GRATEFUL LAYOUT with Nathalie

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today with a layout using the beautiful November Add-on kit.   As our US friends set to celebrate Thanksgiving this week, it is always a good time to reflect, and for many document on what we are thankful for.   I chose to document a picture of the relationship our daughter and fur baby share.

I started with the Grateful cut file (available for free to subscribers) as the focus for the page.  When cutting the image, i made sure to highlight only the flower area of the cut file, so that the Silhouette will only cut the floral cluster twice more - there were little pieces of cardstock that had to be fussy cut out from the die cut so that i could fully isolate the florals-.

I backed each of the floral clusters using papers from the add on kit ( the color palette in this month's kits is amazing).   I chose to use vellum to back the title part of the die cut, as it brings softness and translucency to the die cut that will make the background stand out, too!

A little bit of mixed media was all that i needed to bring some color and softness to the background.  I prepped a foundation paper (Vicki Boutin) with gesso and then added  bit of liquid watercolor in shades of teal so that it complements to colors in the flower clusters.

My choice of adding the picture of my two babies to the top of left corner of the layout helped me to create a soft diagonal design for my page.   I backed the picture with papers from the add-on kit and added a few pieces of ephemera to create a cluster at the top left corner of the page.

I added a few puffy stickers throughout the floral cluster of the page, and then used this month's stamps to add a few sentiments to each of the clusters. I added my lines of journal to the right of the title, and then finished the page with a few drops of gold ink.

The soft color of the mixed media background, the translucency of the title and all the floral clusters bring life to this page all about gratitude, and love.

Thank you so much for joining me today, remember to check the kits, stamps and exclusive  files ( it is always a good time to subscribe to Citrus Twist Kits), and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Picture Perfect documenting with Nathalie

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today with a focus highlight on one of the Subscriber-only cut files.   Each month, our subscribers receive a collection of perks -cut files, cut apart elements, extra PL cards-, and today i want to share a few ideas on how to use the PICTURE PERFECT cut file, and this month's AT MY TABLE Life Crafted kit and the Mini Halloween Kit.

Let's get started with a Life Crafted layout:

This month's AT MY TABLE kit is gorgeous, versatile and completely perfect for this story of my daughter's last first day of school picture (she is graduating HS this year).

I pulled the Life Crafted Screen  of the Picture Perfect cut file to create the title page for this layout.  I simply cut the screen to fit the page, and backed it with one of the Digital TN papers (the contrast of yellow and blue/teal is a fave of mine) then created a cluster on the middle of the page using elements from the kit.  I really love the floral paper, and had fun fussy cutting the images, and then there is the mini alpha stickers...

For the other side of my layout, i chose to create a cluster of papers and ephemera at the top corner of the layout.   I tried to repeat the same elements as in the title page,  so that the two sides are cohesive and then just added my lines of journal and a few more stamped sentiments from the TN stamp set.  Just love how this turned out.

Let's now check a second option using the PICTURE PERFECT cut file and the mini Halloween kit:

The mini Halloween kit features the new Crate Paper - Hey Pumpkin collection, and i couldn't resist creating  a page from one of our old Halloween memories.

This time, i am using the second format of the cut file and cut it from white cardstock.  I used some of the papers from the kit to back a few of the empty spaces of the cut file  - mixing solid cardstock, with patterned paper and some icons-  and attached it to the background using some foam adhesive.

A bit of black paint (Pinkfresh Studio watercolor available in the CTK shop) on the background makes all the details of the cut stand out, as well as all the clusters of embellishments around the page.  To finish this page, i added a few stamped sentiments inside the empty film strip spots using the TN stamp set and gold ink.

The following video will show you how this all came together:

I hope this gives you a few ideas on how to work the many subscriber perks on your documenting.   Remember to check all the kits, tools and digital files in the CTK shop, and consider subscribing ( if you are not a subscriber already)so you can have access to all the CTK exclusives.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions on how this came together.  I cannot wait to see what you create with this month's kits!!

Sunday Sketch with Nathalie

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today bringing you this week's Sketch Challenge.   We all could use a bit of help when creating our pages, and sketches are the perfect starting point.   Add to that the September add-on kit and you are in for a complete treat.  But let's start with the sketch:

And this  is what this sketch inspired:

I tried my best to stay true to the sketch, and almost accomplish it, but i needed to put my own twist on it, and messy it up a bit with mixed media.

