Let's Get Digital with Marsha

Hey friends! Marsha here today, and I am sharing a layout in my Life Crafted Album focusing on some digitals from the Citrus Twist Kits shop.  I used one of the subscriber bonus journaling cards from this month as a background paper for my layout.  I loved this card and thought it would be perfect enlarged on a page.

Here's a look at my layout:

To begin the spread, I opened the journaling card file in Photoshop and enlarged it to approximately 4" wide.  Next, I printed it out on some white cardstock and trimmed it to the size of my TN page.

Since the background of the page was done, I began creating the layout using the Life Crafted Gratitude kit.  I added my photo to the page and used a stamp from the This Is Life "Grateful" Stamp to stamp a floral piece at the edge of my photo.  I stamped the date onto a printable cutapart label from this month and tucked it behind the photo.  A vellum leaf and puffy heart sticker completed the simple embellishing around the photo.

For the title, I stamped the word "hello" from the November Traveler's Notebook Stamp.  To complete the title, I used some tile alpha stickers (from a previous LC kit) and the glitter foam stickers from this month's kit.  I did not have enough Ls, so I trimmed two of the lowercase Fs to make the Ls.  I added more of the vellum leaves and stamped another floral from the TN Stamp.  To complete this side of the spread, I added some machine stitching to the edge of the page and to the stems of the leaves.

For the other side of the spread, I decided to focus on the vellum leaves from the Life Crafted kit.  I placed them randomly on the white cardstock base and added a bit more stamping with the Grateful Stamp.  To finish off the spread, I added some machine stitching to the stem of each leaf.

Here's one final look at the layout:

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope this has inspired you to use some digital elements on your next project.  I will see you again soon!

Let's Get Digital - See Good Things in Everything

Hi dear ones! Anna here with you today sharing this month's Let's Get Digital inspiration using the September Explore Life Crafted Kit and some of the CTK digitals.

We always have lots and lots of marvelous digitals to play with here on CTK. There's printables as digital papers, PL-cards, digital stamps, cut aparts and plenty of beautiful digital cut files. Each month there comes new gorgeous pieces, I love it!

For my layout of today I've used a digital cut file for my title and some digital papers as well.

I separated the two lines of text to get one part in the wooden patterned paper and one in ordinary black light weight card stock from my own stash. Then I paired then in two layers and I love how i turned out.

Plenty of lovely layers here using a combination of digital papers and physicl ones.

I love all the labels both from the physical kit and the digital pieces.

Here you see my titel again, it's almost floating on my layout.

Hope you like it and that you have got some inspiration here today! Don't forget to share with us on CTK Fan Page and on Instagram. We can't wait to see what beautiful things you create.

Let's Get Digital with Kira

Hey there!  It's Kira and I am back with another 8.5x11 scrapbook layout focusing on some digital elements.  Here's a look at my layout for today:

One of my favorite things to do with digital elements is to use them in ways that they weren't necessarily intended.  While looking through some of this month's digital pieces, I fell in love with this floral piece (from the digital cut aparts):

I'm such a sucker for florals, so when I saw this, I really wanted to turn it into a cut file.  So I imported it into my Cricut design space software and did just that! I sized it to 8" wide and cut it on white cardstock.

I used the lemon paper from the Life Crafted kit to back the flower portion of the cut file, but didn't have the just right color for the leaves.  But that's an easy fix when you're using the digital elements.  I just imported one of the Chasing Rainbows digital papers into Gimp, and colorized it to a blue-teal color that coordinates perfectly with the lemon paper.

I used white embroidery thread and stitched around the edges of my cut file using a simple backstitch.  Then it was time to start assembling my layout!  I adhered my flower directly to my grid background (paper from the add-on kit) and placed my photo to the right of the leaves.

I used the "hello" acrylic and "happiness" acetate as my title (both found in the LC kit).  And I created three embellishment clusters around my page using elements from both the LC kit and the add-on kit.  I finished the layout off with some black splatters and some typed journal strips.

I hope this has inspired you to get creative with your digital elements!  Thanks for stopping by!

Kira

Let's Get Digital with Anna

Hi dear friends! Anna here with you today and I'm so excited to share my project with you where I've used the digital elements from the July Life Crafted kit. There are lot's of them each month in the CTK shop and they are gorgeous. Some of them are Subscribers Exclusive and a few of them are open for everyone.

Here's what I came up with.

The first thing I did was to cut out this beautiful sunray digital cut file( subscriber exclusive) designed by Nathalie. I sized it up pretty much and I love how it turned out backed with all these gorgeous papers. The papers are a few of the digital papers and one of the digital PL cards, also a few of the labels are from the digital cutaparts. One of the best things with digital elements is that you can size them as you want, sometimes type your journaling on the digital pieces before printing and you can print your favorite pieces over and over again.

These two labels are from the cut aparts as well. Though the lovely colorful hexagon is from the ephemera pack of the physical Life Crafted kit . Also I went for a bit light mixed media using some color mists in matching colors.

