3-to-Inspire with AMY

Happy New Year everyone!  I'm excited to share my first blog post as a Creative Team member!  For today's 3-to-Inspire, I am using the new Fresh Starts kit.  For the past three years, I have created a monthly project life album for my family, mainly using pocket pages.  This will be the opening page in my 2022 album.

Here are my 3-to-inspire:

1.  Die Cut Ephemera

2.  Tiny Word Stickers

3.  Double-Sided 3x4 Journaling Cards

I was initially drawn toward the Die-Cut Ephemera for this layout because of the 1,2,3 tags, since there are three people in my family.  I cut the tags with 1 and 2 on them so they fit better over the pictures, and so I could use the extra bits on different sections of the layout to create continuity.  Yes, it's ok to cut up your ephemera!  I give you permission.  I also ended up also adding the yellow tag in the upper right and the long octagonal tag in the bottom left, which I popped up to give a bit of dimension.

I really like the Tiny Word Stickers in this kit, because they have lots of fun phrases, and are great
jumping-off points for storytelling.  I knew I wanted to "introduce" my family on this page, and the "not without my monkeys" seemed like the perfect headline to do so.  The fact that the type is a lovely, shimmery gold didn't hurt either.

I used both the digital and physical Double-Sided Journaling Cards for this layout.  I have been using digital journal cards more and more recently, not because I dislike handwritten journaling, (I love it, and think it is a really important element in memory keeping), but because I can physically fit more words on the cards when I type them.  I like that this kit offers a lot of different color options for journal cards as well.  The color palette for my layout was fairly neutral, and I didn't want my journaling cards to overshadow the photos, so I picked ones with a more neutral hues to match.  I used a lined card to hold my journaling, and rectangle-and-half circle card to hold my stamped tag.

I hope this post inspired you to look at different elements of this kit in a new way.  Now, go and create something beautiful today.

Life Crafted with Ingunn

Happy 2022, everyone! January is the perfect time to finish one's December album. So what am I doing? Well, I'm going back and working on my Winter 2021 album instead, of course!

When the pandemic started, I had a really hard time scrapbooking. Not just because having the kids home all day err' day and my husband working from home in my scrapbook room (HOW DARE HE) made it hard to find time, but because the thought of filling an entire, huge scrapbook page seemed overwhelming for my 2020-addled brain. Enter Life Crafted albums...they were so cute and colorful and mood-boosting, and the size felt doable.

Slowly but surely, I started filling them up, making little collections of stories about how our family was finding our way through the pandemic. I have a summer album full of hiking and ice cream, an autumn album full of hiking and socially-distanced trick-or-treating. I have a winter album full of hiking and hygge.

Eagle-eyed readers may have noticed a common theme to these seasonal albums: hiking! And this spread is no different. It's about how we would take our kids out hiking and pretend camping in one of our local forests, while also handing off parenting duties to each other so both of us adults could get our weekly long runs in.

I measured out the puffy title I wanted to use, then left room for it on my blank white page when I wrote my journaling. I also divided the journaling into three spaces that roughly corresponded with the size and content of my photos. Then I glued the photos onto one of the patterned papers in the Fresh Starts kit, and added some of the puffy stickers onto the photos. I nestled some flowers from the Take it Inside Ephemera around the title, and voilĂ !

I hope you've all found as much joy and comfort as I have in these little albums lately!

Sunday Sketch with Lory

Hello everyone! Happy new year! Yeah!

New year is coming and before to start telling new stories and showing you a new approach I would like to use it's time to complete my December Daily 2021 album, don't you think?

Put your hands up is you are part of the team "I finish my album in January" LOL! I am part of it and I love this because to be true I'm enjoying every single moment I spend telling these stories and creating beautiful memories of them.

So today I am happy to share with you Day 14 of my album created using the sketch we purpose you today.

Here it is.

This time I was inspired to create a 6x8 page adding a 4x8 tag that I love so much.

Here you can find my entry...

To create this double page I have played with the Merry and Bright kit , I love it to pieces! I have a sort of minimal style and to be honest I can't put in so many embellishments, I need to have the idea that everything is clean and the photos and the stories are the main thing you see when you look at the pages.

I have mixed some old embellishments and the beautiful November chipboard frames. Love them! Some die cuts here and there and many papers leftovers! They are perfect to fill the page .

Some details follow...

The little details make the difference always.  Play and have fun telling your stories. I do and I love it, this is the perfect "me time" ;)

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Love, Lory

3-TO-INSPIRE WITH NATASHA

Hello Citrus Twist friends, Natasha here and I’m so excited to share my first project as a Creative Team Member with CTK! For today’s 3-to-Inspire blog post, I will be using the stunning new Life Crafted Kit, Fresh Starts.

