SUNDAY SKETCH with JASMIN

Hi friends! Jasmin here with my first Blog Post as a new Designteam Member.

I have never work with a sketch before. And what can I say: It was super fun!

Here is the Sketch:

I used the beautiful Flea Market Findings Kit and the January Stamp and followed the template exactly for my layout.

I choose a white Cardstock, print my photo black and white and use the frame YOU ARE MY HAPPY  from the Kit. In the Sketch you can see flowers under the frame. I fussy cut some black and white ones from the 6x8 papers.

Yarn can be seen in the sketch. I hand stitched for a little detail. I have my title and for my journaling i have used the YOUR SMILE and ON YOUR FACE stamp.

I am sure that wasn´t my last sketch. Can´t wait to see what you create.

I hope you like my Layout.

See you next time.

3-to-Inspire with Shu-Wen

Hi everyone!

It's Shu-Wen here, sharing a spread that I created in my Life Crafted Album to ring in the New Year! This one features the new Fresh Starts Life Crafted Kit, a sneak peek of a new item that will be available in the Citrus Twist Kits shop next month, and some musical inspiration!

This week's 3-to-Inspire prompts are:
1. Rainbow
2. Song lyrics
3. Die cut ephemera

Here's a photo of the layout I created:

I had 4 photos that I wanted to document from New Year's Day, 2 from our breakfast at my boyfriend's parents' place, and 2 more from our dinner at my parents' place, so I thought it would be a great idea to put two on each of my Life Crafted Album pages and surround the grid with some of the colorful ticket die-cut ephemera pieces from the Fresh Starts Die Cut Ephemera Pack. Instead of using white cardstock or patterned paper as my base pages, I decided to use some kraft cardstock instead to give some more contrast to my photos and die-cut ephemera. On one of the labels, I used the Harper Alphabet Stamp Set to stamp the date on one of those ticket pieces; the alphabets were just small enough to fit into the blank spot on this label!

As I was making this spread, I had the song "22" by Taylor Swift stuck in my head, because it's 2022!!! So I decided to use the Fresh Starts Tiny Alphabet Stickers to spell out one of the lines from the song with a little twist: substituting "22" with "2022"! To make more of an impact, I used the upcoming ombre puffy alphabet stickers for the number 2022! These ombre alphabet stickers aren't being released in the Citrus Twist Kits shop until Feb 1, but I just LOVED how the colors of the alphabet matched the pinks and yellows in the rest of my spread, so I couldn't resist including this sneak peek! ;)

To finish decorating the top of my pages, I scattered some of the word phrase stickers from the Fresh Starts Puffy Phrase & Icon Stickers in rainbow order across the two pages, then added some puffy stars from the same sticker sheet to fill up some of the spaces between the word phrase stickers. I love how this rainbow looks across my page!

I was debating whether I should add some journaling to these pages, but in the end, decided to keep the focus on the photos and the bright vibes from the song lyrics and the decorations! But if you'd like to add some journaling without interrupting the flow of this page, I did consider cutting one of the 3x4 Page Protectors in half so that you only have the bottom 3x4 pocket and using a journaling card from the Fresh Starts Journaling Card Set to add in some journaling.

If you'd like to give this challenge a shot, feel free to tag me on Instagram or on the Citrus Twist Kits Facebook Fan Page so that I can check it out! And make sure to check out the Citrus Twist Kits shop for all the new goodies coming out each month! Thanks for stopping by!

Life Crafted with Nolana

Life Crafted Friday

Hello Everyone!

This is Nolana and I am so happy to be on the blog today sharing my post for Life Crafted Friday!

This year I'm using my Life Crafted Albums as a journal to document stories about myself. I receive weekly writing prompts and create spreads which includes my writing.

I've enjoyed using the Fresh Starts kit for this spread along with components from the Flea Market Findings kit.

Then I created a mini- booklet with my journaling on Overcoming Roadblocks and how I'd like to Thrive this year (as my one little word is Thrive).

I am really enjoying this writing journey and creating spreads in my album gives me the right amount of excitement to complete each week's  writing prompt.

