3 to Inspire with Diane

Diane here with another "3 to Inspire" challenge. You can find this challenge here every Saturday for those who need a little extra creative push to get scrapbooking, to keep scrapbooking or for those who just like a challenge! Your take on this challenge can be a layout or a PL spread and remember that you'll want to include all 3 prompts on your project.

Your prompts this week are:
    1.    Use a lot of sequins.
    2.    Add some hidden journalling.
    3.    Try stamping on your photos!

Here’s my take on this challenge:

In the bottom middle pocket I created a little confetti shaker card using my fuse tool. I stamped the sentiment a few times and then roughly cut them out before adding to the pocket with some of those gorgeous sequins and closing the whole thing up. A perfect little filler card! I added my journalling on the inside of a folded card and added some embellishments to the outside. And I stamped on nearly every photo I had! My new favourite white ink is Brilliance Moonlight White – SO GOOD on photos.

And here are a few close-ups...

Now it's your turn! Use the three prompts to create your own projects and share them with us here in the gallery and/or our Facebook Forum. You can also upload to Instagram, but remember to tag us @citrustwistkits. Looking forward to seeing what you can do!

Pocket Life with Pamela

Hello everyone!  I'm back with some Pocket Life pages and Handbook pages to share with you!  September's kit is so soft and sweet so I really wanted to use them to document the biggest event during the year.

Those journaling cards from Crate Paper in the Lucky Me PL Embellishment kit is my favourite item this month! If you're having troubles using it up, don't worry, there are similar designs in the 6x6 split paper pad from A Reason to Smile PL kit.

2014-week34-1

I used one of the journaling card from Crate Paper for my title card. I needed something bold against the soft colours so I grabbed some alphabet stickers from my stash.

2014-week34-3

That gold foil on kraft journaling card is to die for!

2014-week34-4

Here is the right side of the spread. The photo frames from Crate Paper are so fun! I am trying hard to not hoard them!
2014-week34-2

So what was so "big" this week? It was my birthday (ok, it's not really that big of an event!) I used the gold foil card from the embellishment kit. When I saw the "20" in the top corner, I added a sticker saying "August" to the side for my birth date.

2014-week34-5

And here are some photos that I took during the unboxing of the PL kit. The new packaging is gorgeous and Trina makes it so personal with a little bag holding all the goodies!

2014-week34-6

I decided to start a handbook to document all my travels. I will be travelling quite a bit this year so I wanted to make sure I have a place to put these special photos.

2014-Okanagan-1

The first trip recorded in my handbook is to Okanagan for the weekend. It was an amazing wine tasting weekend!

2014-Okanagan-2

Here's a snapshot of one of the first vineyard when we arrived at Okanagan. Beautiful weather and gorgeous scenery. What a perfect place to be in the summer!

And here are your PL sketches from last month and this month!

Pocket Life with April

Happy Friday, CTKers!  This month we got a glimpse of the new Pocket Life kit packaging and I've got to say, I loooove it!  The muslin bag was perfect in holding this month's kit while I was still working with it and it made it so easy to carry my supplies around the house (since I don't have a dedicated workspace).

Anyway, I'm here to share my Pocket Life Week 30!  This was a busy week for me, so this ended up being a three page spread.

The first of three pages:

The vellum envelope filled with gold sequins that came in the PL Embellie kit was perfect, so I used it as my weekly title card with the wood veneer from this month's kits plus an alpha from my stash.

The second and third pages:

Left side:

I only use a Canon Selphy to print photos, so the biggest photos I can print are ~6x4, but I wanted to incorporate this panoramic photo of my family.  To do this, I took my photo and edited it so that it printed one side to 4x6 and then the other side of the photo to a second 4x6.

Right side:  I used the glitter alphas from the Aug Main Kit to help document my friend's wedding.

I tried something different with how I photographed my spreads this month.  I usually take all the cards out of the pockets when I take my photos and then put them back in, but it was just sooo time consuming.  I tried Stephanie Bryan's trick on photographing her spreads upside down to avoid a glare and I'm pretty pleased with the results.  What do you think?

Oh, and of course, here are your sketches:

Pocket Life with Sam

Hello hello there! Today I have a FUN pocket life post for you. I want to show you my process video and also behind the scene of how I filmed my scrapbooking process video. And also, I have a mini invader dropping by while I was scrapping, so sorry for the shaky video ;)

Here's how I set up my iPhone up to film process video. I prefer scrapping on the floor because thats the brightest spot in my room without any shadow / dark spot while filming. I hang a phone clip on the tripod and place a piece of wooden board (exactly the same materials as my work desk) on the floor. Thats why you would see my little ones' walking around while I was filming the video.

**Scroll to the end of the post to watch my process video ;) Thank you!**

And here's the photo of the floor before I started scrapping. I always lay all the items out to see what I like and want to use. But, I never really plan my layouts or pages. I am an ad-hoc scrappers as things will never turn out the way I want it to be so I always like to just go wiht he flow when I scrap.

And how it looks like when I almost done scrapping. The little spool of washi tapes in the cups and bowls do keep my little one occupied while I was scrapping. He likes to play with washi tapes, enamel dots and also stickers. It is never too early to start young!

I don't know where does he get the idea from, he stick those enamel dots onto the floor, his toe nails and also his ears.

Okay, and here;s the pictures of my pages using mainly September Pocket Life and PL Embellies kit. I love the spread has little gold colour in it. This page is a gentle reminder to myself on the little things that I want to remember and also the two Instagram friends that I met in Bangkok and Shanghai.

This double page spread is full of colours and I especially like the pre-stitched 4x6 card that came in the PL Embellies kit.

I also used the vellum pockets that are included in the PL Embellies kit in one of the 3x4 pockets.

Me and my Instagram friends in Shanghai and Bangkok. It is so fun to meet people from all over the world that share same interest and passion as me ;)

And I also would like to show you this fun stuff that I got from Citrus Twist Store.

I love how compact this stamp cleaner is and it is more convenient (and easy to bring around) than using the traditional stamp cleaner that came in a bottle. After stamping, all we need to do is to press/tap the clear stamps onto the cleaning pad and wipe it off with dry towel. I use baby wipes here to clean my stamps.

Okay, the cleaning pad does became stained after the ink transferred to the cleaning pad. According to the instructions, this Color Box Cleaning Pad can be refreshed with Cleaning Pad refill.

And here's my process video! I hope you enjoy peeking into my 'behind the scene' on how I film my process video and also my mini invader.

XoXo,
Sam

Pocket Life with Jen

Happy Friday and happy September! I've been busily working through the final weeks of summer in our family album before my favorite season, autumn, moves in. Today I am sharing my week 34 using the gorgeous September Pocket Life and Pocket Life Embellishment kits. I may have squealed a bit when I opened my box this month and saw the new packaging. The beautifully presented, stamped muslin bag was like receiving a gift in the mail. In fact, that's exactly the feel of this kit! Lovely soft patterns and so many embellishments that it feels like the ultimate selection from a favorite scrappy boutique. Love...

JenB_Sept14PL_Pg1
The Pocket Life stamp set this month contains two of my new favorite CTK stamps ever: Noteworthy and Current events, in beautiful calligraphy with check boxes. One of my favorite ways to use the kit stamps is to add them to decorative labels.

I'd be hard pressed to choose a favorite embellishment this month, though the exclusive wood veneers are fantastic, and what a treat to have four complete alphabets along with word stickers!

Here are your sketches this week. Happy scrapping!
