2020 Recap by Angela

Hello everyone!
It's Angela here. I can't believe we are almost at the end of this crazy year. It's been so strange and sometimes hard to deal with and I am really looking forward to the new year to start.

This page is a multiple photo 12 x 12 inch layout to recap the year.
I created a collage in photoshop and printed it on photo paper. I left 0.24 inch of white border around and cut the excess. The collage measures in total 11 x 5 inches.

Underneath, I added two patterned papers from Marigold 6 x 8 paper pad that you can find in the shop. For the title, I used the Citrus Twist exclusive black Foam Alphabet Stickers and the green Puffy Alphabet Stickers, while 2020 is printed with Big Numbers Stamp. This stamp set has three different fonts and I used a combination of the three to write the date.

To decorate, I created three clusters of embellishments using the Tickets & Tags and the Floral ephemera pack from this month.

I also added a few chipboard Stars on the photo collage, without covering any face, just to add a bit of color to the clack and white photo.

That's all for today, my friends. I hope you liked the page and I wish you all the best for the new year.
Love, NG

Sunday Sketch Challenge with Angela

Hello friends!
It's Angela back on the blog. I hope you are doing well in your part of the world.
Today is a fun one because it's Sunday Sketch Challenge. This is the sketch that we invite you to play with this week:

I'm a huge fun of 12" page but this time, I used the sketch as a starting point for day 7 of my December album. Here is what I came up with

Angela_Tombari_Citrus_Twist_Kits_Dec20_1

For my pages I used a 4"x8" Manila Tag and a beautiful gold foiled paper from Crate Paper, Marigold collection. To accomodate the paper into the Citrus Twist album, I cut it 5"x8" and punched the holes on the right side. I should say that I replicated the sketch on this side of the spread.

The embellishments I used are mainly from the Floral and the Tickets & Tags ephemera pack except for the title. 'This' die cut is from Sparkle & Joy Christmas 2020 kit. I adhered it on top of the page with a white stitching. Underneath, I stamped the word Documented that comes from Get Messy Stamp.

The opposite page consists of a Manila tag I purchased from the shop. Here is where I placed the journaling. I wrote it with my computer and I stamped it directly on the tag.

Here is also where I placed the day. I stamped number 7 on a piece of white vellum and I punched it with a 2" circle punch. The number is from Big Numbers Stamp. I like this stamp because it has 3 different fonts which allows me to vary the numbers on the album.

On both the pages, I added a few sequins that sweet Trina placed inside my box, to visually 'unify' the spread and voilĂ !

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you liked how I played with the sketch and hopefully feel inspired to play along with us.
Love, NG

Gratitude Mini Journal with Angela

Hello Friends,
Welcome back to Citrus Twist blog. It's Angela here and I am so excited to share with you a brand new project, new even for me. November is the month of Gratitude so I thought to make a mini book to focus and reflect on the things I am thankful for.

Angela_Tombari_Citrus_Twist_Kits_Nov12_1

It's the first time I make a Gratitude Journal. I've always wanted to make one but I've never really felt the need until now. I know that there are specific notebook to help practicing gratitude but I am a crafty girl so, I preferred to do it myself.

Angela_Tombari_Citrus_Twist_Kits_Nov12_2

The format I chose is a small mini book. Since it's the first time I'm doing it, I didn't want to feel overwhelmed by big white pages to fill in. To create it, Legendary Life Crafted Kit and November Add-on Kit.

Angela_Tombari_Citrus_Twist_Kits_Nov12_3

The cover is made out of paper Falliday, one of the beautiful 12" papers from Cozy Days collection by Simple Stories. I measures 12" x 5" and it is wrapped around the pages with the help of a leatherette band.

Inside the cover, I glued a second strip of the same yellow checks paper so to create a pocket, just for fun.
For the binding I used two small disk ring, directly connected with the back cover.

My intention is to practice gratitude on a daily basis. For the numbers of the days I used the White Foam Small Alphabet Stickers that comes with Legendary kit. They were just the perfect dimension for my pages and the Citrus Twist shop carry them in several colors.

On day 5 I didn't have much time to spend on the Journal nevertheless, I managed to reflect and write down a few words.

I used one of the Pinkfresh Studio chipboard flair to create a fun and creative 'page'.

Another crafty page is the one of day 6, where I included this month card of Legendary Kit. I inserted it in a page protector that I cut to size, together with some yellow tiny stars.

I stamped a lot of words and phrases from this month stamps, both Legendary Life Crafted and November Traveler's Notebook stamps. This month these stamps, really speak to me and some phrases are so fun!

The stamp set I enjoyed the most is Legends stamp. It is perfect for my pages size and has some tiny icons that are perfect to add a touch of decoration to the pages.

That's all for now. I really loved making this project and I really hope, whatever the format, you would give it a try,
Love, NG

Sunday Sketch Challenge with Angela

Hello Citrus Twist friends!
It's Angela back on the blog with a new layout for this week Sunday Sketch challenge. Here is the sketch I played with

and this is my version in traditional 12 inch size

Angela_Tombari_Citrus_Twist_Kits_Oct25_01

For making the page I mainly used October Add-on kit. The first thing I chose was the paper for the background. I went for Very Dear paper from Marigold collection by Crate Paper. I am a big fan of woodgrain designs.

