interNATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY with Citrus Twist Kits

Welcome to our interNATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY 2022 Celebration!  We are so excited to have you join us to celebrate this amazing and rewarding hobby.  Our Design Team has prepared two days filled with inspiration, challenges, live crafting sessions, and -of course- prizes!

DECEMBER DOCUMENTING with Nathalie

 

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today to share with you what I have documented in my December Life Crafted (vol 1).  I document all the things, so I have planned for a two albums, starting with the Candy Apple one, to then move to a Fir album.  I had created a few base pages ( you can find the videos in the CTK YouTube chanel) that are coming in handy when documenting our days!

I used pieces from the Sparkle and Joy kit to embellish the page all about our Christmas tree.  I always take lots of pictures of the process of getting the tree trimmed which lead me to create an interactive pocket for my album.

I created tags for each of the kids pictures, and then used one of the Digital TN papers from the Comfort and Joy kit to add my story.   A few embellishments from the Sparkle and Joy, November Add on kit and my stash complete this page!

This year, I am trying to keep things chronological ( with a few extras in between).  We were lucky to start our December with a Snowy wonderland here in Toronto, so most of my photos are all about the day.  I used one of the Instax page protectors to add all my extra photos and lines of journal.

 To create my lines of journal, I used one of the Digital Tags from November 2020, I simply change the color and blurred the small sentiment, then added my lines of journal.  I added a small sentiment to the picture using the Weathering stamp set, and then finished the page with simple shaker pocket!

I took advantage of the b side of the instax pocket to create a layout about my family's love for chocolate Advent  calendars.  I was able to put a picture of each of them with their chocolate calendars and used the shaker pocket to add a small sentiment ( December 2020 Digital files).

Since I had a large title, but very little to the story, I decided to create my own 3x8 card.  I  printed my journaling ( December 2020 digital file) card then made up the rest of the card space with a paper from this month's add-on kit.  The title was stamped with coral ink using the Madison alpha stamp set, then used a stencil to create the embossed white polkadots.  A few embellishments from the Hey Santa collection (available at the shop) complete the page!

I love simple layouts ( one page layouts) for my documenting.  Once again, I used the back of the previous page as the starting point for these...

For this page, I used Digital files form Comfort and Joy to create the insert. First, I trimmed the picture to a circle using a die, then added my lines of journal to a Sparkle and Joy PL Card.  These were all attached to TN paper from the Comfort and Joy collection. Before attaching the layout to the album, I added a simple vellum flap -  the cut file used is from a past release)

For this layout, I used one of the TN papers from the latest digital release.  The file was manipulated so that the TN paper sits horizontally.   Just a few lines of journal complete the page.

Lastly, this year, I am adding a calendar at the back of the album with just a small snippet of the day's that other story.  The pictures are about a 1"x1", and  there is small list of the caption being worked as a companion.

3-to-Inspire Challenge with Nathalie

Nathalie with you today with this week's 3-to-Inspire challenge.  Each Saturday we host a creative challenge that offers 3 prompts as a starting point for a new project.  This week's is sure  to be a fun one with infinite possibilities.  Here are the prompts:

1. Use a Grid
2. Create an Embellishment Cluster
3. Stamp a Title

I pulled the July Kits, stamps and digital files to create my page using the prompts...

I love grid style layouts as they are symmetric and let's you add multiple pictures.   So, i pulled a few of the pictures and sized them to fit into my Life Crafted page.   I wanted all the details to pop, so i chose a patterned paper (add on kit) as the base for the page.

Once i had my pictures in place, i decided to replace one of grids spaces with a large embellishment cluster.  I used some of the cut apart elements, digital tags, ephemera, labels and enamel dots -pretty much a sampler of all the kit's goodies-  

I used one of the Wild at Heart Digital Traveler's Notebook  digital files to add my lines of journal.  Once i printed it, i used the new Madison Stamp set and Bailey 4x6 stamp set to create the title of this page.   The journal page was then glued to the background, and then i added a smaller embellishment cluster at the bottom of the page.

3 to Inspire with Amy Jo Vanden Brink

Hello!  I'm excited to be back with you this weekend with a 3 to Inspire challenge!  This month I'm going a little bit outside of the box for my 3 things, and I hope to encourage you to do the same.  

I started by gathering my 3 items;

1- the Gold Puffy Alphabet (swoon!)

2- the numbered tags from the ephemera package (double swoon!)

3- the digital ephemera pieces (I don't often go hybrid in my pocket pages, but these elements were too good to pass up!

I started by using the digital pieces to create 4 cards, the Friday, Saturday, Sunday tabs at the top of a white 3x4 card, and the weekend file folder printed at a width of 4 inches (the width ends up being more than 3 inches, but I cut off the side I didn't want).  I also printed the black RELAX circle at a size that I knew I would be able to use one of my circle punches to cut out (1.5 inches) and the blue "always on my heart" tag I enlarged to fill a 3x4 card.

