Sunday Sketch with Lory

Hello everyone! How are you? It's a new Sunday sketch day and I am happy to share my latest layout. It's a 9x12 inch page with black and white pictures that I love so much and I didn't use till now.

I couldn't wait to use them and tell this story.
It's about the day of the Baptism of my second child. It was a beautiful day! I love to see them together making cuddles.

Here the sketch.

And here my page

I have used a lot of patterned papers leftovers from the previous Citrus Twist kits, they are perfect to mat photo or make little strips. Then I have played with a lot of ephemera , stamps and chipboard stickers.

I love to add details to my page.

Here some details shots.

The mix of different stamps is super cool! Don't you find?

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Love, Lory

3 To Inspire With Alena

Hey friends!  Alena here today with this week's 3-To-Inspire challenge.

I would like to inspire you with my mini album and three tips for your future projects.

1. Stamped title.

2. Gold (puffy stickers, dots, sequins...)

3. Tickets, labels...

I decided to make a mini album about the last week of December 2020, just before the New Year. I used the gorgeous Merry & Bright Christmas 2021 kit, stamp , digitals and Penelope Stamp sets.  The cover was made of fabric from the packaging of this kit.

The basics of the pages are white cardstock. The size of each page is 4x6.

I love the new set of stamps. I think I could use it on every page.

Remember to share your creations with us on the Citrus Twist Kits Friends page on Facebook or by using #CTK, @Citrustwistkits on social media.

MERRY & BRIGHT with Our Guest Designer LAURA ALBERTS

Hello everyone!

we are so excited to welcome  our next Merry & Bright Guest Designer Laura Alberts to our blog.  You are going to love what she has created!

Hey friends, Laura Alberts here with the stunning Merry & Bright Christmas 2021 kit to document my childhood Christmas stories! My personal favorite parts of the holiday season are spending time with family and enjoying the beautiful lights! Christmas is my favorite holiday and while catching up, I try to get photos of our family and friends in casual conversation rather than posed photos. It’s so easy to get caught up in getting the perfect holiday photos and forget to make the memories!

I’m working in a green Citrus Twist Life Crafted album for this project and loving the flexibility of the rings. For my layout, I’ve focused on a large TN page on the left and a pocket page shaker on the right. On the left side, I’ve used the Crate Paper Busy Sidewalks paper pad for a cheerful red background with branding strip banners down the one side as an anchor for my photo. I fussy cut these gorgeous poinsettia style flowers from the 6x8 paper pad to group on the top left. Then, below the photo I used the small pale blue alphas (that match my dress!) and one of the stamps from the Merry & Bright stamp set for my title.

The tag was fussy cut from the 6x8 paper pad as well and tucks into the side of the photo for hidden journaling. This photo is from when I was around two years old and I don’t remember much from that time, so instead of giving the who, what, when, and where of the photo, I share my love for the Christmas season instead! I decorated the front of this tag with a simple ephemera piece and word phrase sticker to give it a custom look.

The right side of my Life Crafted spread is a really fun shaker pocket style page. This uses the eight-pocket page protector from Citrus Twist and the little packet of sequins included in the Merry & Bright kit. I tipped the sequins into two of the pockets and then filled the rest with a variety of chipboard shapes, ephemera pieces, and puffy stickers for a purely decorative touch. This fun little shaker page really captures the excitement and energy of the photo too!

I can’t wait to see how you use the Merry & Bright Christmas kit in your holiday documenting! I hope you find inspiration in either using hidden journaling or a shaker element on your page too.

Always,

MERRY & BRIGHT with Guest Designer AMANDA BALDWIN

 Hi CTK Friends & Fans!

Amanda here, & I can't begin to tell you how delighted I am to be back on the Citrus Twist Kits blog! I adored my time on the CTK Design Team a few years ago, and am so thrilled to be invited back to share some Merry & Bright Christmas Kit inspiration with you all!

f you're not familiar with my creating, I'd describe it as modern & contemporary with a feminine twist! I love color and repetition in design, and my favorite thing about the Holiday Season is gathering together with family and friends. Nothing is more precious to me than time with the ones I love!