Here's one of the labels from the digital cut apart sheet. I've used the "Summer is Here" sentiment out from the Life Crafted kits stamps. Also I mixed the digitals up with a few of the lovely chipboard stickers  and some enamels from the kit.

I like to make small clusters using a combo of both digital parts and other embellishments from the kit. Also I like to add stitches and/or staples to my projects to get texture and dimension.

I had a blast while creating this page and I hope I could bring some scrappy inspiration into your scrappy heart as well! Be sure to check up all the gorgeous CTK digitals and have some fun. Also heads up for the soon to be release of the new kits for August. I promise you that they're smashing gorgeous!!

As always just ask away if you have any questions and I'll try to help you :)

Thank you for stopping by, hope you like! Anna xo

Let's Get Digital with Kira

Hey friends!  It's Kira and I am back with a new scrapbook layout using some of the digitals available in the Citrus Twist Kits shop. Here's a look at my layout:

I started by cutting out the Chasing Rainbows cut file (which is a subscribers only cut file...another reason to subscribe my friends!)on white cardstock.  I sized it at 7.5" wide so it would fit nicely on my page with a tiny bit of room on each side of it.  I used washi to adhere it to my page where it would eventually be glued down, and then used my piercing tool to punch holes in my background paper where I would eventually stitch with embroidery floss.

The stitching went really quickly since they were such basic lines.  I stuck with a muted rainbow that coordinated with colors in the Life Crafted kit.  Once the stitching was complete, I used some liquid adhesive and glued the cut file to the background.

I decided to scrapbook a recent photo of me sunbathing on my new outdoor reclining chair (so I apologize for the very pale legs featured on this page).  It was so nice for a few weeks here, that I thought I could tan a little for our trip next month...but the weather has been pretty dismal since I took that photo.  Keeping my fingers crossed that the weather warms up again soon!

I used the blue puffy stickers for my title "Sun Shiny Days".  Then I created three clusters around the page using the floral cut aparts.  I layered some die cuts and stickers around the flowers but I really like how the yellow flowers draw your eye around the page.

I finished the layout by adding some yellow splatters around the page.  And that's it!  Tell me, what are YOUR favorite digitals from this month's selection?

Let's Get Digital - Rise + Shine Daily Grind by Wendy Morris-Saponaro

I’m excited to join you all again this month as Guest Designer for Citrus Twist Kits! The Life Crafted™ kits are literally giving me LIFE and just the ticket to capturing the everyday life!

As a Hybrid Artist, I’m truly loving the digitals that coordinate with the kit and how they design up perfectly to use with the embellishments already in the kit.  I’m visiting with you all again this month to share more inspiration with the April digitals.

On a side note, the Citrus Twist Kits Puffy Stickers are just “puffy perfection”.  You know how some puffy stickers can be too puffy?! I know you feel me.  Yep. However, these puffy stickers are just the right amount of puff and not too fluff (rhyming not intentional) which is great for my Traveler’s Notebook pages without the bulk.

Coffee lovers unite!

The April Life Crafted™ “Make It a Venti” kit was created JUST FOR YOU!  I will admit that I’m not a diehard coffee fan (as in need a coffee or caffeine STAT upon waking up).  I’m more of a 99% milk, 1% coffee kinda’ girl.  Ok, I’m weak. Ha! I’m more of a Frappuccino lover.  However, my husband, on the other hand is Southern Italian and takes his coffee VERY religiously (or seriously).  We have the Breville espresso machine at home and he takes his caffeinated espresso “shot to the blood” first thing in the a.m.

So, if you are in the similar league, you will love the kit this month! Also, you might want to grab up the April 2019 This Is Life “Daily Grind” Stamp as well since it screams coffee magic from top to bottom.  The “rise + shine” phrase was included in the March Life Crafted™ “Life Chapters” kit.

I re-sized the digital Life Crafted™ “Life Chapters” Journaling Cards – April 2019 to a “mini version” in a project template after the Print & Cut feature was applied to each image.  Also, I used some of those awesome Citrus Twist Kits puffy stickers to complement among the mini pocket cards.

I wanted to mimic the Starbucks holiday “red cup” from my photo.  So, I used the similar cup stamp from the April 2019 This Is Life “Daily Grind” Stamp  and stamped the image three times onto red, kraft and white cardstock.  Then, I cut out the areas from each cardstock color and layered them.  It’s all about expanding the use of your stamps, right?!

The April 2019 “Make It a Venti” Cutaparts has labels that can be re-sized and used for stamping phrases, words, tidbits of journaling and even adding the fun rose gold letter stickers (included in the kit this month).  The labeled tabs from Cutaparts are a fun touch to add in layering up or spotlighting a photo on your layout.

Did you find this article helpful?  I challenge YOU to head over the Citrus Twist Kits shop and grab up your faves in the Digital Files!  Create it up, then, come back to this blog post and share up how you used the digital files in your next project.
