Sunday sketch with Laura

Hello ladies! It's Laura here with a new project for the end of the week! It's time for the Sunday sketch challenge! It's so perfect to boost your creativity and enjoy your Life Crafted and Scrapbooking kits! Here you have the sketch, do you feel your ideas flowing?

It's a very versatile design and I decided to go full color and use the beautiful goodies from the scrapbook kit mainly, these florals are perfect!

For the title, I decided to create a little cluster with the foam stickers from the Life crafted kit, some of the amazing stamp words and a few stickers, they look so cute all together!

To frame the picture, you just need some of the papers from both kits and layer them. Then add some tags from the She's magic collection from Dear Lizzy, a few more diecuts and stickers and you'll have that ready!

Finally, my favourite part from this layout is the top border! I decided to change the straight lines from the scketh and use these beautiful flowers, because remember that this is just a guide, you can change it as you feel!

I also added some white splatters underneath the flowers to give it more dimension and make it stand out from the base yellow paper! I love how bright it looks!

And that is all for today! I hope you liked it and that you get inspired to create your own pages with this cute sketch! And as always, don't forget to visit the shop for more cute items!
Best wishes!

"Success Story" with Marsha

Hey friends!  Marsha here today sharing a layout in my Life Crafted Album.  I used the fabulous August Scrapbooking Add-on kit, the subscriber exclusive Ampersand Love cut file, and the Simple Words Version 2 stamps.

Here's a look at the layout:

For this layout, I began by cutting out the cut file using white cardstock.  Because I planned to use the cut file on the left side of the layout, I trimmed the thick white border from the left side of the cut file.  I backed the ampersand portion of the cut file with a patterned paper from the kit and mounted the entire file onto another patterned paper from the kit, trimmed to 5"x8.25" to fit in the Life Crafted Album.

I added the title using a fabric ephemera piece and a gold title piece, both from the kit.  Next, I added some stamping, another fabric ephemera piece and some puffy stickers to complete this side of the layout.

For the right side, I began by layering some patterned papers behind my photo.  I embellished around the photo using cardstock ephemera, puffy stickers, and fabric ephemera pieces.  I also added some stamping using the Simple Words Version 2 stamp.  This set includes so many fun sentiments!  Using some sharp scissors, I trimmed and pieced together two different stamps in the set to make a phrase I stamped at the top of the page.  Don't be afraid to make your stamps work for you and your layouts!

Here's a final look at the spread in my album:

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you will check out the fun new cut files and the amazing Scrapbooking Add-on kit available this month at Citrus Twist Kits.  I will see you again soon!

3 to Inspire with Marsha

Hey friends!  Marsha here sharing my first 3 to Inspire for Citrus Twist Kits.  For my layout today, I used the June Life Crafted Around Here kit, the Label It free subscriber exclusive cut file, and the Bows cut file.

Here's a look at the layout in my Life Crafted Album, documenting one of my favorite places- my craft room!

Our prompts:

1. Around Here kit
2. Cut file (or 2!)
3. Stamping

I started by cutting out the cut file using white cardstock.  I then backed a few of the labels on the cut file with a floral patterned paper from the kit, and backed the entire cut file with the wood grain patterned paper.  I couldn't resist adding a cut file bow to the page, too, cut using a striped patterned paper.  I can't get enough of the fun cut files this month!

Next, I added some ephemera pieces, puffy foam stickers, and tiny alphabet stickers.  I stamped a sentiment onto one of the cut apart labels.

For the other side of the layout, I used the 3" x 8" bookmark included in the kit.  I added the title using a puffy foam phrase sticker and some stamping.

I fussy cut a flower from one of the patterned papers and layered it over the floral elements at the bottom of the bookmark.  This brought the bright pink over to the left side of the layout. To finish off the spread, I added a puffy cardstock sticker and more of the ephemera pieces.

Thanks for joining me today!  I can't wait to see how you use the 3 to Inspire prompts on your project!

Life Crafted with Marsha

Hey friends!  Marsha here again today, and I'm excited to be sharing a spread in my Life Crafted Album.  I used this month's Life Crafted "Make It a Venti" kit and the Life Crafted Stamp Add-on to create this layout.  I just love the colors and designs in this kit!  I also love that even though it is coffee themed, this kit can be used for lots of other types of documenting.

To begin the layout, I chose one of this month's exclusive cut files, "Retro Heart."  The best part about using this cut file is it's already sized to fit perfectly in the Life Crafted album!  I resized one of the traveler's notebook digital papers using my Silhouette Studio software.  By doing this, I was able to cut the entire file using patterned paper.   I then layered the cut file over a white cardstock base.

For my journaling, I chose one of the labels from the Make It a Venti Cut Aparts.  I layered the label over an ephemera piece from this month's kit.  The tiny tile alphabet stickers were perfect for adding the date.  To finish off this side of the layout, I added a chipboard heart sticker from last month's Life Crafted "Life Chapters" Kit.