I used the gold puffy letters to add the dates and then to highlight some of the activities we did over the weekend as well.  I always like using an alphabet like this to create connection across the spread and add some context to photos.

The numbered tags were so awesome in the ephemera pack, that I knew I wanted to use them all together rather than split them up.  So I spread them across the photos and cropped edges off as necessary to make them fit on the sides and tops of photos.

I hope this pocket page gives you some inspiration on how to use those digital elements!  You may have noticed I managed to sneak a 4th item in there, I cannot resist the puffy hearts, so a few of them ended up joining the tags!

Sunday Sketch with Nathalie

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today bringing you this week's Sketch Challenge.   We all could use a bit of help when creating our pages, and sketches are the perfect starting point.   Add to that the September add-on kit and you are in for a complete treat.  But let's start with the sketch:

And this  is what this sketch inspired:

I tried my best to stay true to the sketch, and almost accomplish it, but i needed to put my own twist on it, and messy it up a bit with mixed media.

This month's add on kit is packed with papers and embellishments from the new Maggie Holmes' Heritage collection.  I chose all the soft colors for the layers behind the picture; however i grounded the entire page by adding a layer of navy patterned paper at the base for the page (Shimelle's Collection).

One of the biggest changes was replacing the layer of paper next to picture with a pocket for my journal card.  I used vellum to create the envelope pocket, and alter one of the Digital PL cards to add my story using the computer.

I kept the embellishments placements just like in the sketch, and also decided to repeat the stamping details under the title using the Simple Word V2 stamp here.  You can see how it all came together in the following video:

Just love how easy this came together using the sketch as inspiration for the page, especially when including this month's Add on kit with it.

Time Together with Marsha

Hey friends!  Marsha here today sharing a layout in my traveler's notebook.  I used the NEW September Explore Life Crafted Kit to create this spread.  It is such a beautiful kit, and the colors are gorgeous!

Here's a look at the layout I created:

For my spread today, I documented a photo of my mom and me, taken last month.  Every year, around our birthdays, we spend a day together shopping, eating lunch at our favorite restaurant, and just enjoying the day.  It is such a fun tradition!

I began my layout by printing two of the digital Traveler's Notebook grid papers, altering them slightly in Photoshop to remove the word "FUN" from the bottom of the paper.  I love that Citrus Twist is now offering this option of digital TN papers!  Next, I chose one of the 4x6 journaling cards and trimmed it to fit in the TN.  I love the design of this card, and it works perfectly with my photo.  I also trimmed a woodgrain paper from the kit and layered it behind the journaling card.  To embellish around the photo, I did some stamping using the Explore Life Crafted Kit Stamp and added some of the ephemera pieces and puffy stickers.

To complete this area, I added some machine stitching using a zig-zag stitch.  I love the texture and interest it adds to a page!

For the title, I used the chipboard alpha and a stamp from the kit.  I added some ephemera pieces and a puffy sticker and added more machine stitching to complete the page.

This TN layout came together so quickly using this kit!

KIT LOVE - EXPLORE KIT

Hello everyone!
A new month, a new set of stories and memories to document.   This month our Life Crafted Kit: EXPLORE is packed a colorful array  of papers, embellishments and stamps that will help you document all your everyday moments.   The EXPLORE kit has a soft focus on all those adventurous trips and travels (big, small, local or abroad) and the stories they can tell.

September also marks the beginning of a new Creative Team term, and we have a group of designers that have been creating beautiful projects to inspire you.  We are sure you are going to love what they have created.  So who better to answer this question, than our new design team:

MY FAVORITE PART OF THE EXPLORE KIT IS...

The Chipboard Alpha and Puffy Stickers

  

The puffy stickers!! So cute and easy to use!

 Just ONE favorite?!  Ok, then I will say the puffy stickers, can't get enough of them.  Oh, and those patterned papers of course!  Oops, that's obviously two favorites... lol!

  I can't never get enough of the patterned papers!

My favorite part of the kit is the "Simple Words" stamp set. I can use it OVER and OVER and OVER again for GOOD days, BAD days, FUNNY days and SAD days.

The floral die cuts and grid paper!  Can we have those two things in every kit?  😉

Oh boy, there are so many beautiful things in this kit that is hard to pick a favorite!  But I'll have to go with the cards.   They 're perfect for documenting our adventures! 

   I love the stamp set and the bright colors from the patterned papers! 

  I adore the 6x8 papers!  The patterns are so unique and the floral papers are fabulous!

  The stamps set and chipboard alphabet are my favorites.

 I love the puffy stickers, and all those digital files that i can customize for my pages!

  The physical 6x8 option and the digital LC option of the papers!! You guys think of everything! 

I absolutely love the floral die cuts, the chipboard alphabet and the journaling cards...all gorgeous and can be used for so many projects!
