Hello CTK Friends! Hope you are enjoying some crafting time. If you need a jumpstart, I have a 3-to-Inspire for you that I think will be fun!
Hi Friends, and Happy Weekend!
Today, I’m here to share with you some Life Crafted Album inspiration in the new 6x8 albums which truly are such a dream. I am the type of paper crafter who likes to incorporate different sizes together within a memory planning format- the larger Life Crafted size has totally fit the bill because I can document memories with or without page protectors. Currently, I am in the Midnight Black album, it’s stunning!
For this layout, I created a mixed media background to play off of all the fun and lively colors in the new CTK Exclusive Sunshine Mini Kit.
Using the Canva free online app, I was able to format the digital Traveler's Notebook papers into circular elements which I used to build onto my mixed media background paired with the circle chipboard pieces from the Sunshine Chipboard Stickers.
I then used some additional pieces from the Sunshine Puffy Stickers and the Sunshine Die Cut Ephemera pieces to layer in and work on a diagonal to emphasize the look I was going for.
On the other side of the layout, for the pocket page, I used the Page protector #12 style with two journal cards from the Digital Journal Cards and then for the 3x4 card I wanted to pull a very neutral base to balance all the bring colors and serve as a contrast to my title so I trimmed down one of the digital Traveler’s Notebook papers.
Hybrid layouts are so fun to create especially when you are mixing and matching different memory keeping formats. I hope this layout gave you some inspiration to try mixing and matching different styles of memory keeping within your 6x8 albums.
Hey friends! It's Ashley, and I'm so excited to join you for today's Sunday Sketch!! I have loved working with sketches since I started scrapbooking and I still love using them today. Here's a look at this week's sketch!
I altered the sketch just a bit to make it work in my Life Crafted album, but you can definitely still see the same design in my layout. It was so fun working with the gorgeous Sunshine Mini Kit for August!
I spread the photo area out a little bit and still used 3 photos. But, I used the extra space in between them to add my title, which I lowered just a bit from the original sketch. I used the cute rainbow burst paper from the Sunshine Traveler's Notebook digital papers for the large circle in the background.
Making just these small adjustments to the sketch, allowed me to include my photos without having any of them down the center cut of my TN pages. I don't mind cutting through a photo when I'm creating a TN layout, but if I don't have to, that's always a huge bonus!
I wanted to use the "here for this" piece from the ephemera pack for my journaling. Since, I didn't have a lot to write about a beach day, this was the perfect size and instead of extending it fully across the page, I moved it over to the right hand side.
I finished off my layout with a couple of embellishment clusters on the top and bottom of the opposing pages, to get that same look from the sketch.
If you find yourself struggling to come up with page design ideas for your layouts, then sketches are a great way to help kick-start your creativity. And they can make your craft time a lot faster, by cutting down on the time spent focusing on putting together a design.
This week's sketch can be used for whatever type of project you are creating, so I hope you have fun with it like I did!
Hi Everyone! Happy Saturday! It's Diane, here with this week's 3 To Inspire. I am so excited to be working with the beautiful SUNSHINE Mini Kit and the August Digitals this month! This kit is just so bright and happy, perfect for your summertime photos!
Here are my prompts to inspire you:
1. Use the digital TN papers as your background
2. Use tags on your layout
3. Create a flip-up or flip-out to add more photos
Here is my layout using the three prompts:
I had so much fun with this one! I am documenting my flower garden, which brings me so much happiness! I knew I wanted to add quite a few photos so that is where the flip-up and tags came in. I was able to keep the clean look but still have lots of photos, adding 4 additional photos and a spot for journaling to the layout.
I added a little label to the bottom right of the photo on the left so that anyone looking at the layout would know to lift it. I then added two photos and some journaling to the tags on the right and tucked them in a little glassine bag. Some embroidery floss to the tags brought in some more color to the layout.
Hi there!
Nathalie with you today to share a bit of Life Crafted Inspiration featuring our new Sunshine mini kit and SUNSHINE digital files. If you are in the Northern Hemisphere, then you are also experiencing this extreme heat wave. Well, there is nothing better than a cool treat to get some refreshment, and that is the focus of my layout.
I love how this turned out, and it was all about adding a bit of texture to the pages through hand stitching and floating elements!
I started by hand stitching -with coordinating embroidery floss- all the lines of the sunburst paper from the Sunshine Digital Patterned papers. Just put on a Netflix show, and stitch away, I went!
After all the stitching was done, I placed my photo, and added a few embellishment pieces in clusters at the top and bottom of the picture. I used various enamel dots ( from the CTK shop) to accent the color of the sunburst lines.
To balance the texture on the sunburst page, I am using a simpler design for the journal page. This time, I am continuing to add texture, by adding some string to one of the frames (Sunshine ephemera).
By adding the string, and hanging it from the top of the page, I am giving the page some dimension and following the stitching texture to this page.
I hope this gives you some ideas on how to use our new Sunshine kit in your Summer documenting!
XO
