Life Crafted with Elizabeth

Hello friends.  I hope you had a MERRY, merry Christmas.  I'm here today to SHARE a spread in my Life-Crafted Album using the December "Hustle and Heart" kit.

For this story, I completed a two-page layout with a tag in the middle to hold my WORDS.

On the left, I printed a full-page photo of my son and his girlfriend.  To embellish, I did some repeat stamping in white space at the top and added a chipboard arrow.

On the right, I cut a piece of the COLORFUL patterned paper to use as my background.  Then, I printed a couple of detail 3x3 photos and placed the chipboard circle in the center.

At the top, I stamped the date and layered with a couple of the word phrase stickers.  To finish, I added a chipboard heart.

At the bottom, I added "SKATE" with the puffy alphabet stickers and layered with two of the snowflake die-cuts.

To include my WORDS, I cut one of the 3x4 journal cards into the shape of a tag.  After running it through my computer, I punched my holes and added some baker's twine.  To finish, I layered two die-cuts and a chipboard shape.  (I TYPICALLY embellish in groups of threes).

On the back of the tag, I cut and adhered a piece of the snowflake patterned paper.  To add some COLOR and INTEREST, I placed a label die-cut and stamped a small sentiment at the bottom.  (I OFTEN have things interact with the edges).

I hope you found some INSPIRATION.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  HAPPY crafting.

Life Crafted using December Add-On with Patricia

Hello CTK Friends!  Hope you have been enjoying the kits and inspiration from the team and other CTK subscribers!  This is Patricia to share a Life Crafted spread using mostly the December Add-On and focusing on creating a divider using a December Cut File, acetate, and the new Hustle & Heart stamp set.

I was very inspired by the flowers from the Hustle & Heart stamp set.  They have a geometric look to them and so perfect for the holidays.  I duplicated the Sparkle & Shine cut file and then did a mirror image of it so that I could sandwich acetate in-between the cut files to build off of the cut file image using these floral stamps.

I really did a lot of experimenting with this idea.  After my floral images are stamped using green and red Staz-On, I decided to use alcohol markers to color the inside of the star shapes from the cut file.  This is a cool way to add color through the acetate, but it did create some bleeding as it touched the cardstock, but I kept going.  As I kept going, the idea to then take the same alcohol marker holding it at an angle and brushing it across the star cut file image worked!  A happy creative experiment!

Once I started this idea, I kept going by adding an alcohol marker to the center of the stamped flowers, and then adding doodled stitched lines to the other star cut file from this cut file.  To help my see-through divider show the detail of the stamping and coloring, I used white cardstock under it and created that page to be both decorative and a place to add more interest to my divider's design and a place for journaling.

I used mostly the December Add-On stickers to decorate this page, but that deer chipboard piece is from the Life Crafted kit.

My left side uses pattern paper as the background with a large photo and a smaller trimmed piece of pattern paper layered over the edge of my photo from the December Add-On kit.  I used twine from my personal stash, a die cut, and stickers from the Add-On, with a heart chipboard from the Life Crafted to finish up that side.

I have a video showing how this experimental creative spread came together.  Hope you enjoy.  You can also watch it in HD on my YouTube Channel here.

POCKET LIFE CHALLENGE WITH ERICA

Hey Guys! It's Erica here with some Pocket Life inspiration. For my first project with the gorgeous December Hustle & Heart Life Crafted Kit I worked on week 46 in my 2019 Project Life album.

I was immediately inspired by the masculine tones and elements in the kit and knew I wanted to focus on the blues, grays and wood grains.

In addition to the Life Crafted kit I also printed and fussy cut this month's Free Subscriber Cutaparts. They are such a good source for layering pieces and labels to extend your die cuts! I layered one of the tags on my title card with the puffy alpha stickers for my week and dipped into one of my previous kits for the mini tile alphas to spell out the week.

On a lot of my cards I stuck to a simple formula of two embellishments paired with a label. I love combining the tiny word stickers with the chipboard or die cut phrases to alter the meaning of an embellishment.

On some of my cards I pulled a few layers off of the chipboard pieces so I could layer them underneath my labels. But I also left many of them at their full height to create some texture.

I was drawn to the snarky phrases on the stamp set which went perfectly with the movie quote I wanted to highlight. Instead of typing straight onto the card I grabbed a piece of vellum- which not only provides a bit of texture but is a fail safe in case you make a typo or can't fit it all onto the first piece you cut (and yes, I did both!).

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope this inspires you to work on some of your own pocket pages!
