3-to- INSPIRE with Marci

 

Hello Friends! It is Marci with you today. We are going to have fun with our challenge this Saturday. 

Here are the three suggested items to incorporate into your project, 

1. Use a pocket page.

2. Use a stamp set.

3. Document a topic that says a lot about you. 

For my project, I used the ALL ABOUT ME kit to document my routine of making an espresso drink every morning. Drinking coffee is something I am known for with my friends and family. My scrapbook pages about myself would not be complete without including this topic. 

I had fun layering several of the embellishment pieces from the kit on the full-page layout and the pocket cards. Pocket Cards and pocket pages are a great way to incorporate different colors and styles into your layout. Sliding cards into the pockets can take a lot of the guesswork out of designing a spread. 

Including stamping in two different ink colors, adds some visual interest to my embellishment clusters.  The small circle and asterisk on the Storytelling v2 all-about-me stamp set were perfect for this.

Sunday Sketch with Lory

 

Happy Sunday everyone! How are you? Summer is officially started and after a year and half of hard time we all need relax, sun and sea to rest and leave the stress behind. Don't you think? 

How is going your storytelling this year? I'm trying to tell random stories of that month so I'm gathering together the main and most beautiful stories of that month to document and record them.

Today I'm sharing with you my latest story told and archived in my June Life Crafted album using one of the adorable sketches from Citrus Twist.

I have loved this sketch at the first sight ,  it has inspired me a new life Crafted spread. I have used many  paper strips from the NEW! PEACHY KEEN 6X8 PAPER PAD BY FANCY PANTS DESIGNS that you find in the shop.  So I cut out strips, then in the middle of the page I have added the photo where I cut with a cut die a piece of it adding dimension with  3d double side tape. 

To complete the page I mixed up a lot of June ephemera, NEW! CITRUS TWIST BUTTERFLIES & TAGS DIE-CUT CARDSTOCK EPHEMERA , to be true some of my favorites ever. Drops of white acrylic paint ink here and there, the journaling with the gorgeous phrases stamps and the title from the alphabet stickers!

Sunday Sketch with Marsha

 

Hey friends!  It's Marsha here today, and I'm excited to be hosting the Sunday Sketch Challenge.  The sketch this week is perfect- full of so many fun details!

Here's my Life Crafted layout based on the sketch:

To begin the layout, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to fit as a full page in the album.  One of my favorite features of the sketch is the repeat stamping along the bottom of the page.  I chose a phrase stamp from the new Storytelling Stamp and did some repeat stamping using black ink.  I added some second-generation stamping to get variation in intensity.  A die-cut heart from the Hearts & Such Die-Cut Ephemera looks perfect adhered over the stamping.

I added my photo above the stamping, layering it over a piece of patterned paper from the Crate Paper Marigold 6x8 Paper Pad along with a doily and vellum from my stash. To embellish the page, I added some labels and a floral die-cut piece from the Hearts & Such Die-Cut Ephemera.  I continued to follow the sketch and added a stamped circular element using the Storytelling Stamp and light gray ink.

I chose to add the title on the left page of the spread and added it to a digital traveler's notebook paper from the Wild at Heart Digital TN Papers.  I also added a label from the Hearts & Such Die-Cut Ephemera and did a bit more stamping using the Storytelling Stamp.  To finish off the spread, I added some machine stitching to a few areas of the layout and added some puffy heart stickers from the Whimsical Hearts Puffy Stickers.

Open Post| 2021 starting page with Lory

 

Hey friends! How are you?

2020 is almost came to an end and to be true for so many reasons we are all so happy and relieved that it comes to an end! It was a very hard year even if I think it has taught us to be careful about what really matters in our life! Don't you think?

I'm already thinking to the size of my 2021 PL and I tanto to try the idea to do a 4x8 album for each month telling a little story each day or something like this, random.  So at the end of the 2021 I'll have 12 Life crafted albums and this idea makes me feel so excited! 

So as each year I have preapred my starting page with my intentions, hopes, dreams, writing about my expectations and my goals to achieve! I have written to myself a sort of letter remembering what I have lived this past year and what I want to focus my attention. 

Ok let's start showing you what I have created!

First of all I wanted an envelope to gather together something from the 2020,  a sort of link with the past year. So inside the pocket I have inserted a jumbo 4x8 manila tag ( to be true I am obsessed with them) and some tags and journaling pieces from the Marigold 6x8 paper pad. 

To create the pocket cut a rectangle of a paper of your choice of 16 cm width and 14,5 cm length. On three sides fold at 2 cm on the right and the left and 1,5 cm on the bottom. Then with the double side tape stick the pocket to the inside cover of your Life Crafted album. I have chosen the Sea Glass album.

I added a sort of truck in with another paper and I created the opening of the pocket with a circle punch.Inside the pocket I have added stories, thoughts, pictures. To embellish the pocket some tickets from the amazing new products, a little phrase from the ephemera and a bow.