Sharing our December Stories is really important, but the Season of Giving is also the Hustle & Bustle Season! The best way for me to record it all is to complete my foundation and cover pages before December starts.

Here's a sneak peek of what's been on my desk this week...

So.much.gorgeousness! Isn't the Cranberry Life Crafted Album just divine?! Such a beautiful color for a Christmas Album! The Merry & Bright Christmas Kit is just brimming with pretty things to tell your stories and turn some beautiful memories into treasured pages!

Speaking of pages, let's look inside my Life Crafted Album...

How stunning! I wanted a really classical opening to my December Album, so I used white vellum as my base paper & mixed it with pine green, soft gray and gold accent embellishments. The vintage feel of the Merry & Bright Die Cuts combined with the luxury of the Gold Puffy Stickers really enhanced this elegant look! Here's a closer view...

Such a simple cover page, and yet so impressive!

Following on from my opening pages, I have crafted my 2021 title page...

What could be more fun than a Christmas tree crafted from Chipboard Star and Gold Puffy Stickers?!

To keep with the elegant look of the cover pages, I opted for a delicate white and gray pattern paper from the October Flea Market Findings Kit for the background. This softer look ensured that my star tree was the focal point!

For added emphasis, and the notion of opening up something really special, I wrapped the star tree in a candy cane twine bow! Again, really simple and elegant creating for a timeless look!

Speaking of timeless, here's a couple more of my album preparation ideas to save you time in December...

Craft your numeral features & or, book marks in advance!

If you like to document daily from 1-25 then this little tip will save you hours of time! I couldn't resist using the fabulous CTK Stamps to ink up a bunch of my numerals.

For Day #1, I have maximized the awesome Citrus Twist Kits Sophie Alphabet, Luna Nos, and Merry & Bright Christmas 2021 Stamps to make a super cool page marker. Using a similar font, I also fussy cut a larger number 1 from the Crate Paper Busy Sidewalks 6 x 8 Paper Pad and foam mounted it onto this stamped page marker. Love it!

Not a big stamper? Or perhaps you just like to mix things up a bit?

Well, why not try the Citrus Twist Digital products! I edited one of the Journal Cards in a software editing app (PicMonkey) to include the day number and the text, 'today's story'. To add a pop more color and bit of dimension, I embellished with FA LA LA using the CTK Soft Mint Puffy Alphabet Stickers. Between the super awesome stamps, and the very cool digital products, my pages are numbered and ready to go!

Create fun page dividers to organize your album!

My final tip for today is to craft as many page dividers as you can in November so all you need to do in December is add your photos, memorabilia and a quick spot of story telling! I created this fun pocket page to hold those sweet passport photos  you get when you visit Santa. The pocket is another of the CTK Merry & Bright Digital Journal Cards that I printed and machine stitched onto one of the Busy Sidewalks papers. I've stuffed the pocket with a couple tags for journaling, & adding my photos to.

So that's me being all organized and ready for the Season! (Or really, that's one awesome Christmas kit that's inspired me to get my act together!) I hope my post has given you some ideas on preparing your December album, and inspired you! You're going to love documenting December with this beautiful kit!

Thanks so much for visiting,

Happy Arty Days, Amanda xo

Sunday Sketch with Patricia

Hello!  Hope you are ready for the Sunday Sketch inspiration.  My first and favorite size of scrapbooking was 8.5x11.  I've been doing Life Crafted or 6x8 size these past few years, but today, I decided to take this 12x12 Sunday Sketch inspiration and show you how I did it for an 8.5x11 layout using the new Merry & Bright kit.

Focusing on the bottom part of the sketch, I changed the large photo to a digital Merry & Bright digital card for journaling.  I stayed with the two smaller photo inspiration by using the new Chipboard Frames from the Flea Market Findings kit.

