3-to-inspire with Laura

Hello cuties! It's Laura here with a new project for the 3-to-inpired challenge with the amazing October Life Crafted "At my table" kit and the beautiful This is Life "Food stories" Stamp. They are so perfect and versatile, I love them!

So your three prompts for this week's challenge are:

1. Use geometric shapes.
2. Stamp in your background
3. Combine more than 3 colors.

You can use the Life Crafted album as I did in this project or you can adapt it to any kind of format you wish: pocket pages, traditional layout... The possibilities are endless, all you need to do is to have fun!

In these pages, you can see that I used part of one of the October cut files and cut it twice, so that it looks more balanced. This goes for the prompt of using geometric shapes but you can also cut your shapes with your scissors, diecutting machine or punch. It would look amazing to create a background with circles or squares as well!

For the background I used the 6x8' papers from the Life Crafted kit and the colors are just so beautiful! You can see that I filled some of the empty hexagons with many diffrent patterns and colors, they all match really well! Just enjoy playing with all the colors!

Finally, my favourite part of this project was to embellish it! First of all, I used the This is Life "Food stories" Stamp to add a little more interest on the background, I absolutely adore all the tiny food drawings, perfect to document any food adventures! I also used the Gold Metallic Puffy stickers to create the title and a few more elements from the October Life Crafted kit to finish my page!

And that's my project for today! I hope you get inspired and play along with me on this challenge, I can't wait to see what you create! Remember that you can share your projects on the Citrus Twist kits Fan Page on Facebook. And don't forget to visit the shop and check all the beauties it has!
See you soon! :D

Life Crafted with Patricia

Hello CTK friends!!  I hope you are inspired as much as I am from not only this team but from everyone in the Facebook group.  I am always inspired by product, even when I go shopping and looking at marketing and clothing.  But seeing what and how others create or document really is another great way to either give you an idea to try or to give you an idea to incorporate into your own style.

For this Life Crafted spread, I used the October Add-On.  I am very drawn in by these amazing colors!  So the first thing I wanted to do was use one of the pattern papers with a bold design.  I'm addicted to the digital elements and cut files from Citrus Twist, and I was recently inspired by Lorilei's 3 to Inspire Life Crafted Post here.  What inspired me to try is to use one the Screen 4 cut file in a different way.  I have always used it to either layer photos directly on or under them or as my second page with embellishments.  But I loved her idea of having it under one Life Crafted pocket!

The screen cut files really can serve so many purposes in our Life Crafted albums and be totally functioning whether they are a divider, an opening page, a place for more photos, embellishments or a title.  I am always looking for new ways to use them.  For another fun and unique way to use them, please see my Featured Video from September here where I used it as a stencil and then cut it to add directly to my page.

I used the Life Crafted Page Protector #2 for documenting using one of the cards from the Life Crafted kit, and then used the die cut leaf and heart from the Add-On.

For bottom pocket with four photos, I was totally inspired by Nathalie's Life Crafted post here where she used four photos in her Life Crafted Page Protector #3.  Doing this in my smaller 3x4 pocket worked with printing my photos small enough to still have a border around them and the photos' subjects balance each other without overpowering one or the other.  The die cut from the Add-On and heart puffy from the Life Crafted gave me the color, sentiment and texture.

This left lots of room for creative fun on my left page using the October Life Crafted and Food Stories Stamp Sets.

Using the cardstock from the Add-On kit, I stamped along mostly on the edge of it using the Life Crafted stamp, then I cut the inside out and backed with Life Crafted kit paper.  The scale of the images on the papers were perfect for this small space.  Then I used the die cuts from the Add-On to tuck either under or above some of the stamped and cut out areas, raising some of them with foam adhesive.  Then I used one of the gold puffy embellishments fro the Life Crafted kit for my title.

And finished it with the stamping from the Food Stories stamp set.

I have a few more projects to share using the Halloween Add-On kit.  I will have a mini album video using the kit coming to the Citrus Twist Kits YouTube Channel on the 19th, so all of these projects are leftovers from the kit!

First I have a set of cards.

On some of the cards, I added some stamping from the Travelers' Notebook stamp set and some of the cut files I used in the mini album that were leftover.

The Heart + spider web = instant inspiration to document when my daughter read Charlotte's Web and had to do a PowerPoint presentation about it.  We set up a spot in the house for her to do some filming.

I love 6x8 size layouts these days ;)

And I could have still created more projects with the kit!  Hope you picked it up.  It is an excellent complement to either the Life Crafted or the Add-On available this month.  Definitely pick up the Travelers' Notebook stamp set either way.  I think it is a great stamp set for all your Fall/October activities and memories!

Pocket Pages with the At My Table kit

I'm excited to share a beautiful layout with the Life Crafted At My Table kit today.  The colors and cards in this kit were perfect for some recent family photos that we had taken.

My favourite card is the one on the right, with the three bubbles, it is so useful to have a card like this to tell multiple stories on one page.

There are lots of great little embellishments in the kit, and I tried to use a variety of piece to keep the spread ineresting.  There are a few of the phrases from the chipboard, and the arrows from the ephemera pack.  I couldn't resist the the wood veneer piece from the add on kit, I used embroidery floss in  colors that matched our outfits to stitch the little heart design.

Here is a look at the whole spread, which ended up being a 6x12 page on the left and an 9x12 page on the right.  The whole spread was very easy to pull together because of the amazing colors in the kit!
I hope you enjoyed a closer look at this layout!

My FAVORITE things with Elizabeth

Hello friends.  I LOVE Christmas.  The reason for the season; family traditions; decorations; twinkle lights; gatherings; music; giving and MUCH, MUCH more.

