JUNE 2020 KIT LOVE

Hello everyone!
June is here, and after a few months enjoying the comfort of our homes, the world is slowly opening back.   This month's Life Crafted kit: CRAVINGS is the perfect mix of color, design and sentiment to help you document all those meals, sentiments and things we yearned for while in isolation.

The  colors of the palette this month are ideal to document all sorts of memories and feels.  Our friend Tina Stepanova always helps us with fun unboxing videos, so sit back and enjoy our new Life Crafted kit:

We know many of you enjoy creating memories in  a larger format, so we have carefully curated a Scrapbook Add-On kit that will help you stretch your Life Crafted kit, or simply work on its own.

So much goodness in this kit and a few more goodies arriving at the shop!  Join Nathalie as she shares a detailed unboxing of this month's add-on kit:

How beautiful are both kits!  We cannot wait to see what you will create with them, and how you will document your memories.

But a new month also means lots of new, fun and citrusy things arriving at our shop just in time... We have added a new collection of Life Crafted Albums that are the perfect bright rainbow for your memories and shelves.

Do the words: Calyso, Turquoise, Clementine, Flamingo, Candy Apple and Peony just make you think of warmer vibes?  Stop by our shop to check the new albums as well as a restock of our most popular ones: black, Charcoal and Goldenrod and all the insert configurations.

As it is customary, this month we are also releasing two new add-on stamp sets that combine perfectly with the Cravings kits:  our June 2020 Traveler's  Notebook Stamp set and the This is Life: Wild at Heart stamp set ( digital format also available)

This month, we also want to introduce 4 new sets of stamps that will help you document your days in a beautiful way:

First of is the ALL THE FEELS  stamps set  which was designed to help you add sentiments to all your memories ( during and after isolation).  The new IT'S WEATHERING stamp set is so fun, and it is all about weather and seasons.  The design will easily combine with the popular This is Life: LET'S WANDER stamp set to give you an infinite number of possibilities!  Finally this month we are releasing 2 new Alphabet stamp sets that are a must for all your documenting.

I think now it is time to welcome you all to the shop.  Remember that subscribers receive free digital files as part of their monthly perks, and also can take advantage of bundle shipping.

We are so excited to see your CTK projects, and have a CT ready to share inspiration with you all

Happy June everyone!

Sunday Sketch with Sheree

Hi everyone!

It's Sheree here to share today's Sunday Sketch with you all!  This sketch is an 8.5 x 11 inch sketch but it could easily be adapted to 12 x 12 inches if you prefer that size.  Let's take a look...

Here's what I came up...

I used papers and embellishments from the May 2020 Scrapbooking Add-on Kit along with the digital version of one of the TN papers from the May 2020 Journeys Kit.  I started with a white cardstock background, then added a floral strip across the bottom of the page and a strip of the labels paper across the top before adding some stitching.

I used a punch to add a notebook paper look to the edge of the digital TN paper then layered it with two other patterned papers underneath the photo.

At the bottom of the photo I used one of the acrylic speech bubbles as the title, then added the phrase and ladybird stickers.  I also used my sewing machine to stitch a little trail behind the ladybird.

To the left of the photo I added a label from the labels paper which I stamped with the date, then added the journaling strips underneath.  Stitching was added across the page above the photo and along each of the journaling strips too.  I finished off by adding another ladybird sticker and some messy thread to the left of the date label.

Sketches really do make it so quick and easy to pull a layout together!

You can see my process in the video below...

I hope you'll give this sketch a try too!  Thanks for joining me on the blog today...enjoy the rests of your weekend!

3-to-Inspire with Veronica

Hello Crafty Friends!
It's so nice to see some changes around here. Our area has allowed small groups of 10 to gather. This allowed us to enjoy some much needed pool time with cousins. The hot sun, an ice cold pool and of course BBQ was just what we needed.
With all that said, I'm here to share 3 amazing products from the May Life Crafted kit!
My 3-to-inspire are:

1. Use a 3x4" card without journaling.
2. Stitch on your project somewhere.
3.Make a cluster with stamps.

Here is what I did on this layout:
I started off with a 3X4" card and stitched a tag on the side "Sun + FUN" banner. I left it as is, no journaling required.
I added a quick photo at the bottom of the left side. Sidenote: I use the PicMonkey app to add font titles on my photos.
On the right side I cut a white cardstock to 4x8" size and stitched bits of cardstock and printable labels on top and bottom to match the colors to the left so it would all tie together. I then added a cluster of stamp phrases in gray with bits of label stickers. I used 2 small photos on the right side. One is 2x2" and the other is 1.5 x 2.5". I also used some chipboard and labels to give this side some extra color.
To highlight the square photo, I layered vellum over the pic and punched a 1.25" circle above the kids splashing in the pool, then I stitched the top to bind them together:

Hope I inspired you to use up some of this gorgeous kit and document those beautiful poolside/staycation memories! We don't need a vacation to use up this amazing kit!

Life Crafted Inspiration with Shannon

Hello, crafty friends! Shannon here with some Life Crafted inspiration for you. I just love these albums. I mostly use them for spreads about me but I recently started one for family stories as well. My ideas for this album is that it'll be filled with stories that deserve more of a spotlight than I give on my pocket pages. This just happens to be the first story! It was our first family "outing" during the quarantine and it just so happened to mesh perfectly with the May 2020 Journeys Life Crafted kit.

I had a lot of photos from this outing so I opted for a 2x2 square grid pocket page. This is such a great option for lots of photos! I chose my favorites and alternated them down the page. Then I cut up some patterned papers and journaling cards from the Life Crafted kit. [note: the May 2020 Life Crafted kit and many of the components are sold out. I will link to the digital product where I can.] This was a great way to get break up the photos on the page.