This month's add on kit is packed with papers and embellishments from the new Maggie Holmes' Heritage collection.  I chose all the soft colors for the layers behind the picture; however i grounded the entire page by adding a layer of navy patterned paper at the base for the page (Shimelle's Collection).

One of the biggest changes was replacing the layer of paper next to picture with a pocket for my journal card.  I used vellum to create the envelope pocket, and alter one of the Digital PL cards to add my story using the computer.

I kept the embellishments placements just like in the sketch, and also decided to repeat the stamping details under the title using the Simple Word V2 stamp here.  You can see how it all came together in the following video:

Just love how easy this came together using the sketch as inspiration for the page, especially when including this month's Add on kit with it.

Remember to share with us your project inspired by the sketch.   We love to see what you create.   If you have questions on how this came together, please do not hesitate to contact me, and stop by the CTK shop to check the kits and stamps (there is a sweet promotion happening, too!)

KIT LOVE with Nathalie

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today just in time to start August.   The new Chasing Rainbows Life Crafted kit has been revealed - it is gorgeous!!!-, but this month's Scrapbooking Add-On kit is amazing and packed with a rainbow of colors,  papers and a hint of gold.   So what better way to show you the kit than to create a layout with it.

To create this page, i chose to enlarge one of this month's cut files to fit the page, and backed the flowers with papers from the new Pinkfresh Studio's Just A Little Lovely collection -which is included in the kit-.

To make the cut out stand i chose to add a bit of mixed media to the background using the Pinkfresh Studio watercolors (available at the CTK shop) so that it matched the color of some of the papers that are included in the Add-on kit.

This month's Add-on kit has a beautiful mix of patterned papers from different manufacturers that coordinate beautifully together.  I chose to use papers from Dear Lizzy and Shimelle to create layers behind the picture, and then nested it in the cut out.

As always, Trina has curated a rainbow of goodies to embellish your projects.   The selection from Pinkfresh Studio's Office Hours, Pink Paislee's Indigo & Ivy and Jillibean's Rainbow Roux made it so easy to create the title and  add small pops of color throughout the page.

To finish the page, i chose to add a few stamped sentiments around the perimeter of the page using the new  Words  Vol. 2  and some black ink.  The following video will give you a more in depth look at how this page came together.

What is not to love about the  August 2019 Add-on kit!  With a rainbow of papers, embellishments and colors, you are sure to  enjoy documenting all your memories.

Stop by the Citrus Twist Kits shop to check the kits and stamps, and do not hesitate to contact me with any questions on how this came together.

Let's Get Digital with Anna

Hi dear friends! Anna here with you today and I'm so excited to share my project with you where I've used the digital elements from the July Life Crafted kit. There are lot's of them each month in the CTK shop and they are gorgeous. Some of them are Subscribers Exclusive and a few of them are open for everyone.

Here's what I came up with.

The first thing I did was to cut out this beautiful sunray digital cut file( subscriber exclusive) designed by Nathalie. I sized it up pretty much and I love how it turned out backed with all these gorgeous papers. The papers are a few of the digital papers and one of the digital PL cards, also a few of the labels are from the digital cutaparts. One of the best things with digital elements is that you can size them as you want, sometimes type your journaling on the digital pieces before printing and you can print your favorite pieces over and over again.

These two labels are from the cut aparts as well. Though the lovely colorful hexagon is from the ephemera pack of the physical Life Crafted kit . Also I went for a bit light mixed media using some color mists in matching colors.

Here's one of the labels from the digital cut apart sheet. I've used the "Summer is Here" sentiment out from the Life Crafted kits stamps. Also I mixed the digitals up with a few of the lovely chipboard stickers  and some enamels from the kit.

I like to make small clusters using a combo of both digital parts and other embellishments from the kit. Also I like to add stitches and/or staples to my projects to get texture and dimension.

I had a blast while creating this page and I hope I could bring some scrappy inspiration into your scrappy heart as well! Be sure to check up all the gorgeous CTK digitals and have some fun. Also heads up for the soon to be release of the new kits for August. I promise you that they're smashing gorgeous!!