Angela_Tombari_Citrus_Twist_Kits_Oct25_02

Like in the sketch, I chose a big flower for my focal point beside the photo and I created a cluster of tiny embellishments all around it. Labels, stcikers, enamel dots and puffy stickers are all from Flourish Life Crafted Kit

Angela_Tombari_Citrus_Twist_Kits_Oct25_03

Between the two photos I added a ribbon that was in the Add-on kit and I sewed it directly to the paper.
The two photo are sticked on a pile of papers, included the beautiful old book papers included in the kit.

As you can see, comparing to the original sketch, I moved things around but kept pretty similar the top. I sewed a strip of patterned paper along the top border. Right below, on the left corner, I added a couple of hearts and enamel dots and I stamped a few words from Flourish Life Crafted stamp.

The title is in the same spot, beside the lower photo. Here too, I added a few enamel dots, hearts and a sentiment stamped in black.

The journaling is approximately in the same position than the sketch but hidden in a slit I cut on the paper. I wrote the journaling on a die cut card from Marigold ephemera pack. To hold the card, I created a little pocket on the revers side of the paper.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you liked the page but most of all, I hope you feel inspired to create with Citrus Twist kits. If you'd like to partecipate to the challenge, please share your projects on the Facebook Citrus Twist Fan Page. We would love to see your beautiful pages!

Fall Flowers Layout by Angela

Hey friends! It's Angela back on the blog with a brand new scrapbook page featuring October Scrapbooking Add-on kit and it's all about my love for fall, my preferred season at all.

Angela_Tombari_Citrus_Twist_Kits_Oct14_1

This month scrapbooking kit has plenty of goodies from Crate Paper Marigold collection. Its warm colors are perfect to document the season we are diving in, here in Italy.

Angela_Tombari_Citrus_Twist_Kits_Oct14_2

For the background of my page, I couldn’t resist to use this beautiful pink tartan plaid matched with a darker brownish patterned paper that peek from two of the borders.

The photo is from a flower shop in my town, where a friend of mine works. I love flowers so I always find a way to go to see her and the flower setting outside the shop, amaze me every time.

Angela_Tombari_Citrus_Twist_Kits_Oct14_3

Since I am documenting Autumn, I decided to use one of the Citrus Twist cut-files, the one called Seasons that has the word FALL. You can find it here, together with SPRING cut-file too, for those who live in the Southern Hemisphere. I cut it with my Silhouette Cameo out of the woodgrain patterned paper from Flourish Life Crafted kit and I sticked it to the page using foam adhesive.

Angela_Tombari_Citrus_Twist_Kits_Oct14_5

I surrounded the cut-file and the photo with pieces from the Marigold ephemera pack. I used one of the old book pages that comes in the add-on kit to backed the photo and I placed other two little pieces of the same old pages along the borders, sewed between the two patterned papers of the background, just to add a bit of interest.

Angela_Tombari_Citrus_Twist_Kits_Oct14_6

I used one of the cards from the die-cut pack to write a little note, typed with my old typewriter. 'Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall' from The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

To balance the design, I added a few strips of patterned paper at the top and on the bottom of the page.
Last, I stamped a few branch leaves from Ready For This stamp and added a few tiny puffy sticker flowers and voilĂ !

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you liked the page and got inspired some how to create with October Citrus Twist kits.

Sunday Sketch with Angela

Hello friends, happy Sunday!
It's Angela here and today I am on the blog with our Sunday Sketch Challenge. This is the sketch I played with this week

It is a beautiful 12x12 inch sketch with a single photo and a fun banner on the side. I created my page using The Best Parts Life Crafted kit as well as September Add-on kit. Here is what I came up with!

At first I planned to use the pink patterned paper from the Add-on kit, paper Blooming from Fresh Bouquet collection  by Crate Paper, but I preferred to save those gorgeous flowers on the reverse side for another project. Also, I wanted to get messy and create my color background. So, after the initial hesitation, I chose white card-stock for as the base of my page. This came with the Add-on kit too.

Just a little side note; the layout is dedicate to my friend Valentina, my sweet girlfriend I spent the summer with. Here is the meaning of the title, Vale is the abbreviation of her name and I stamped it on the layout using my favorite stamp ever, Citrus Twist Kits Madison Alphabet.

Now, back to the background. I used Distress Oxide inks in yellow, pink and green. First, I added some water to the pigment and used them with a brush, like watercolors. When the color was dry, I added a second layer of color of pure pigment using a brayer.

Instead of using tickets and numbers like the sketch, I fussy cut a few tags from paper Old School by Heidi Swapp and hanged them to a piece of string to create the banner.

I stamped a few phrases from September Traveler's Notebook stamp in black, to balance the page with the black title. Last, I added a few die cuts and stickers from the kits and voilĂ !

If you'd like to see me in action, here is the process video of the layout.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you like the layout and feel inspired to create your own version of the sketch. If so, please share it on the Citrus Twits Kits Fan page on Facebook, we would love to see your pages!