Here are my 3-to-Inspire:

1. DIY word phrase background

2. Blue floral embellishments

3. Build your own title

I thought it would be a lot of fun to create my own DIY background using a stamped repeated pattern of phrases from the All the Things Stamp Set along with the new tiny word stickers in the Fresh Start Life Crafted kit. To create a seamless pattern, I recommend placing all the desired phrases onto the stamping block in an organic pattern and stamping it all at once versus each stamp individually.

Once I finished my background, I backed my photo with an assortment of patterned papers from the Fresh Start collection and adhered it to the 6x8 paper from the Basics and Ledger Patterned Paper pack. Next I moved onto building my clusters of embellishments with the blue floral embellishment from this month's Life Crafted kit as the main anchor to create a visual triangle. I really enjoy placing my embellishments on the different layers throughout my layout to build more depth and texture.

Last but not least, I moved onto building my own title. Using the kit's puffy stickers I built my own title and even did a little sticker surgery, and trimmed down  the "sweet"  sticker to "we" to create my title of "together we cherish this moment."

I hope you find some inspiration in today's challenge with the gorgeous Fresh Starts Life Crafted kit.

Happy Crafting,

LIFE CRAFTED WITH DIANE

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be on the blog today sharing a layout I created for one of my Life-crafted albums! Oh how I love these albums!  They are the perfect size, and so much fun to fill!  I used the gorgeous January kit and Flea Market Findings kit.

I LOVE the feeling of fresh starts and clean slates in January and I wanted to have a place to document some of my goals for the new year.  The colors and feel of the January kit were just perfect to start this album out.

One of the things I love about the Life-crafted albums are all of the different page protectors. For this layout I decided to go with a full page spread on the left and two 3x4 cards on the right. I had so much fun layering all of the beautiful florals and butterflies...the perfect touch to a page all about fresh starts and welcoming a new year.

I am so looking forward to filling this album and documenting the big and small moments, the loud and quiet moments (and everything in between), that make up my 2022.  I will have other albums to document our family adventures, but I am setting this one aside for me.

How are you using your life-crafted albums?  I hope you will share on Instagram and Facebook and tag Citrus Twist Kits so that we can see your beautiful layouts!

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

Sunday Sketch with Alena

Hey everyone!  It's Alena with  layout for Sunday Sketch.

Here's a look at the sketch this week:

And here's what I came up with using the wonderful products of the January release.

I created a layout about my son. I changed the sketch a bit. Instead of photo #2, a cluster of embellishments was added.

I love Ephemera this month, it's just perfect for kids photos.

I used one of the puffy stickers for the title. Also I made origami stars and arranged them together with puffy star stickers.

I love these new stamps with handwritten font! I added a few phrases as a journaling.

Well, then it is time for you be inspired by the sketch to create a page of your own.  Remember to share your creations with us on the Citrus Twist Kits Friends page on Facebook or by using #CTK, @Citrustwistkits on social media.  I cannot wait to see what you create with this sketch.

3-TO-INSPIRE WITH ASHLEY

Happy New Year!! I am so excited to be on the Blog today, with my first post as a part of the 2022 CTK Design Team. There is a lot going on today, so make sure you check it all out. You can see the NEW products for January in the CTK shop. There is also a fun Instagram Hop happening today with the new Design Team...and there are some great prizes that you don't want to miss out on!!

Now, for today's post! I've got a fun 3-To-Inspire challenge for you. I used some of the January Life Crafted products with some of the CTK exclusives for my Traveler's Notebook layout.

Here are my 3-To-Inspire:

1. Use a shaped photo

2. Mix at least two embellishments (I did three - stars, hearts and butterflies)

3. Add a cluster around your photo

I thought it would be fun to use one of the large shipping tags as the background for the left-hand side of my layout. I placed a larger photo on the shipping tag and created a cluster in the top right corner, using some of the flower die cuts, puffy stickers and enamel dots. To balance the design, I added a smaller cluster to the bottom left of my photo.

On the right side of my layout, I used a fun circle grid paper, and thought it would be fun to follow the shape with my photo and embellishments. I printed my photo and used a 2 inch circle punch to punch it out. I placed it in the center of the paper, and I used the Orange Puffy Alpha Stickers to add the title around my photo. Once I had the letters in place, I machine stitched around it with my sewing machine.

I finished my layout by adding a mix of embellishments and some stamping. I placed stars, hearts and butterflies on the patterned paper, following the burst pattern. I love mixing different embellishments to add texture and dimension to my layouts. For a final touch, I used the January All the Things stamp set to add some phrases to the layout. I really liked the contrast of the black ink with the pops of color from the January products.

I hope you'll give the 3-To-Inspire challenge a try! It's a fun way to use the products in your kits, and find ways to get creative!