As always just ask away if you have any questions and I'll try to help you :)

Thank you for stopping by, hope you like! Anna xo

Summer Magic with Nathalie

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today bringing you a new layout that features the lovely July Scrapbooking Add-on kit to document a magical summer memory.  This month's kit is packed with beautiful papers and designs that will make it so easy to document your memories.

It was so hard and easy to pull pieces from the July kits to create this page.  However, i chose to start with a non-white background.  Once I found this light blue cardstock, my first idea was to add a bit of mixed media to the background.

Using the Pinkfresh Studio watercolors (found in the CTK Shop), I added splashes of color to the background.  While it dried,  i used  my Silhouette Cameo to cut two of the stars backgrounds (Subscriber cut file) from the white cardstock included in the Add On Kit.

In addition, i used another cut file (subscriber only) to create the title of this page, and backed it with papers from the add-on kit.  With so many choices in the papers, it was easy to create a summer masculine palette for the title.

A bit of foam adhesive secured the cut outs to the page. A few sentiments from the Add-On stamp set were also added to the background.  The picture was then set on the middle of the page - nestle between the cutouts- and clusters of ephemera and stickers from the Add-on kit and a few from the Life Crafted kit were added to the corners of the picture.

To finish the page, i added a small strip of paper to the bottom of the page, and then added a few gold ink splatters and lines of journal besides the title.

I love the final look of the page. This month's Add-on kit is so packed with beautiful pieces that will get your creativity flowing, and make it easy and quick to document all your memories -not just those Sunny Summer ones-.  Remember you can always contact me if you have questions on how this came together.

3-To-Inspire with Nathalie

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today bringing you this week's 3-to-Inspire challenge.   This month's The Best of This Life kits are amazing!  Lots of color,  playful designs and super versatile which made creating this challenge super easy.  But before i show you what i created, let me  give you the prompts:

  1. Document multiple pictures
  2. Use Digital files (cut apart elements/PL cards/TN papers/ Stamps/Cut Files)
  3. Add a bit of  Mixed Media.

With these prompts it was so easy to create two projects, here is the first one in my Life Crafted Album:

I started this page by printing the 4x6 PL card to fit the Life Crafted page (5x8.5in)  the used a bit of Vicki Boutin art crayons and a stencil brush to add the mixed media to the center of the card, and also to a piece of light blue cardstock cut on the same size.

If you follow my work, then you will know that i receive daily pictures of my Goddaughters, so i took 3 of them and printed them on photo strip .  I glued the picture right on top of the mixed media, and then added a few ephemera pieces and labels from the Best of This Life kit as well as added some sentiments using the Traveler's Notebook stamp.

For this page, I used one of this month's subscriber cut files to create the Sun cut out.  The sunrays were backed using the  rainbow paper from the  Best of This Life Kit and then glued to the blue cardstock  -remember i added a bit of art crayon to the background-.   The center of the sun was the perfect spot to add my lines of journal all about these precious girls.

To finish the page, i used the beautiful woodgrain chipboard alpha from the Best of This Life kit and paired it up with some sentiments from the This is Life stamp for this month.   A few scattered enamel dots complete the page.   This was so fun to put together, but now let me show you how i used the same prompts to create a 12x12 layout:

This layout screams summer, and was put together rather easily using this month's Add on kit and the three prompts.

I used the teal cardstock included in the kit as a starting point, and trim a bit of the sides.  Then used white acrylic paint to haze the center line of the background and set aside to dry.

While the background dried, i used one of this month's subscriber cut files to cut the floral images from smooth white cardstock.  These were set on the page so that they look as they are wrapping the background.   I used papers from the kit to back the pictures and bring the red tones in my Goddaughter's pictures ( she was so happy to play in the wading pools while visiting us last year).

I

I added a few  stickers from Pinkfresh Studio's Out and About and Joyful day collection to create a
cluster on the picture, and then added stamping sentiments around the background using the This is Life stamp set.

For the title i used a combination of Puffy Stickers from the Joyful Day collection - the words are included in the add-on kit- and the small ones i picked at the CTK shop-  then used a few more stickers from the kit and the Best of This Life Kit.   The cute sequins included in the kit were then added around the page to bring the colors to the background.   The following video will show you how the page came together, enjoy!

I hope this inspires you to use the three prompts and create a page of your own.  Remember to check the Best Of This Life Kits, add ons and stamps, there are so beautiful and versatile, you will love them.   AS always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
