Hello, Angie here to share this week's sketch challenge with you. First, here is your amazing sketch:
And here is my take on the sketch. I stuck pretty close to the sketch. I love that you can use 6 pictures or change it up and add less pictures and some square papers. Let your creative side kick in with this sketch.
I used the May Main Kit and May Sprinkles Kit.
Are you inspired by this sketch? We love to see what you do with our kits and sketches, so please make sure to upload your projects to the Citrus Twist Gallery. And remember, if you upload your take to our Gallery by May 30th, you will be entered to win a $5 coupon to use on anything in the CTK store! Make sure to add "Sketch 5/24" to the title line when you upload. Have fun!

3 to inspire with Diane

Diane here, with my first "3 to Inspire" challenge. You can find this challenge here every Saturday for those who need a little extra creative push to get scrapbooking, to keep scrapbooking or for those who just like a challenge! Your take on this challenge can be a layout or a PL spread and remember that you'll want to include all 3 prompts on your project.
Your prompts this week are:
1. Use 3 photos
2. Use 3 different patterned papers
3. Use 3 pieces of wood veneer
Here’s my take on this challenge using the May "Be Happy" PL kit and "Celebrate" Embellishment kit:

Here’s my take on this challenge using the May "Be Happy" PL kit and "Celebrate" Embellishment kit:

For my page I used 3 pieces of paper from the Pocket Pages kit and cut them down to 3x4 cards. I also used the wood veneer numbers from the kit to label my journalling. Keeping all my photos black and white doesn't compete with the more neutral color scheme.

Now it's your turn! Use the three prompts to create your own projects and share them with us here in the gallery and/or our Facebook Forum. You can also upload to Instagram, but remember to tag us @citrustwistkits. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Layered Love
Hello! Today I just wanted to share a fun layout I did using the May Main Kit and May Sprinkles Kit. I don't know about you but I'm loving the new Sprinkles Kit. It is full of little embellishments and fun little extras to make my pages look amazing!
Any way today I'm sharing a layout I did lots of layering on. I love to layer papers upon papers. I even used the piece of fabric in my layering.
Here is my layout.
Hope I have inspired you to layer and can't wait to see your layered layouts in the gallery!

Confetti In Your Pockets
Hello Karen here today to share with you a layout I created using the May PL kit. It's no secret I love adding confetti or sequins to my layouts, they look awesome and give your layouts a touch of fun. They scream party to me. I had some left over scrap 6x6 paper from the kit so I grabbed my 1 inch circle punch & punched out some co-ordinating circles to add to this pocket.
I never put too many in, you don't want to overcrowd the pocket, give them some room to shake around. I also added some small wood veneers to this pocket as well, but you could really add anything you like; sequins maybe? I like having different size confetti, I think it adds depth to the pocket. When I'm finished I either sew it up or add some Washi Tape. I've order a fuse tool for the sole purpose of making more confetti pockets.
Add some confetti pockets to your pocket life pages, they look fantastic.
Have a great week.
xx

Tuesday tutorial with Christin
Christin here and todays topic is how to recover from a scrapblock. The reasons can be multiple, but what matters most is how to recover from it and be happy about the creative process again… This month to be honest, my block has been caused by making this tutorial…… I have procrastinated it to the very last to come up with a great idea to share with you - so much that I haven’t really been able to scrap anything else….
As you see my layout isn’t an exact copy of the inspiration layout, there are lots of ways to be inspired. You can use the colors from the layout, the background, how the papers are layered. You can use the theme of the pictures guide you or the just the design of the page. Scraplifting is also a great way to try a new technique or style. When I made the first layout I went a little out of my usual comfort zone so I am forcing myself to take a little step further. Your final page may not have to remotely resemble the original project, what is important is that you have created something and your scrapbook mojo may be returning. If your layout is a close copy, and you used the layout more as a sketch, I recommend you to write a little phrase in you blog the name of the layout and the name of the scrapbooker and a link to the original layout is also appreciated.
More about the creative process on this layout.
What I picked up on from my original layout was the small squares, so I started cutting out pieces in two sizes.
I didn't want to use all four squares, but only three, and first I wanted them like this. I testlayered them.
Then I decided to change it up a little.
In the original layout I used watercolors as a layer behind the squares, this times I only dropped colors coordinating with the square.
And again the final layout.
And then a few closeups

Don’t be afraid to look for inspiration in other projects than what you are thinking of doing. There are lots of cards or PL pieces that can make you find your inspiration too. Good luck.
In a way I am very lucky, deadlines actually helps my creative process, but I know that isn’t the case for most scrappers. I guess it’s a habit I have developed from a couple of years in the business. Still I have to come up with an idea on what to do, and how to do it..
When I want to be inspired to scrap I usually start with Pinterest and see if I can find a starting point, I look through different facebook groups for inspiration. I can make many backgrounds that can be used later. Magazines are good. The Citrus Twist kits site is actually an excellent starting point. Here you find the Sunday sketches, our 3 to Inspire posts, moodboards and lots of other projects on the blog from the design team. Today I decided to find my inspiration from the gallery ands scraplift. Scraplifting is copying idea or designs from another page to use in your own project.
This time I used one of my own layouts to scraplift, which I rarely do.
Here is my own layout from the gallery with the March main kit.
Here is my new layout with the May main kit and embellishment kit.

Sunday Sketch with Chantal
It's Sunday which means it's already time for another edition of "Sunday Sketch"!
Here's my take using this month's Main Scrapbooking Kit and Sprinkles Add-on;
I decided to add lots of layers and forgo the second photo which I replaced with one of the glassine envelopes included in the kit and layered it with some random bits and pieces. The background was achieved using a watercolour and wax paper technique.
Now it's your time to play!
Make a layout or a project inspired by this week's sketch, upload it to the CTK's Gallery with the sketch date in the title and you could win a $5 GC to spend in the store.
Good luck!
Chantal
