Tuesday Tutorial with Jessy

Hello CTK fans & subscribers! I absolutely adore all the bright & bold products in the May GraceBox. It's so fun to use these products to document my faith in my journaling bible and on my layout too!

Today I would like to share with you simple steps on my layout tutorial using the May GraceBox.

I really love the flower lace stencil + that cute yellow chalk ink in the box this month. I just knew I have to use them on my layout. What I did first was to rub & gently dabbed the yellow ink onto the stencil. Then, I used my gold mist (there are few other mist colours in the CTK shop) to spritz onto the stencil. I really love the gold shimmery effect.

Once the mist is dried, I begin to play with the composition of the photo & with the die-cuts as well. I will usually arrange everything before sticking them down. That way, I can rearrange if I find the composition is not suitable to my style. By looking at different eye-view will also help with your arrangement. You can also try photographing the layout with your phone/camera, so you can take a better look if there's anything that you need to move things around.

Here's my completed layout. A layout that is dear to me because it speaks about the miracle in my life. We had difficult moment to conceive my daughter that is after 7 years of marriage. Because of God's grace & blessing, He finally answered our prayers! And now, I'm pregnant with my second child. Truly a blessing from above!

I really love how bright is the journal card (by moi), IF die-cuts & the CTK exclusive stickers along with the photo of my daughter. The doilies sure added textures to the white background as well.

Here are some close-up shots:
The butterfly stamp that is part of the "Assuredly Yours" stamp is one that I use very often!

Hope you have sign up for the June GraceBox, it's gonna be another amazing one!
Thank you so much for coming by!

Xoxo Jessy

Bonita Rose - May Grace Box | Inside My Journal

Hello there CTK fans and subscribers!
It's Bonita Rose here!
Happy Memorial Day Monday!

Today I wanted to share with you
a page inside one of my journals!

I'm using this smaller leather bound journal
(found at my local Barnes & Noble)
as an Art Journal/Faith Journal of sorts --
so I had to use! some of the stamps included
in the May Grace Box for this page!

Creating with your monthly stamps doesn't have to be hard!

For this page, I swooshed on some paint, let dry,
stamped my text.
Next I added some journaling lines, I wrote what was
on my heart, added some puffy hearts, some washi, and a flower!

What I wrote here is something
I never want to forget.

Choose Hope

My journaling reads:

When life changes, and there are times when I am struggling,
Lord, help me to trust in You.
Strengthen my HOPE.

During the hard times,
help me to turn my eyes to You.
Only YOU.

Supplies used:
- stamp set, May Grace Box
- puffy hearts, May Grace Box
- washi tape, Illustrated Faith
- Flower and leaf, Prima Marketing
- date stamp

Sunday Sketch with Wendy

Hello Citrus Twist Kits lovelies and Happy (long) Holiday Weekend (American peeps)!

Wendy here to share up with you today the Sunday Sketch.  I love long weekends and you can take this sketch to work up some creative flow after you eat some BBQ and enjoy some down time to kick start summer!

As my usual layout style and size, I adapted the sketch to a 9x12 layout format.

Here's my take on the Sunday Sketch this week...

I was inspired not only by the sketch but from the paper by Kaisercraft (Sea Breeze Collection) in the May 2016 "Sparkle" Add-On.  The random circles in the paper really put the thoughts of the sea and ocean into mind.  So, I rolled with this idea in creating my project.  My husband LOVES fishing, we both love relaxing at the beach and even better as we live on the beautiful Gulf coast, home of the best world class fishing and white sandy beaches.

So, I snapped this pic with his gear full force in his element that so perfectly sang to the theme to give a "high five" to "enjoy life", so "need I say more?" (from the stamp set in May 2016 "Beach Glass" Pocket Life).

I love the floral accents in the sketch but didn't want a feminine flair to my layout, so I found some florals in my stash in more of neutral tones to blend well with the masculinity of the picture and aqua colors. The beautiful paper with the swans is in the May 2016 "Sparkle" Add-On (the image of the paper on the Citrus Twist Kits website you see the pink side of the paper but the swans are on the reverse side).

Now it's your turn. If you want to play along with this week's Sunday Sketch and be eligible to win a $5 gift certificate, create a project based off of the sketch and upload it to CTK Gallery by next Saturday. Please make sure to include "Sketch 5/29" to the title line of your project.

I hope I inspired you and you enjoyed my take on this week's Sunday Sketch!  We can't wait to see what you create with this sketch!

3 to Inspire with Aimee.

Yay! Welcome to Saturday's 3 to Inspire. I love, Love, LOVE IT when I score a 3 to Inspire post because no only is it a challenge for you but it's a really great way for me to break out of my usual supplies and way of doing things. So without further ado, shall we get started?

