamels from Parasol kit (they are sold separately here), and a sticker from the Jingle All the Way kit (sold separately as well here).  The photo frae is from the Gather die cut ephemera pack.

Because of the sketch, the grid of the paper, this came together quickly.  If you don't have Photoshop to layer photos and PNG images on top, you could always print the digital paper, then measure and cut the pieces you need to go on top.

Either way, this is a great start to put together a quick and easy layout!