I used two tags from the May 2020 Cut Apart Elements to add to my drone photos. Those sayings were meant for these pictures! I also used the Journeys 3x4 Kit Stamp to add sentiments to my patterned paper. Since my journaling cards had such large phrases (and one was pretty colorful), I opted to keep the embellishing to a minimum so I didn't overwhelm the page. A label, a stamp, and a geotag on the bottom square of patterned paper was all that was necessary to complete this side of the spread.

Since the left page was packed with color, I wanted to keep the right side fairly clean and neutral. I used the Journeys Traveler's Notebook Basics Digital Papers as my base for the right side. I simply opened the file in Photoshop to add the date, weather, and my journaling. This could also easily be done by hand as well!

I chose a photo with a lot of "white space" (the sky) to add to the lighter feel to this side of the spread. It's important to have balance in your pages! I mentioned that I didn't want a lot of color on this side, so it must have been meant to be that there was a chipboard embellishment in the same color as the compass - and it fit perfectly into the open spot!

The May 2020 Journeys Life Crafted Kit ephemera pack came with some fantastic die cut words. They're delicate and modern at the same time. They definitely make a big impact! That's exactly what I was looking for at the bottom of this page. My journaling didn't quite fill up the whole spot but this die cut "travel" filled in the blank space perfectly. I added one last touch - a Tiny Word Sticker - over a swatch of pink that was already at the bottom of the page. I did this to pull in the colors from the other side of the spread in a little way. You'll notice that I also made sure to have a little bit of peach on my left side to connect the two pages and add a cohesive look to the overall spread.

I hope I've inspired you to try a Life Crafted album or break out that May 2020 Journeys Life Crafted Kit to document your travels - even if they're just local travels around town. I can't wait to see what you create!

Open Post with Angela

Hello everyone!

It's Angela here on the blog with a new spread of my Life Crafted album featuring the May 2020 Journeys Life Crafted kit

For my layout, I went for a page of embellishments and stamped phrases on a white strip of cardstock. The strip measures 4,25 x 8,25 inches and I adhered it on a beautiful green paper and white flowers from the kit. The base green paper is slightly wider than the white one, it's about 5,25 inches so it peeks from the sides.

I arranged stamps and embellishments in line, starting from the mint leather puffy sticker. Then, I started stamping a mix of words in different colors, to create the phrase Vacation Seeking, Relax Needing. The words Vacation, Relax and the little scalloped line are from May 2020 Traveler's Nootebook, while I made the Seeking and Needing using 4" x 6" Solid $ Outline Alphabet & Number stamp set.

After what I can call the title of my pages, the second part of the page is more a line of embellishments. I placed a sticker, a chipboard and a die-cut piece.

I stamped in color, following the color scheme of this little piece shown in the picture below. It is a journaling card from the kit I cut in a square of 2x2 inches. The phrase is slightly cut out but still readable.

The second page is a  2x2 pocket page, you can find this page protector here on the CTK shop, with a sequence of pictures. The funny faces are of my hubby who, I admit, isn't so happy to be published ;P

That's all for today, friends. I hope you liked the spread and feel inspired to create with the amazing Citrus Twist Kits kits. Happy crafting!

Hello Citrus Twist Kits Friends,

Nikki here with a new inspiration for your Life Crafted Album using the May Life Crafted Kit "Journeys". So let´s get started.

I recorded my love for daisies on this double page. Even if we cannot go on vacation at the moment, we can treat ourselves to a vacation within our own four walls. Our grandmother's garden is a great help. There I can relax, watch the bumblebees and admire my beloved daisies. It was exactly this relaxed atmosphere that I really wanted to capture in our Life Crafted album. The current "Journeys" kit is perfect for this.

You can simply reinterpret the decolements. For example, the garden is always a beautiful sight for me and I always discover so much new. The flowers and trees grow. Depending on the season, there are different animals to watch. I can capture all of this with the decoration elements of the kit. What about you? What adventures do you discover in your own four walls?

I hope you enjoyed the little inspiration for your Life Crafted Album and motivated you to get creative yourself. I am glad that you stopped by and we will see us again soon.

Pocket Page Challenge with Erica

Hey guys, it's Erica here with a Pocket Page Challenge. One of my favourite ways to document a trip is to create a few spreads as an overview in my Project Life album. It gives you a glimpse into the trip without having to pull out a whole other album, and gives you a chance to highlight some of your favourite photos. Last year I traveled to the Pacific Northwest to attend the Citrus Twist Creative Retreat and built a road trip around it.

This page highlights some of the awesome things we saw and did on that trip. My challenge for you is to document an overview of something- whether it be a trip that you're intimidated to get started on, or one that you've already finished- jumble up all your favourites and create something new!

For this layout I wanted a good balance of photos between people and scenery (and don't forget
wildlife!). A lot of my photos came straight from my Instagram Stories, so they already had a little bit of journaling on them. I simply added a sticker or diecut on top to create a cluster. The embellishments this month were perfect for showcasing all types of travel, especially road trips.

I've used a mixture of the physical journal cards and the digital ones. When I have a lot say in small area I use the digital cards to put my journaling on in Photoshop. That way I can play with the placement and size to get it to fit just right.

And let's not forget about the beautiful travel stamps this month. Adding a bit of stamping to your photos is always a great touch. Pair it with a diecut and you're good to go!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today. I hope you're inspired to try out this challenge and break out the travel photos!