I love hearing and seeing how everyone uses their Life-crafted albums.

Are you working on any year-long projects or special projects in your Life-crafted albums this year?

I look forward to many many more adventures with my beautiful Life Crafted Albums!

See you soon!

SUNDAY SKETCH WITH KERSTIN

Hi everyone! Have a good Sunday!

Kerstin here! Today I show you my first Sunday Sketch inspiration for you!

Let's take a look at the sketch

What a wonderful sketch! I love to make sketches, get inspired by a template and then make it happen with amazing products. I enjoyed most about this sketch was the options for using papers and embellishments in different layers.

For this sketch in my Blueberry Life Crafted Album I used the January 2022 Life-Crafted-Kit. Included in this kit are the FRESH STARTS Die Cut Emphemera and the colorful FRESH STARTS Puffy Phrase & Icon Stickers!

For my left side I arranged some of the cute January 2022 6x8 Digital Papers in different sizes and and on it I applied my photo with 3D Foam. A few embellishments complete my page. Isn't that little bow cute?

Here you can see a closer look at the cute embellishments from the FRESH STARTS Die Cut Ephemera and my title "yes" from the Puffy Phrase & Icon Stickers. Here I like the color and it also fits great to the papers. Can you spot the sweet little butterfly from the FRESH STARTS Puffy Stickers

On the right side, I hid my journaling under a piece of vellum that I taped to the back of my white cardstock. So I can open it and "hide" my journaling behind it. I applied a few " phrases" to the vellum - from the Die Cut Ephemera and Puffy Phrase & Icon Stickers.

No scrapbooking without flowers - this is (almost) true for me.

As you can see, the sketch does not have to be done 1:1. It leaves room for your imagination, your creativity to keep your memory.

I hope you like this inspiration and I can motivate you to do this Sunday Sketch.

Have fun and be creative!

Kerstin x

3-TO-INSPIRE WITH ETTIENE

Hello!!  I'm so excited to share my first 3-to-inspirepost.  For today's 3-to-Inspire, I am using the new Fresh Starts kit to create a traditional 12x12 scrapbook page.

Here is what I picked for my page:

1. 6x8 paper

2. 2 different fonts

3. 2 main colors

As soon as I saw the stamp set I imagined a combination of stamped journaling and hand written journaling.  I love that the All the Things stamp set has so many versatile sentiments allowing me to easily combine it to create my own journaling block.  For me its very important to occasionally use my own handwriting in my projects.  I love looking back at my grandmothers handwriting and hope that my kids will feel the same about mine.  I also adore the imperfection from the stamped edges and how it makes you want to stay and read what I have written.

My favorite part of any kit is the floral papers.  I was immediately drawn to the orange and pink floral and thought it was a great start to a layout.  I used this paper as inspiration for my colors and picked out matching ephemera from the kit.  I love the simplicity of using only a couple of colors in my layouts offset with a little touch of black.  In order to make the 6x8 paper stand out a little more I hand drew a border around it.

The final touch was my title.  My kids are now 5 and 8 so this picture is slightly older.  I combined the sweet title from the puffy phrase stickers with the tiny alphabet stickers.  If you don't feel comfortable with handwriting and stamping like I did in my journaling this is another great way to include 2 fonts on your page.

I hope this post is inspiring you to create with your supplies in a new way.  I would love to see your photos so tag Citrus Twist Kits on Instagram and Facebook.

LIFE CRAFTED WITH KATARINA

 Hi everyone!

Today I am very excited to share my very first Life Crafted inspiration on the blog with you! And what story would be better for this purpose than me joining the Citrus Twist Kits Creative Team. Such exciting news needed documenting. I used my new Blueberry Life Crafted Album together with the beautiful Fresh Starts Life Crafted Kit. Let's have a look!

I am a big fan of yellow and blue and was immediately attracted to the blue/white striped and yellow paper with tiny triangles from the kit. I used the striped paper to add a little detail on both sides of my spread and also to connect the two pages together.

