DECEMBER DOCUMENTING with Guest Designer LORILEI MURPHY

Hello Citrus Twist friends! I am so happy to be back again sharing another set of pages using the Sparkle and Joy kit!

Just to recap, I am using a gorgeous red Life Crafted Album to house stories from December 2009 and of course all the goodies from the Sparkle and Joy kit.  This set of pages is about Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

I started these pages with a large photo of our tree.  If you check the tree you will see that I added Sparkle and Joy puffy sticker ornaments to further decorate the tree and two of the card stock stickers!  This photo is the same size as one of the Life Crafted page protectors.

I had to use the gorgeous journal card that was perfect for Christmas Eve along with a photo in one of the 2 - 3x4 inserts.

When you turn the page you arrive at Christmas Day.  I cut one of the 6x8 adorable reindeer papers into a 3x4 card for a lovely pop of red.  I cut a snowflake and a round circle from white card stock and added the puffy “25” and a gold star for a date card.  The card below is is the back of the Christmas Eve card and will hold journaling.  The next side is an interactive page I made for the 25th.  I used a 6x8 Sparkle and Joy paper as the base, and cut two thin strips of red paper to use as ribbon. I topped the “gift” with the red bow die cut and two die cut tags. The gift page is adhered to a base page in the album and opens from left to right.

Love the super cute die cuts!

The gift box opens as a simple flap.

Inside I added gift photos from Christmas morning, embellished with die cuts and stickers! I love how it turned out!

Thank you so much for joining me here today!  Cheers to a happy December and Merry Christmas to you!

Life Crafted with Erica

Hey crafty friends! Today I am sharing a hybrid page in my Life Crafted album using the new Instax page protectors and November's kit and digitals.

This is the first chance I've had to play with the new Instax page protectors and they're so much fun! I absolutely love adding in little pocket spreads to my Life Crafted album so this style is right up my alley.

You can find a template for both styles on the Citrus Twist Kits Fan Page. You can create little faux Instax photos or just use it for the sizing of the pocket.

I had fun filling the pockets with cut down cards from November's kit and plenty of digital ephemera from the Cutapart Elements. I used the Traveler's Notebook stamp and Legendary stamp together around this circle diecut as they both had the same phrase. Perfect for my subject matter!

For my journaling, I altered one of the digital cards in Photoshop to fit the 3-Pocket Instax Protector size.

I created a stacked title using foam alphas (Bubblegum and Turquoise) from the shop and added a couple enamel dots from the kit in the 'o's for a bit of whimsy. The background card is one of the digital Legendary TN papers.

Thanks for joining me on the blog today!

Sparkle &Joy | Advent Calendar pages with Lory

Hello friends!
Today I am super happy to share with you an idea I had for my December Daily: an advent calendar as a starting page, a resume of the December stories as well and as something beautiful to open and close all the times you want. It's something magic to me, to can open a little door for each day and find a little story or a  surprise or just a quote! I'm thinking to so the same thing for my DD2020.

How did I create it? It's so simple and you will have a lot of fun for sure!
First of all cut 24 squares using the 6x8 papers of Sparkle  & Joy kit, size 5x5 cm.  Add the number s from the beautiful CountDown cut files, Then I have cut other rectangles of white papers of 5x7 cm folded at 2 cm.  On the little stripe you have just created folded the rettangole glue the square with the numbers.

I played a lot with the embellishments of the ki, so puffy stickers, clipboard circles, ephemera. I just added also pictures, 7 pictures of 4,5x4,5 cm and some stories written in squares as well of 4,5 x4,5 cm. Just mix everything don't overthink about how to place things just play and have fun!

Here you find how it turns out. I have used three page protectors 2x2. I glue one to another to create something like an accordion using the part of the page protetto where you find the holes.

Here you find a video about the creative process about the advent calendar.

Hope you will be inspired to create yours ad have fun.

Love, Lory

Sunday Sketch with Alena

Hey everyone!  It's Alena with  layout for Sunday Sketch.

