Travelers Notebook and Bible Journaling with Patricia

Hello beautiful CTK friends!  I hope you are enjoying or soon will be enjoying your kit(s).  The colors and patterns of the papers in the Life Crafted kit, inspire me like crazy.  They inspire me also to try something I don't normally do, and that is to use a very vibrant and busier pattern paper for a background.

So picking out my background pattern paper, I adhered that into my Traveler's Notebook on the right side.   Before finishing that side, I went to the left side and used another pattern paper, but in a neutral color and less busy pattern.  Then using the Let's Wander stamp set with the color inspiration from the pattern paper on the right, I started stamping.  I did some stamping right on the pattern paper, but did a lot of stamping onto more pattern paper and then detail cut out.  That soft orange really complements the right side.

For my photos, I used the This is Life digital stamps available this month in Photoshop Elements for my photos.  If you don't have software to work with your photos, you could also stamp directly onto your photo, like I did on my pattern papers.  I was able to create a clipping mask, so the photo shows only within the first circle and have a border.  If stamping, it would not have that white circle border.  I filled in with a little bit of embellishments and stamping to finish it, but since it covers most of the page, I turned to the subscriber's Explore Cut Aparts, using one of the labels to type my journaling in Photoshop Elements.

Then back to the right side, I printed a larger photo, layered with the same pattern paper I used for one of the circles on the left, added some die cuts, and the puffy stickers from the kit.

Keeping the details on this side lighter, lets the photo and the paper be balanced.

I love the vintage feel but also modern feel of this spread.  I have another project to share with a video!  Inspired by all of my leftovers, I decided to share a Bible Journaling entry with you today.

I used a combination of the subscriber cut file for this this month called Find Joy Everyday, using just the three hearts from it, die cuts and alpha stickers from the Life Crafted kit, the Crate Paper stickers and die cuts from the Add-On kit, the Let's Wander Stamp, The Travelers Notebook Stamp, and the Typewriter Font Stamp.  With those items picked, I started by stamping "wisdom," adding the hearts cut file, watercolors, journaling and then added in the stickers and die cuts.

I stayed with lots of blues and greens, but I love that tiny bit of the pink from the die cut heart.  To highlight my verses, I used the watercolors.  I was only going to do one side, but since part if it carried over, and I had my supplies out, I kept going!

I used the Floral Circle cut file from this month to start this side, but used the clear gesso that I use to prep my pages as the glue for this larger piece.  I did the same as I did on the left side using the watercolors, and then added the die cuts, stickers and stamps.

If you do any kind of art journaling, Bible Journaling, anything other than documenting, this is a fun way to use your leftovers and try a different creative process.  You can watch my video on my YouTube channel here in HD or below.  Thank you so much for stopping by!!  Happy creating!

Scrapbook Layout with Sept 2019 Add-On Kit

Hello!  Lorilei here today sharing a 9x12 scrapbook layout I made using the gorgeous September 2019 Citrus Twist Add-on Kit!  The kit features some of the lovely Heritage collection by Maggie Holmes and Crate Paper, and that is what I used on my layout!

I started with a white background cut down to 8.5 x 11.5 and placed that on the Keepsake paper.  I chose a 6x4 photo for my layout, even the cows across the lane need to be scrapbooked right?  Before I adhered my photo, I added my title using the Spencer stamp set.  I love the large font in this stamp set, and I am sure I will use it often!

Next up I fussy cut lots of flowers from the Margaret paper.  I decided on a vertical design and added flowers to the top and bottom of the page.  This design is handy as you can use the flowers on the edges of the papers and the straight border helps to line them up!

I added the butterfly from the Heritage Ephemera pack included in the September 2019 Add-on kit and then found a label in my Sept. Life Crated kit for the top of the page.  I couldn't resist stamping "Farm Fresh" on the label using the Sept. 2019 Life-Crafted Travelers Notebook stamp set!

Thank you so much for joining me today!  Be sure to check out the Sept. 2019 Add-0n Scrapbook kit!

Let's Get Digital - See Good Things in Everything

Hi dear ones! Anna here with you today sharing this month's Let's Get Digital inspiration using the September Explore Life Crafted Kit and some of the CTK digitals.

We always have lots and lots of marvelous digitals to play with here on CTK. There's printables as digital papers, PL-cards, digital stamps, cut aparts and plenty of beautiful digital cut files. Each month there comes new gorgeous pieces, I love it!

For my layout of today I've used a digital cut file for my title and some digital papers as well.

I separated the two lines of text to get one part in the wooden patterned paper and one in ordinary black light weight card stock from my own stash. Then I paired then in two layers and I love how i turned out.

Plenty of lovely layers here using a combination of digital papers and physicl ones.

I love all the labels both from the physical kit and the digital pieces.

Here you see my titel again, it's almost floating on my layout.

Hope you like it and that you have got some inspiration here today! Don't forget to share with us on CTK Fan Page and on Instagram. We can't wait to see what beautiful things you create.

Together Layout with Sheree

Hi everyone!