I also love to combine scripty and blocky fonts for my titles. For this one I used the scripty word "new" from the Fresh Starts Die Cut Ephemera and I stamped the rest of the words using the Sophie Alphabet Stamp. I love how it works perfectly together! I also stamped a little sentiment under my title using the new All The Things Stamp.

I added a couple of Fresh Starts puffy stickers for more dimension and detail.

On the other side of my spread I used the bookmark from the kit and one of the papers from the Basics & Ledgers Patterned Papers. I created two tags that I layered over each other and finished them with blue/white and yellow details to complement the right side. I used the trimmed bookmark for my story.

I hope my project inspired you to play with your Life Crafted Fresh Starts Kit and create something pretty. Thank you so much for stopping by, see you next month!

Sunday Sketch With Aimee

Hey there Citrus Twist friends it's Aimee here to welcome you back to another Sunday Sketch! Let's take a look at the sketch:

Isn't she lovely? I decided to go ahead and flip the sketch on its side. Remember — sketches are meant to strike inspiration and don't necessarily have to be in the same orientation or even format for that matter.

For this particular layout I wanted to use the Market Square Add-On kit that's available in the shop— I still have a bunch of this kit left to work through. I selected a beautiful deep green paper from the kit and oriented it vertically behind my photos. I like how the green pairs really well with my photos and I loved the scripty title shown in the sketch so I chose my own puffy word from the Fresh Starts Puffy Phrase & Icon sticker sheet. I thought the black, "happy" was more fitting for my color scheme.

Next I layered in some of those beautiful florals from the Market Square die-cut and Chipboard sets. They aren't shown in the sketch but since I am using it more as a guide this is okay! I also added neutral toned die-cuts from the Fresh Starts Die-Cut Ephemera pack and precious doilies from the add-on kit

The sketch indicates a place for handwritten or typed journaling but instead I decided to create my journaling with the All The Things stamp set and I'm so glad I did! I think it turned out adorable and it's definitely something I will be doing again. I added black acrylic paint splatters to the page by wetting my paint brush before dipping it into my paint and took care not to splash my photos.

After my splatters dried I embellished with a few hearts and voila— there is my Sunday Sketch complete! You don't have to follow sketches down to the letter and I'm so glad I let this sketch inspire me to make this sweet and priceless page. I hope you enjoyed following along and I'll see you next time! Happy creating!

Affectionately,

3-to-Inspire with AMY

Happy New Year everyone!  I'm excited to share my first blog post as a Creative Team member!  For today's 3-to-Inspire, I am using the new Fresh Starts kit.  For the past three years, I have created a monthly project life album for my family, mainly using pocket pages.  This will be the opening page in my 2022 album.

Here are my 3-to-inspire:

1.  Die Cut Ephemera

2.  Tiny Word Stickers

3.  Double-Sided 3x4 Journaling Cards

I was initially drawn toward the Die-Cut Ephemera for this layout because of the 1,2,3 tags, since there are three people in my family.  I cut the tags with 1 and 2 on them so they fit better over the pictures, and so I could use the extra bits on different sections of the layout to create continuity.  Yes, it's ok to cut up your ephemera!  I give you permission.  I also ended up also adding the yellow tag in the upper right and the long octagonal tag in the bottom left, which I popped up to give a bit of dimension.

I really like the Tiny Word Stickers in this kit, because they have lots of fun phrases, and are great
jumping-off points for storytelling.  I knew I wanted to "introduce" my family on this page, and the "not without my monkeys" seemed like the perfect headline to do so.  The fact that the type is a lovely, shimmery gold didn't hurt either.

I used both the digital and physical Double-Sided Journaling Cards for this layout.  I have been using digital journal cards more and more recently, not because I dislike handwritten journaling, (I love it, and think it is a really important element in memory keeping), but because I can physically fit more words on the cards when I type them.  I like that this kit offers a lot of different color options for journal cards as well.  The color palette for my layout was fairly neutral, and I didn't want my journaling cards to overshadow the photos, so I picked ones with a more neutral hues to match.  I used a lined card to hold my journaling, and rectangle-and-half circle card to hold my stamped tag.

I hope this post inspired you to look at different elements of this kit in a new way.  Now, go and create something beautiful today.