Here's a look at the sketch this week:

And here's what I came up with using the beautiful Legendary Add-On Kit and Digitals.

First I layered pieces of patterned paper and some die-cuts.

The main elements on my layout, besides photos, is cut file. I added some purple paint to make the cut file more visible.

Small accents were also added using machine stitching.

Well, then it is time for you be inspired by the sketch to create a page of your own.  Remember to share your creations with us on the Citrus Twist Kits Friends page on Facebook or by using #CTK, @Citrustwistkits on social media.  I cannot wait to see what you create with this sketch.

3-to-inspire with Marivi

Another Saturday with a new 3-to-Inspire challenge, for today this is my challenge:
1.Project life covers
2.Ephemeras
3.Two photos

I haven't used pocket cards for a long time, I have taken advantage of the new size of sleeves, instax, which I really liked, this way I break a bit with the aesthetics of my Life Crafted Album.

On the first page I have placed a photo with a couple of cards that I had to cut out for this measure, and in another pocket a flower and an ephemera phrase. On one of the cards I have used a stamp.

On the other page I have placed the photo in the lower right pocket.
In the other pockets I have also placed ephemera and a card that I made with one of the papers from the kit.

Here you can see in detail the ephemera that I have used and the photo.

As I love them and they cannot be missing in my projects, I have glued some enamel dots.
When I use pocked cards, I always glue the ornaments with volume above the pocket, so that it does not bulge them.

I hope you like this challenge, as always thanks for stopping by.

See you soon!

Life Crafted with Diane

Hi everyone, Diane here with a really quick spread in my Life Crafted album.

This simple spread is 100% inspired by those AMAZING yellow foam alphas that are available in the Citrus Twist shop. They matched my sweatshirt colour perfectly and were the jumping off point for the whole colour scheme of this spread.

I chose that pretty lemon patterned paper from the Life Crafted kit and then built from there, grabbing all the papers and cards that I have left (and it isn't many because I have REALLY gone through my kit this month!) that were either yellow or teal.

Then I grabbed a couple of base pages (I keep a bunch of 5 x 8.25, already punched, white card pages in my album that I can grab and create with when the mood strikes me) and started adding strips of patterned papers. I was trying to find a balance of colours and visual weight across both pages of my spread.

Once I had them in the right order, I added a little adhesive and then stitched around each and every strip with my sewing machine. It took some time but I love the texture it added. Once I trimmed off all the little threads, I re-punched the holes and distressed with edges of the lemon strips to give them a little definition.

I added my photo and ran my journalling card through my typewriter, purposefully leaving off the last words so that I could add it as my title with THOSE alphas! The final step was to add a bunch of puffy hearts and enamel dots, in teal and yellow of course, creating a really strong diagonal line through the spread.

Here's a look at the process this layout took ...

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to share your Life Crafted pages in the Citrus Twist Facebook Fan page! We'd all love to see them!

More December Inspiration with Guest Designer Vania Fonseca

Hello crafty friends!

Vânia here, with a fun idea for a foundation page on your December Documenting album with the Sparkle & Joy kit.

December is just around the corner, but we still have a weekend to prepare our albums.

I used the bell from the Icons cut file to make this page, and cut only the outilne of the shape, leaving a little area attached in some of them in order to make six flaps that i pretend to use to document six of my December favorite things.

I like to have different textures, so on the right side of my page I stamped December 2020 on acetate, using red ink, and the Typewriter month & number stamp set and used the vellum scraps from to back one of the bells.

Also used the Sparkle & Joy stamp set to decorate another bell, again with red ink. And cut one of the ephemera pieces to fill another.

On the left side i cut the twelve from the CountDown cut file in gold cardstock to mark the day.

Used the word Fun, from the puffy stickers on acetate, a mix of stars and some vellum flowers to decorate the other bells

And that's all for today, thank you for passing by!

Happy crafting,

Vânia