When Trina asked me if I'd like to work with the Christmas Daily Kit, my response was, "ABSOLUTELY."  My mind began IMMEDIATELY swirling.  I kept thinking of the song from the Sound of Music.  "These are a few of my FAVORITE things."  That's IT.

I lost my dad 5 years ago.  He also LOVED Christmas.  As many of you know, when you lose someone, your PERSPECTIVE changes.  I became MORE sentimental.  Childhood ornaments that I used to hide at the back of the tree were NOW given PRIME real estate.  In this album, I will use WORDS and PHOTOS to share some of the things that are SPECIAL to me.

Today, I'd like to share the beginning of my album, including the inside cover AND reason why.

For my inside cover, I created a BASIC template of a house.  After cutting apart the puffy stickers, I began placing die-cuts and stickers INSIDE the house.  I usually start LARGE then progress SMALLER and SMALLER.

When I was HAPPY with my template, I drew a LIGHT pencil outline and started moving pieces into my album.  I used a scallop punch to create my roof, and added a window and door to BUILD my home.  I also used foam tape to add dimension to the die-cuts.

I'm a bit OBSESSED with tags.  MOST of my albums include tags of ALL shapes and sizes.  To open my album, I cut a tag out of kraft card stock.  I found a few stamps in my stash to create a subtle musical note background.  After, I created a title using a combination of script and the FUN, striped puffy stickers in the kit.  I finished with ribbon and a few stickers and die-cuts.

On the back of the tag, I cut and adhered some of the VINTAGE paper from the kit.  I used foam tape to add a couple of stickers for color and interest.

Next, I used one of the 3x8 journal cards to write my "reason why."  I shared a lot about my dad.  To me, WORDS mean much.

On the back, I included a 3x8 photo of the nativity from my childhood.  To embellish, I attached a die-cut and a couple of stamp phrases.

Stay tuned.  Next month, I'll share my foundation pages.  For me, a SIMPLE design formula = SUCCESS.

Pocket Life Challenge with Krystal

Hi everyone! This is Krystal, and today I have a fun Pocket Life page and challenge to share with you using the October "At My Table" Life Crafted Kit.

I decided to use the kit to document a fun weekend with friends here in our hometown. The theme of the kit was perfect for these photos! Of course, there was lots of delicious food to document, but the kit also has a lot of elements to document happy times with the people you love, which made it perfect for this spread.

I used lots of embellishments from the kit to create clusters on my photos, including several pieces from the printable cutapart sheet that comes with the kit. I love that this gives us extra bits that coordinate with the kits!

To give myself someplace to add my journaling for this spread, I created my own journal card using the This is Life "Food Stories" stamp set. This buildable stamp makes it easy to create customized cards to add to you pages, and I was able to make one that was absolutely perfect for my story.

And that is my challenge for you. Create your own journal card using the "Food Stories" stamp, the stamp set from the Life Crafted Kit, or other elements from the kit, such as the cutapart sheet, ephemera, or stickers. Use your creativity and see what you can come up with!

Of course, I'd love to see what you create, so be sure to share your pages in the Facebook Fan Page or tag me on Instagram! I'll also be sharing some of the other pages I made from this event on my Instagram account later this month, so be sure to look for that.

Here's the process video I made for this spread, so you can see how I combined the stamps to create my journaling card.

I hope you found some inspiration, and I can't wait to see how you're using your "At My Table" kits. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Picture Perfect documenting with Nathalie

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today with a focus highlight on one of the Subscriber-only cut files.   Each month, our subscribers receive a collection of perks -cut files, cut apart elements, extra PL cards-, and today i want to share a few ideas on how to use the PICTURE PERFECT cut file, and this month's AT MY TABLE Life Crafted kit and the Mini Halloween Kit.

Let's get started with a Life Crafted layout:

This month's AT MY TABLE kit is gorgeous, versatile and completely perfect for this story of my daughter's last first day of school picture (she is graduating HS this year).

I pulled the Life Crafted Screen  of the Picture Perfect cut file to create the title page for this layout.  I simply cut the screen to fit the page, and backed it with one of the Digital TN papers (the contrast of yellow and blue/teal is a fave of mine) then created a cluster on the middle of the page using elements from the kit.  I really love the floral paper, and had fun fussy cutting the images, and then there is the mini alpha stickers...

For the other side of my layout, i chose to create a cluster of papers and ephemera at the top corner of the layout.   I tried to repeat the same elements as in the title page,  so that the two sides are cohesive and then just added my lines of journal and a few more stamped sentiments from the TN stamp set.  Just love how this turned out.

Let's now check a second option using the PICTURE PERFECT cut file and the mini Halloween kit:

The mini Halloween kit features the new Crate Paper - Hey Pumpkin collection, and i couldn't resist creating  a page from one of our old Halloween memories.

This time, i am using the second format of the cut file and cut it from white cardstock.  I used some of the papers from the kit to back a few of the empty spaces of the cut file  - mixing solid cardstock, with patterned paper and some icons-  and attached it to the background using some foam adhesive.

A bit of black paint (Pinkfresh Studio watercolor available in the CTK shop) on the background makes all the details of the cut stand out, as well as all the clusters of embellishments around the page.  To finish this page, i added a few stamped sentiments inside the empty film strip spots using the TN stamp set and gold ink.

The following video will show you how this all came together:

I hope this gives you a few ideas on how to work the many subscriber perks on your documenting.   Remember to check all the kits, tools and digital files in the CTK shop, and consider subscribing ( if you are not a subscriber already)so you can have access to all the CTK exclusives.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions on how this came together.  I cannot wait to see what you create with this month's kits!!
