We hope you too are inspired by Vania's designs! You can see more of her work on her Instagram page
Hey paper peeps, guest designer Sarah Bargo here, and I wanted to
share a few more pages that I've been working on in my gorgeous Red Life
Crafted Album! I used the darling Sparkle & Joy kit to document a cookie
party I hosted in December of 2018, the colors were just so fun and perfect!
This night was so special because my older son made it home for Christmas (he's
a college student), also my mom flew in from Arizona to be here! So it was just
a really fun night and such a blessing to have them here, I just had to
document it!
Thanks for checkin out my pages! It was such a fun thing to
scrap, it brought back so many funny memories! By the end of the night there
was frosting everywhere lol! Thank you so much to Citrus Twist Kits for
having me, and I hope you all have a very merry and blessed Christmas!
Hello Citrus Twist friends! I am so happy to be
back again sharing another set of pages using the Sparkle and Joy kit!
Just to recap, I am using a gorgeous red Life
Crafted Album to house stories from December 2009 and of course all the goodies
from the Sparkle and Joy kit. This set
of pages is about Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!
I started these pages with a large photo of our
tree. If you check the tree you will see
that I added Sparkle and Joy puffy sticker ornaments to further decorate the
tree and two of the card stock stickers!
This photo is the same size as one of the Life Crafted page protectors.
I had to use the gorgeous journal card that was
perfect for Christmas Eve along with a photo in one of the 2 - 3x4 inserts.
When you turn the page you arrive at Christmas
Day. I cut one of the 6x8 adorable
reindeer papers into a 3x4 card for a lovely pop of red. I cut a snowflake and a round circle from white
card stock and added the puffy “25” and a gold star for a date card. The card below is is the back of the
Christmas Eve card and will hold journaling.
The next side is an interactive page I made for the 25th. I used a 6x8 Sparkle and Joy paper as the
base, and cut two thin strips of red paper to use as ribbon. I topped the “gift”
with the red bow die cut and two die cut tags. The gift page is adhered to a
base page in the album and opens from left to right.
Love the super cute die cuts!
The gift box opens as a simple flap.
Inside I added gift photos from Christmas
morning, embellished with die cuts and stickers! I love how it turned out!
Thank you so much for joining me here
today!Cheers to a happy December and
Merry Christmas to you!
VĂ¢nia here, with a fun idea for a foundation page on your
December Documenting album with the Sparkle & Joy kit.
December is just around the corner, but we still have a
weekend to prepare our albums.
I used the bell from the Icons cut file to make this page,
and cut only the outilne of the shape, leaving a little area attached in some
of them in order to make six flaps that i pretend to use to document six of my
December favorite things.
I like to have different textures, so on the right side of
my page I stamped December 2020 on acetate, using red ink, and the Typewriter month
& number stamp set and used the vellum scraps from to back one of the bells.
Also used the Sparkle & Joy
stamp set to decorate another bell, again with red ink. And cut one of the
ephemera pieces to fill another.
On the left side i cut the twelve from the CountDown cut file in gold cardstock to
mark the day.
Used the word Fun, from the puffy stickers on acetate, a
mix of stars and some vellum flowers to decorate the other bells
And that's all for today, thank you for passing by!
Earlier in the year I created a VHS video
travelers notebook using a Citrus Twist kit – I was a woman possessed and I had
so much fun creating this bonkers 80’s idea to store my favourite movie lists.
I knew that in my December documenting I
wanted to include a list of my Top 5 Christmas movies and I had a complete
lightbulb moment that I could recreate the VHS, but with a festive spin!
I used the candy stripe paper and a
template from my printable store to cut out the various parts of the video. I
used foam pads to raise up parts of the VHS so it had a fun 3D look. I added
another more muted gold snowflake paper along with a journal card which I cut
up and added puffy alphas and a gold puffy word from the Sparkle and Joy kit to
spell out my ‘movie magic’ title.
I cut one of the chipboard stickers in half
to use for the video’s cassette reel and some black cardstock from my stash to
create the reel of tape itself.
I’m a bit obsessed with adding fun
interactive elements to my documenting and this was no exception. On the
reverse of the VHS I added a background of mint and white Christmas trees using
four of the digital journal cards side by side to create a paper. I fussy cut
out the digital labels and added my top 5 Christmas movies to each one. I used
the red alphas to spell out Christmas and also used the red numbers to
highlight where each movie ranked in my top 5.
I really hope you like my project and it
gives you some fun ideas for adding interactive mini projects to your December
documenting and Life Crafted album. We all have those Christmas movies that we
watch each year without fail – this is a kooky way to document them.
Nathalie with you today with a bit of December Documenting inspiration using the Sparkle and Joy kit. Most of my December albums are always filled with simple interactive elements and probably an abundance of glitz and gold. Well, this year is no different, and I am loving all the small elements of the Sparkle and Joy kit and the new Christmas Add-On kit ( now sold out!).
I started this page around the simple glassine bag -in the top right corner of the layout-. I pulled two of the Sparkle and Joy kit to serve as the background and the banner for the page. Then pulled a few pieces from one of the Antique Findings kit ( Trina puts these together every so often, and I try my best to get one when I can), the Santa die cut from the Add on kit and also die cut stars.
I stitched the papers and the bag to the background, then bundled the thread tails behind the layers - adds texture to the page-. I used a few puffy gold stickers to create part of the title (the rest will be added once I add picture/s to the layout.
To tie both sides of the layout together, I created the small acetate flap. I machine stitched the stars to the center, and left a 0.5" overhang, so that I can create a sleeve around the picture if necessary. My idea is to add a puffy gold stickers as a subtitle so that it continues the look of the page.
Both my kids are Christmas babies ( which makes it an expensive holiday for us). So, for my next page, I created one of the two layouts for my son's 20th -OMG, he is not a baby anymore-.
I used the acetate idea from my cover page to create a flap for the one side of the page, and cut papers from the kit to create part of the title. I added numbers made from glitter gold paper and puffy alphas from the CTK shop. The acetate opens up to showcase a large photo of my son (to be added after).
I am loving then new Instax pocket configurations. This time, I mixed in a fun sequin shaker pocket and the digital tags. Here is video on how these pages came together, enjoy:
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. I cannot wait to see what you create with the kits!
Hello Citrus Twist friends! I am so happy to be
able to join the fun for the Sparkle and Joy collection this season!A big Thank you to Trina for having me!
I was thrilled to open the Sparkle and Joy
goodies when they arrived! My red album is absolutely stunning and gives such a
warm festive feel to the pages! I took
some time and went through the papers, cards, die cuts and embellishments,
mostly to ooh and ahh! I felt inspired
to go back in time and create a December album of 2009 photos. I was also inspired to centre the entire
album around joy and it made telling stories and selecting photos so easy! I really only had photos of Hannah that year,
so I ended up dedicating it to her for memories!
For my opening page, I kept it rather simple and
let the chipboard circles and gorgeous gold puffy stickers set the tone. I used a full size photo of later on in
December that represented all the fun colors the album would hold.
A close up of the page.
On the next page I used another full size photo
that fits into the Life Crafted Album pocket page. I added the fabulous puffy alphas included in
the kit in the white color on my daughters top with a gold puffy star!
To go with the photo and to begin adding some
layers into my album I created a tag from one of the journaling cards and made
an embellishment from another journal card. More puffy stars and some twine
added the perfect finishing touch!
Thank you so much for joining me today! I look
forward to sharing more pages from this treasured album with you!
