Pocket Life with Jennie Garcia

Happy Coffee! I mean Monday! This is Jennie with today's pocket pages using the June Pocket Life Kit. In this spread, I mixed it up by adding the June Embellishment Kit

Since on this side I have 3x3 pockets I had to trim down a few of the cards and use the papers from the June Pocket Life Kit

These weeks were a little slow so I only use one page for each week. I'm not too hard with my PL process so I allow myself to do this often. It's good to have guidelines, but when rules are too strict it can stifle your creative process.

The tags that I used for the title are from the Pinkfresh Studio Sticker Sheet from the Embellishment Kit. On the right, I used a die cut from the Pocket Life Kit and the heart is also from  Embellishment Kit.

Those Case of the Blahs Stickers are perfect for situations like these. I cut the original photo in a circle and used a paper for the background. It somehow turned it into a happy photo.

In this card, I wanted to sticker sneeze all my "Z"s. I have so many! I still have mixed feelings about it. I love it but at the same time is incredibly quirky!

I can't believe I managed to keep this card so simple! The tag is from the die cuts pack and the label from the Pnkfresh Studio Stickers. The alphas are from an old Citrus Twist Kit. I wanted to keep everything at the center so I stamped on the sides.

This is one of my "simple' layouts. Ignoring the fact that I stuck more than 20 alpha stickers in a card.
I hope you enjoyed these pages! I am loving this kit! Take Care!

TN Challenge with Melanie

Hello friends! Happy to be back again with another fun blog post for CTK!

This month I’m bringing you a TN challenge – I would like for you to include multiple pictures on a TN spread, at least 3 to 5 pictures!!! Even though a TN is much smaller format than a layout or pock pages, it is possible to include multiple pictures.

To create this TN spread I used the June kits – June 2018 Cypress Pocket Life kit, the June 2018 embellishment kit, the June 2018 Unplugged stamp set and the June 2018 TN Itinerary stamp.

For my project I included four 2x2 pictures and one 2x4 picture. By mixing up the sizes I maximized the working/design space.
I created small clusters of embellishments to anchor my pictures and add more details to my TN. Even though this is an embellishment heavy spread it still feels light because of the white background.

So go ahead and use a lot of pictures on your TN spread, it’s totally ok!! Have fun mixing up the sizes, I can’t wait to see what you create!!!

Traveler's Notebook Inspiration

Hey friends! Kelly here with a Traveler's Notebook spread using the Main, Pocket Life, and Embellishment kits. The Main kit this month contains a Traveler's Notebook insert and I decided it would be perfect to document some of my favorite restaurants and meals.

The colors on the pig die cut and Pocket Life card dictated my color palette for this spread. The patterned paper included in the PL kit is one of my favorites so I chose to extend it on both pages of the notebook.

I used a 3x4 Pocket Life card to journal about the day, and then layered a label sticker and enamel circle to finish the cluster.

The pig die cut included in the ephemera pack in the Pocket Life kit was absolutely perfect for this page! I layered the photo on top of a PL card and then on a doily from my stash.

I have linked my process video below if you'd like to take a peek at how this came together. Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a great day!

Pocket Life Challenge with Jennie

Hey Everyone! TGIF and June 1st because the avalanche of gorgeous projects with the Cypress Kits is about to begin! Today I'm only using the Pocket Life Kit! It's full of gorgeousness!

Besides introducing this month's kit I'm also sharing a few challenges to get your creative juices flowing. My first challenge will be to take a screenshot or include a meme in your week. We spend lots of time online tagging our friends in funny posts. Pick one of those funny, cool or inspiring images and add them to your week! I used Georges MeliĆ©s' Google Doodle in my weekly spread.

Second challenge: Use a non photo piece in your pockets. I used a card that came in a subscription box. You can use a receipt, hotel key, gift card, greeting card, grocery list, tag, blind box list, etc.

This is probably the most simple title card I've ever done. I love the heart pattern so much, I didn't want to cover it. I just used the Outline Alpha Stamp, my date stamp, die cuts and a puffy sticker.

Third Challenge: Use your punches or dies to cut your photos in a circle.

Challenge Four: Try a new photo perspective. My cousin asked on a Facebook post to open your camera and snap a photo without moving your phone. I was at my desk at that moment so you can see my overheard camera and a peek of my banana and my forehead. So go ahead, open your camera and without moving your phone snap a photo! Isn't that ice cream card way to cute?

Challenge Five: What day is it today? In the die cut pack you can find the days of the week. Some days in the week are a bit different. You may have a sports or game day, a day to sleep in late, crazy Mondays at school, etc. Use those die cuts to point out those special days in the week.

Let's Recap these prompts:
1) On my phone
2) Non Photo Piece
3) Circle Photos
4) Change Your Perspective
5) Today is...

I hope you can take a few of these prompts and be inspired to document your life! Take Care! :)