I’m so excited to be here with my first creative team post!  Today I have a layout to share with your featuring this month’s Scrapbooking Add-on Kit.

There were so many beautiful Maggie Homes goodies included in the add-on kit and when I saw the pretty floral paper I knew I had to fussy cut the flowers!  I chose the plain white cardstock for the background then cut a large tag from the woodgrain paper to use behind the photo.  I used my sewing machine to stitch around the tag and a border around the background.

I added some messy stitching to the top right of the photo along with a butterfly die cut and the fussy cut flowers and leaves were tucked in behind the left side.  I used foam dots under the butterfly, flower and the leaves to add dimension.

The yellow pom pom trim included in the kit is super cute and I love the texture it adds to my layout!  I simply adhered a piece to the bottom of the tag with some double sided tape.  The “Together” word from the puffy stickers pack was perfect for the title and I added one of the cute seal stickers to the side of the photo too.

My journaling was typed and cut into strips before being adhered under the tag.  I carried on the stitching element at the ends of each strip.

A puffy banner sticker and a gold heart were added under the journaling along with the date to finish off the page.

You can see my process in the video below…

I love how this layout came together using this kit!  I hope I’ve given you a few ideas to use on your next project!

Thank you for joining me on the blog today!  I look forward to sharing another fun project with you soon.

Sunday Sketch with Laura

Hello there!
It’s Laura here and I’m super happy to be sharing my project for the Sunday Sketch, I hope you play along with me! This time, the sketch looks quite simple but it’s so effective. You’ll have real fun choosing the patterns and all the decorations.

I used the amazing September add-on kit, and this is what my finished project looks like!

I started choosing the papers for the background. I combined some of the most vibrant papers from the kit with some plainer ones. They all combine very well, and I just love the vintage vibes from the collection Heritage by Maggie Holmes. I also used the beautiful puffy stickers and the diecuts to give it a little more interest and they fit perfectly with the items required in the sketch. Some of the exclusive phrase stamps are the best final touch it needed.

The title from this sketch was my favorite part to create. The pink alpha thickers fit perfectly in this space. Then I just added some stickers from the sticker book that look as if it was hand-drawn because they are transparent.

So, that’s all for this time! I hope that you get inspired to create your own layout using this sketch. I’m sure that you will really enjoy it! I’ll be so excited to see what you make! And don’t forget to visit the shop to see all the beautiful kits! See you soon!

3-TO-INSPIRE with Elizabeth

Hello friends.  Happy Saturday.  I'm DELIGHTED to share a 3-to-inspire challenge with you.  This weekly series is designed to help YOU channel your inner MOJO.  To participate, simply include ALL three of the following prompts in ANY project.

The prompts this week include:

1.  WORDS, WORDS, WORDS.
2.  For the LOVE of labels.
3.  Ephemera cluster.

Here's my take on this challenge...

As you can see,  I chose to do a two-page layout in my Life Crafted Album.  The first prompt, WORDS, can take MANY forms.  I ALWAYS try to include words (large OR small) to support my photos.  In this layout, I used patterned paper, journaling, stamps AND ephemera to share my story.

The second prompt, LABELS, can also be used in a VARIETY of ways.  In this layout, I used labels to hold words, add color, bring consistency among pages, and hang the date from a tag.

The final prompt is EPHEMERA.  I try to add bits and pieces in clusters (usually in ODD numbers).  In this layout, I intentionally chose three that were DIFFERENT in color and style.  I also put foam tape behind the "Documented" strip to add a little bit of DIMENSION.

I hope this challenge provides some inspiration.  HAPPY crafting:)

Christmas Stories 2019 and Halloween Sneaks

Hello everyone,

We have our Christmas it 2019 and Halloween kits debuting on September 30, 2019, beginning at 10 p.m. PST. You'll be able to purchase them and have them ship bundled together with your Life Crafted kit subscription at no additional shipping charge.

Here are some sneaks for those of you who just can't wait. Enjoy!

Christmas Stories 2019 Sneak

I had fun putting this page together and sewing down the woodgrain paper on all four edges. Next came my Vicki Boutin Gesso. I playfully splattered globs of the gesso on the woodgrain. (The bow and button are from my stash.)

Here are peeks at 3 of the pages I've made so far: two in my black Life Crafted Album and one 8.5" x 11". This kit is perfect whether you do mini albums, Life Crafted pages, Project Life or scrapbooking.

I pulled out this adorable photo of my big sister and I when we were little. That was the first year I wasn't terrified of Santa and crying. There is loads of 12" x 12" pattern paper in this kit for those of you who love layering or who scrapbook.

Those puffy stickers (sigh). I love both the colorful icon stickers and the metallic gold puffy. They add nice dimension to the page.

Halloween 2019 Mini Kit
And now onto a little Halloween Mini Kit sneak! Of course, my charcoal mist had to come out for this page.

The Teal Life Crafted Album seems to be just perfect for fall!

A little close-up for you:

Be sure to check out our September 30th newsletter so you can see the October kits!

Have a happy week everyone.