With that as my start, I wanted a creative way to add the date.  I stamped with the Luna Nos. onto the pattern paper from the Merry & Bright kit in black in, detail cut out, and adhered around and framing my photos.  To continue the layering look here, I added more pattern paper under, detail cut a flower from the pattern paper to tuck at the bottom, a branch die cut, puffy word sticker, enamel dots, and the number 5 for the day of December using the new Sophia stamp set.

Part of my title I made into banners, but decided to keep and add more texture to this bottom section and used the twine to buck under the photos.  I just used liquid glue in 1-2 spots to hold it.

The top is inspired by the layering, but instead of using pattern paper along the top, I used the Merry & Bright stamp to do repetitive stamping using coordinating ink colors.  Then I added a piece of trimmed pattern paper, a digital label, die cut, and puffy stickers from the kit.  I also extended that creative way of adding my date by adding the Sophia and the Luna Nos. stamp at the top.  I freehand cut banners with the Bailey Alphabet stamp in green and red, then for a large contrast, used the new Penelope for the last part of my title.  Filled in the rest of the title with the puffy alphas from the kit, chipboard and puffy star.

Hope you are inspired by the sketch, by using it on an 8.5x11 layout, and by other documenting ways to use the Merry & Bright kit!

3-to-Inspire with Ingunn

Happy Saturday, fellow Twisties (I'm trying out a new name for us Citrus Twist peeps)! I’m so happy to be back with another 3-to-Inspire for you.

This time, I picked all three of my products from the FleaMarket Findings kit:

  1. Chipboard frame
  2. Die cut
  3. Fussy-cut patterned paper

When I saw those amazing chipboard frames, I immediately knew what I wanted to use them for. A frame would usually be used for a photo, but since I adore giant photos always and forever, I wanted to use it to house my journaling on top of a giant photo! (It would also be really cool to use it to add a smaller photo on top of a large photo.) I just love the depth and texture it adds to an otherwise simple spread.

One of the frames said “all things are possible”, which prompted me to think of the first time the thought that I could actually run an ultramarathon popped into my head. So that’s the story I told, which worked perfectly since I could use my favorite race photo ever (taken by PNW race photographer extraordinaire, Glenn Tachiyama), spread across two pages in my running-specific Life Crafted album.

I wanted to keep this spread super simple since I love the photo so much, so for the rest of the embellishing, I picked a text heart from the ephemera pack (which felt like it mirrored my text box from the opposite side of the spread).

As a finishing touch, and to convey the feeling I had of flying down that coastal trail in Oregon, I fussy-cut some birds from one of the patterned papers, and placed them around the elements I had already attached. I haven’t fussy-cut anything since, like, 2008, so I’m pretty proud of myself! It also turned out to be the perfect activity for when my kids wanted to “scrapbook with me”.

I punched holes into the photo to put it directly into my album, and it was done!

Can’t wait to see how you guys use those frames!

MERRY & BRIGHT with Guest Designer LEILANI GILCREASE

Hi everyone! I’m Leilani, and I am so excited to be sharing a fun and interactive layout with you today, using the beautiful Merry & Bright kit! I love the holidays, and one of my favorite parts of the season
every year are the little traditions my husband and I share. One of those traditions is bundling up and getting our first festive coffee of the season!

I am usually a very “up to date” scrapbooker, and I typically stay on top of my holiday documenting by working on my album throughout the season. When I am unable to take a few minutes to catch up though, I always go ahead and edit and print my photos. I also jot down journaling bits in the notes app on my phone so going back to scrap later is a breeze.

I loved using lots of tiny word stickers and all of the peppermint candy embellishments for this layout!

I tried to stick to mostly reds and greens for this spread. I love how the colors really play off of my photo!

The bold stripe and foiled Christmas tree paper from the Busy Sidewalks paper pad was perfect for the inside of my flip page.

These chipboard hearts were the perfect addition to my journaling.   Love the texture they add!

One of my favorite parts of this spread is using the sequins from the kit to create my own polka dot pattern on the front of my flip page. They are the perfect thing to add a little sparkle and really jazz up
the plain white cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed taking a look at my layout! Stay tuned to see the other fun projects I share!

Thank you!