1. Choose 3 colours from your photo to use as your design palette.
2. Add some paint.
3. Use an acetate embellishments.

When creating this layout I was trying to incorporate a fun and whimsical theme. I took the grey from the headboard of our bed, the blue from Eva's eyes and the orange from her PJs. I painted a watercolour background for the photos and added a few black paint splashes to the side for contrast. Finally I embellished with some of Paige's amazing fancy free die cuts and ephemera.

Now it's your turn! Use the three prompts to create your own projects and share them with us here in the gallery and/or our Facebook Forum. You can also upload to Instagram, but remember to tag us @citrustwistkits. Looking forward to seeing what you can do!

PL Sketch Friday with Marie

Hi Everyone!  Marie here today to share new pocket pages with you.  When making a two page spread, I love using one large main photo and combining it with smaller photos to tell a story.  This is how I put that idea to work on my latest pages.

I used a 6x8 album and started by choosing my favorite photo of the day and enlarging it the full width of the right hand page.  I added a title with alphabet stickers from the May PL kit straight on top of my photo and typed out some journaling underneath.  Finally I added a border across the bottom using some feather embellishments from the kit which match my outdoor theme.

Here's a look at what the right side looks like as a sketch:

On the left side I wanted to add extra detail shots as well as more journaling.  In order to fit everything in I used a 2x2 divider page which gave me 12 pockets to fill.
I used number stickers from the May PL kit to add a list of some of my favorite parts of vintage campers.  In alternating pockets I added in detail shots from our outing.  Here's a look at what the left side looks like as a sketch:

The combination of large and small pictures is a great way to include multiple photos in your layout, and tell a story on your pages.
Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you are inspired to use these sketches and share your creations. I would love to see them!

Beach Glass + Sprinkles

Hi everyone, Gina here to share my May projects, created with the 'Beach Glass' main kit.  For the first few pages I've used the cute Sprinkles kit as well.

I've used mixed media techniques here, starting with some white gesso behind the photo and extending the lime green frame with watercolours and distress stain.

I've also added graphite and stamping and embellished from both kits, just love how well they coordinate! The pleated ribbon, adds a nice texture to the design

Simple water colouring provided the backdrop for this page, and I've once again used a mixture of embellishments from both kits

..adding in some little hand stitched crosses

Continuing with these white frames on kraft card stock, I've used a simple hand-cut triangle frame and infilled with some deli paper, on which I've handwritten script with a white sharpie pen

Finally, this page is created with the main kit only and I've started with another mixed media base, adding in one of the cardboard frames behind the photo

I hope you're also enjoying creating with your May kits too!..don't forget to share with us on the CTK Facebook fan page and gallery

Mini Album tutorial with Mira

Hello Everyone!
I hope You're all having a really nice day so far and that You are ready for a mini album inspiration today! Please, sit down comfortably because I have a ton of pictures presenting step by step on how I created my very simple mini album using really colorful May PL "Beach Glass" Kit together with Embellishment one. I hope You will enjoy this tutorial!

First - we need to create pages for the album. I used white cardstock and trimmed the paper into eight 6x4 cards.

Then I gathered them all together on my desk and added a bit of color using Heidi Swapp color shine and splashing it all around.

Then I picked the most colorful papers from "Beach Glass" PL Kit and started playing with them.

I decided to follow the pattern-idea from those papers inside my album, so the pages of my album were totally inspired by these.

First - rectangles:

Next, these awesome colorful stripes:

Then, the circles:

I used scissors and a small circle puncher to provide various sizes of the circles:

Confetti is such a delightful idea, that I decided to cover the whole page with this paper!

Same here - with the flower pattern:

For the rest of my pages I used the scraps of paper that were left. I simply mixed them together or matched with the neighboring page:

For the cover I've chosen these lovely flowers:

I punched the holes through all the pages and bound them together with a single ring:

Then I created and printed a photo collage - all pictures in the same size:

I trimmed them and adhered a few layers of white paper underneath:

Then - attached to the pages:

This way I was ready for embellishing!

I wanted the cover to stay very simple, so I attached this lovely Becky Higgins Project Life button and the label. Simple indeed:

Here are the pages of my album in details:

I also used a few bits from previous - April Kits (transparent words again are my favorite!):

And finally second cover to finish my mini well:

Thank You Guys, for stopping by! I really hope that You enjoyed this photo tutorial and thank's for a chance to inspire You today. I hope You are ready to play with Your May kits right away! I am pretty sure that this colorful collection of goodies will make You OPTIMISTIC!
Have a great time!