For the other side of the layout, I printed another digital TN paper and sized it to fit in the album.  I layered a piece of white cardstock down the center of the paper, so that the heart pattern was peeking out on both sides.  Next, I trimmed a few of the kit papers to layer behind this cute photo of my niece, and used some of the ephemera pieces from this month's kit to embellish this area.  I hand cut a heart using the woodgrain paper and added it to the cluster.  Using a border punch from my stash and the pink patterned paper from the kit, I cut a scalloped border piece and tucked it behind the photo.  I saved another scalloped piece to add to the bottom of the page.  I love how this mimics the scallop from the heart cut file!

For my title, I chose the ephemera "THIS" die cut and added some of the puffy alphabet stickers from the kit.

To finish off the spread, I added some machine stitching to a few areas of the layout, and I used the Life Crafted Stamp Add-on to stamp a couple of sentiments around the page.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I can't wait to see what you create using this month's Life Crafted "Make It a Venti" kit!

3-to-Inspire with Patricia

Hello Citrus Twist Friends!  I am so very excited to be sharing my first project as a Creative Team Member with you today.  The March Life Crafted kit inspired me in so many ways, from the vintage feel, to the stamps and embellishments.  I was able to pick a 3-to-Inspire for you today, though!

My prompts to get you creating with this kit are:
1.  Use the Cork Numbers
2.  Stamp on the Cork Numbers
3.  Use the digital file that coordinates with the numbers called Telling My Story

As soon as I saw the cork numbers, I couldn't stop thinking about them, and how to use them.  I was reading in Psalm and came across verses that, at first, I thought were the exact same sentences.  Once I read them again, I not only realized they were not, but how powerful they were of being thankful to God.  And they happened to be verses 1, 2, and 3 of Psalm 136.  I used them to identify each verse.  For the verses, I used the label stamp from the March Life Chapters stamp set.

I used the same stamp set to stamp onto the cork numbers, and used the coordinating cut file, Telling My Story, to die cut the numbers to create my background.  I created a lot of texture with the background by adding the pattern paper behind the die cut numbers, as well.

I cut the stamped labels with the scripture verses in half, then used the ephemera pack to type the Book and chapter, added the stars, the arrow, and flower to add even more texture to my background to finish this page of my Life Crafted spread.

The left side is full of lots of texture and color.   I kept the right side more simple, but still added a cluster of the kits pattern papers die cut from the Telling My Story cut files to create a cluster at the bottom and to also add journaling to complete the scripture verses.

Once I had my photo added of my family going to church, I finished this side with sentiments from the Life Chapters stamp set, ephemera and chipboard from the kit that completed this story.

Thank you for letting me share and I hope this gives you one idea to get you started on how to use the cork numbers with the stamps, and the cut files.  Please share what you create in our Facebook group and tag me so I don't miss it!

I created a video to show you how this came together.

Life Crafted with our Guest Designer, Steffi Ried!

We are super excited to share our next Guest Designer with you - Steffi Ried!  We're in awe of everything Steffi creates and even more so with what she has created using our new Life Crafted kit!  I am sure you'll be inspired just as we are!.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

When Trina asked me if I wanted to play with the new kit "Life Crafted", I was very happy. I love albums and this one with all the beautiful papers and die-cuts is gorgeous.

When I unpacked the album and the stamp plate, the idea of stamping the book cover came to me. Since the album is covered with fabric, the stamp ink holds very well and dries quickly. I used a chalk fluid ink pad. On the back of the album I first tested stamping. I was immediately thrilled. And so I stamped the cover diagonally. In addition, the cover with the title stuck on.

Since the new year has only just begun, I have prefabricated a few pages. So all I have to do is add the photos. It's more relaxed when filling later on.

For the cover page I created a banner from punched out hearts. The colors of the papers shine so beautifully and are so delicate. I also punched out the photo as a heart and inserted it into the banner.

The other pages I have created from the great papers. A pocket is included. Here I placed the small Project Life cards.

I built a small sewn heart with sequins into the flower paper.

For another page I removed the chipboard stickers from the template. Then the template was decorated with cut flowers, stickers, photo. I like it when the sides are different. You can create great pages for the album out of all the material.

The size of the pages/protectors is great. I already added a big photo to the album. I think that I will mainly use big photos. The kit and album are perfect for that.

Sunday Sketch with Melanie

Hello CTK friends, Melanie here with another Sunday Sketch for you.

Isn't it a great one? And it's perfect to use with the New 'Life Crafted' January Kit! I pretty much stuck to the sketch but switched one photo for a journal card.

After the holidays my crafty bestie and I finally met to spend the whole day scrapping and chatting together. The table became a huge mess pretty quickly and we loved it. Of course we took a picture of the table and I used the Fresh Start Kit to document the day.

The pretty striped paper went perfectly with the colors on my photo and I cut two strips of it. I backed my photo with some matching patterned papers from the kit and did the same with my journaling card. To make them stand out I used some fun foam. After that I placed one strip of the striped paper above my cluster and one on the bottom.

I used some labels to create more layers and used the stamp set that came in the kit to stamp some phrases on the labels and the New Beginnings Stamp to make the black labels..

I added some stitching for more texture and finished the layout off by adding some black ink splatters.

I hope you'll play along with this sketch challenge. I can't wait to see what you're all going to create. The new kit is so much fun to work with. The colors and patterns are gorgeous and the Embellishments are so versatile, love that!
Don't forget to share your work on Instagram and our Facebook Group so we can see your creations.
Until then, have fun creating!
Melanie