For the first page my idea was to create a background with the 20 and then to give attention to the 21 , the new year. I have created the 2020 background with the beautiful BIG Numbers stamps, using the white embossing powder and the heat gun. I love this so soft effect. To print the 2 and the 0 in the right way I drew a sort of grid and in each little box I stamped the number 2 or 0.  The result is an effect I see I don't see :)

At last but not the least I played with the other number font of the same stamp set, the stencil one that I love to crazy and a flower, some leaves, some little phrase and some different stamps from Citrus twist. The mix of different fonts and different sizes of what you write is a beautiful mix! The True Life stamps, Simple Words 3 stamps  ,  Conversations starter 1 stamps,

To finish some black ink drops, one picture and the sewing machine.

I hope to preserve memories and build the life I dream to live together who I love.

Inspiration with Marivi

Hello everyone and happy December,

I bring you some inspiration with the December new products, a couple of projects that I hope you like.

In this two-page layout I have used a blank sheet, where I have placed the photo with the title, which I have adorned with stars, splashes and under the photo a lace.

Also a puffy sticker from a previous kit and an enamel dots.

Here you can see the details that I have sewn on the other page.

I have chosen this paper with a gold pattern.

With a die I have made this star with relief, and as a background a paper with flowers.

This star comes in the abc with which I have put the title.

For this I have used a sheet with bees and with several labels placed in layers I have written several sentences, I have also stamped a camera.

On the other page I have stamped "snapshot" several times to create a background and I have pasted some flowers on top of the photo, creating a bouquet that comes out of the photo.

Here I have also added various stickers from previous kits.

Pocket Page Challenge with Shannon

 

Hey there, Citrus Twist fans! Shannon here with a fun pocket page to share using the new December 2020 kit release along with some new stamps. The kit release is products that are typically used for traditional scrapbooking but I'm going to show you how you can use it in your pocket pages too. 

Since I was using such a variety of products on the page, I decided to focus on visual triangles and repeated elements throughout my page. This helps bring some cohesiveness to the page. If you look at the photo above, you can see that I used the heart label outline from the Get Messy stamp set along with phrases from that set and the Currently stamp set repeatedly. I used a bold black ink and placed them in a triangle on my page to guide the eye. Let's take a closer look at a few others. 

I used gold accents repeatedly throughout my page. In the top middle of my page, I arranged them in a triangle spanning two journaling cards. That definitely pulls the eye up. But I also tucked two more delicate gold accents into my 4x6 journaling card at the bottom. The purpose of this was to both break up the black and white accents on that card and to carry the gold throughout more of the page.

Next, I had some fun incorporating tags into the page. Since this is on the front side of my pocket page I had the freedom to let items stick up out of the pockets. I used traditional tabs on the top and bottom cards. Then, on the striped journaling card, I made my own tab by letting the top circle stick up over the top of the card. And those circle? You guessed it - repeated elements. 

Finally, I used two subtle accents to create visual triangles - enamel dots and word stickers. My page was feeling very...pink. I needed to add some color and these enamel dots were the perfect way to do just that! I'm also a sucker for word stickers so I had to add a few. Those create a triangle as well. Although both of these are subtle, they still do their job of guiding the eye around the page.

I hope I've inspired you to try using the December kit in your pockets by creating your own journaling cards. I can't wait to see what you create!

Life Crafted | Mini Album | Video | with Patricia

Hello CTK Friends!  Today I want to share a Life Crafted project using the August Scrapbooking Add-On kit.  

This kit is a great mix of vintage soft colors but also a great mix of vibrant bold colors.  I pulled the soft colors for today's project!  I started by cutting pattern paper from the kit with the Affirmation Screen cut file.  The middle 'LOVE SELF' cuts out separately, so after backing everything, I foam adhered it to make it stand out even more.

I used the pattern paper cut out pieces from the cut file to stitch and frame my left side.  I chose a pattern paper background that was a complement to the overall colors of the blush, peach, and grey.  After adding my stamping with the Typewriter Alpha Set, and typed journaling, I started adding layers to mat under my photo.  The doily comes in the kit!  And then finished with trimming a die cut, adding stamping with Stories stamp, and embellishments from the Add-On.

The right side was perfect with the cut file cut from pattern paper and then partially backed with more pattern paper and the peach textured cardstock.  To create more motion from the cut file, I added the large butterflies from the Add-On.  

I finished the bottom with a circle chipboard from the August Life Crafted kit, and stamping with the August Traveler's Notebook stamp set in grey and black for added interest and focus on 'reality strikes.'  I added black machine stitching all the way around the right page before adhering anything, and added the same stitching on the left side to create balance and repetition.

The video shows the measurements of the photos and the trimmed cards to fit the pockets.

These new pockets are great for adding layers, especially for this beach trip.  I printed my photos to look like Instax photos, but if you have an Instax camera or printer, documenting trips will be super fun and quick with these pockets.

Inspired by the Instax photo size, the Stories Stamp set, and the clothing tags from my daughter's recent Justice shopping spree, I created this little mini album using the August Scrapbooking Add-On kit.

I used the Stories arch stamp image four different ways in this mini.  You can see how in the video below.

I created a pattern of using the trimmed pattern paper from the Add-On to the same size of the Instax, the foam flower embellishments from the kit (a must-have), and die cuts from the kit, alternating until I finished with the gold doily from the add-on kit as well!
