Pocket Pages with Melissa

Good Morning and happy Thursday!

It's Melissa here on the blog with you today and I'm sharing some of my pocket pages made with the October Pocket Life Kit.

I really loved all the fun embellishments included in this month's kit. Plus, I got to work with the "Sprinkles" kit. I loved the chipboard embellishments that were included in that kit! I'm still working my way through July (I'm just a little behind!) and I love how the kits are easily used for anytime of the year you are currently working on.

Make sure you share your Pocket Pages with us! We would love to see them :-) You can share on our FACEBOOK page or in the GALLERY on the website!

Sunday Sketch with Aimee Dow

Welcome to yet another Sunday Sketch - where we give you the map and you show us the magic. In today's example you'll see I went off on an adventure all by my lonesome, but that's okay. Here is your sketch:

And here is my very loose interpretation:

I did originally start out with just 2 photos, but 3 made more sense for the theme of my page. My gorgeous god daughter was playing with her mum. It was a really simple game - Count to 3 and show Leianna the keys. To this day I haven't the foggiest what was going through her head, but 'on' 3 she would burst in to hysterics. Didn't matter if the keys hadn't appeared yet. The anticipation was enough. The big fat laugh totally made my day.

The number tags come from Ikea's new gift wrapping section and the sequins are from my stash, apart from that everything else came from this months kits. Oh, but if you are wondering why you don't have black thinkers in your kit... well, my gold ones had a little play date with the black spray paint ; )

Now it's all on you my friend - go forth and create!

Pocket Life Sketch Friday

Hi everyone, Diane here and it's time for Pocket Life Sketch Friday again! Don't forget that we have a giveaway associated with the sketches I'll give you at the end of this post.

The kits this month are AMAZING, I created four Pocket Life spreads, two layouts and I still haven't killed that baby yet! Here's one of my favourites this month, I created my own page protector using my Fuse Tool and a Design A style protector.

Here is the process video of how this layout came together...

And here are a few close-ups...

And now for your Pocket Life sketches...

Thanks for visiting Pocket Life Friday, where every week we share PL sketches and a chance to win. For your chance to win, create a layout based on the sketches in this blog post, post your layout to our Gallery or our Facebook Fan Page by Friday, October 23rd. 3 to Inspire with Aimee Dow

Happy Weekend and welcome to another week of 3 to Inspire.  You can find this challenge here every Saturday for those who need a little extra creative push to get scrapbooking, to keep scrapbooking or for those who just like a challenge and boy do I have it for you this week! Your take on this challenge can be a layout or a PL spread and remember that you'll want to include all 3 prompts on your project.

My prompts for you this week are:

1. Use contrasting colours.
2. Dig out your favourite liquid medium (Ink, watercolours, paint, etc).
3. Bring on the Veneers!

If you need a little inspiration to get you started here is my take:

I am super proud to say that the only things I had to pull from my stash is the neon tag, the digital "progress" file from Paislee Press, oh and of course the black ink. Everything else is from October's Main and Embellishment Kits.

I hope you will all come play along with me. All you have to do in put your entries in the Gallery and/or our Facebook Forum.

Until next time,

Aimee Xx

Tuesday Tutorial with Tara

Hello lovelies, it's Tara here sharing a little tutorial with card making. I love making cards with leftovers or extra paper and embellishments I have laying around. I thought I would finally give it a go making shaker cards, thanks to some inspiration from Jennifer Maguire Ink on YouTube.

Here are the supplies I used today:

- 1 Simple Stories page protector
- sequins from my stash
- Amy Tangerine Finders Keepers tag
  (Oct Sprinkles Kit)
- Dear Lizzy Documentary "Me & You"
- We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool
- adhesive

I cut out one of the 2x2 squares from the page protector and sized up how I would want it to lay behind the tag.

Next, I trimmed down the pocket and fused it on the remaining sides. Make sure to allow your Fuse to get nice and hot before using and use it slowly. I was a little impatient and had to re-do some of the fusing. I filled up my pocket with embellishments and fused it shut. Don't worry about your fusing looking perfect or pretty! It should be covered up when you sandwich the shaker pocket between the tag and paper.

I secured the patterned paper first to some cardstock, then figured out where I wanted the tag and shaker pocket to go. Then I adhered the shaker pocket and lastly, the tag on top. Finally, I added some finishing touches like the fun twine (repurposing it from our packaging), a chipboard embellishment, and some alphas.

Here is the finished card, awaiting a stamped sentiment and some writing inside.

Does anyone else make shaker cards or want to have a go at it now that the Fuse makes it much easier? I hope I inspired you to try something new! Please share your creations in our Gallery or on our Facebook Fan Page.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Xxo, Tara
