Interactive Journaling using the Life Crafted kit with Kira

Hey there!  It's Kira and I am back with another layout in my Folsom Life Crafted album.  Today I wanted to create a fun, interactive element using the LC kit and a cut file.  Here's a look at my completed layout:

So, this layout originally had a title, using the new Paw Prints on my Heart cut file.  But then disaster struck and my layout got ripped!  I had to redo the entire thing and only some of the elements survived.  Let's first talk about the interactive journaling.

I created three hearts sized at about 2" wide, using my Cricut.  This is just the preloaded heart shape available in Cricut design space, so if you have a Cricut, you have this shape!  Then I took the paw prints from the Paw Print cut file, placed one on top of the heart, and used the "slice" tool.  I cut out the three hearts on the green floral paper in the LC kit.

Then I cut out three white hearts of the same size, without the paw prints.  I cut strips of paper measuring 1"x1/8" and folded the strip in half.  Then I attached the strips to the green heart and then to the white heart.  I added some small journaling strips to the white hearts so when you lift the green heart, the journaling will be revealed on the white heart.

I added some small embellishments to the hearts and adhered the hearts vertically on the ledger paper from the LC kit.  I printed a photo of Folsom on matte photo paper measuring 4.25x8.25.  I added a small embellishment cluster to the bottom left corner.

To bring in the red flowers to the right side of the page, I reprinted the photo at 5"x8.25 and adhered the ledger paper over the top of the photo, leaving the flowers showing on the sides.  I punched holes through the side of the paper, so the interactive elements wouldn't be tucked behind a page protector.

Thanks for stopping by!

xo, Kira
