April Kit Love

I am so happy to be here today to share this month's edition of "Kit Love".

Although it's nice to have that Main Scrapbook kit to play around with, the add-ons most often feature a handful of THE best goodies currently out there. My absolute favourite is this month's "A gift for You" add-on and I'll share why a little latter on.

This month's add-on has such a great selection of papers. The great Aztec type printed pink pattern and the black and white dotted ones were the first to be put aside and used for my layouts. The "coffee" cup one is great for some decoupage and to document your latest beverage addiction. The possibilities are endless.

The Confetti ephemera by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper is by far my favourite item from this month's add-on. The colours are perfect and I can't get enough of those flowers. I've already ordered of few more packs of these…just cause.

Pink Paislee has some pretty amazing alphas and these are no exception! Wonderful, versatile and so much fun to play with.

I have always been envious of other people's pretty and perfect handwriting and these Heidi Swapp wood veneers are wonderful. They are especially great for layout titles, cards and Project Life spreads. I still have two of these left and tons of ideas floating around in my head.

Trina definitely spoiled us this month and I hope you all fell in love with those goodies as much as I did!

Tuesday Tutorial With Karen

Hello, Karen here with a tutorial for you on how to incorporate some stitching in your pocket life pages. I use stitching on almost every layout I do, it could be machine stitching or hand stitching, it just depends on my mood & what the paper is 'telling' me to do. Sounds hilarious even typing that, but that's how it works around here.

Firstly, I start with a piece of scrapbooking paper, like this one above,  this is from the Amy Tangerine 'Rise & Shine' line that was included in my 'April PL Kit' from Citrus Twist Kits, a needle & thread, whatever you have, I had this gorgeous gold thread in my studio, and the Amy Tangerine Mat & piercing pin.

Start punching holes where you want to place the stitching, I decided to go along the lines of the arrows. Here's a tip, less is more, I chose not to do every arrow, spread the love.

Next, thread that needle & start stitching. It's that easy. Trust me you can do it. Give it a go.

I used a gold heart that was roughly the same size as an arrow head & placed it in the bottom corner on an arrow, you can do whatever you like here, in the middle, to the left or even use something else other than a heart, maybe a wood veneer arrow could work too.

And just like that, you've finished your pocket life card with stitching.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, don't forget to share what you do with your stitching.

You are awesome by Amelie

Hi there! Here is Amelie and today I am going to show you my new layout with April PL kits. I would, for this layout, a very simple design to highlight my 3 pictures, I really want to focus on them.I choose a black and white combo as my pictures and added some touch of color with the embellishments.
The flair button comes from a previous kit and the black bow from my stash.

I hope you enjoy this layout. Can't wait to come back mid April to show you my album with PL Kits!
See you soon,
Amelie

Sunday Sketch with Nathalie

Happy Sunday CTK fans and Happy Easter if you celebrate it! I am here today to offer you a new sketch challenge and to share my interpretation created with the brand new April Main and Embellishment kits.
Here is Kasia's fabulous sketch for this week:

My first thought was: square photos = perfect for IG/phone photos. Also, I loved the large circle right away, which then became the placement for my title:

KITS USED: April 2015 "Flight of Whimsy" main kit, "Adorable" embellishment kit
NON-KIT ITEMS: date stamp, yellow enamel dots, ink

The Pink Fresh puffy stickers were my favorite item in the embellishment kit! They are modern and  add just the right amount of color and texture.

Are you inspired by this sketch? We love to see what you do with our kits and sketches, so please make sure to upload your projects to the Citrus Twist Gallery. And remember, if you upload your take to our Gallery by April 11th, you will be entered to win a $5 coupon to use on anything in the CTK store! Make sure to add "Sketch 4/5" to the title line when you upload. Have fun!

3 to Inspire with Janine

Hi everyone! Janine here to share a new edition of the "3 to Inspire" series. We offer this challenge every Saturday for those who need a little extra push to get scrapbooking, to keep scrapbooking, or those of you just looking for a challenge!

Your take on this challenge can be in the form of a layout or a PL spread and you'll want to include all 3 elements on your project.

This week, your inspiration should include the following:
  1. Use patterned paper as your background.
  2. Use at least 3 circles as central element.
  3. Use one big letter as a title.
And here's my take on it with a 8.5x11 layout:

It is a layout about our dog Roque, this time without journaling and just because I love the photo!

I cut the circles with various dies and my Big Shot and stitched some of them down. The big 'R' I used for my title is cut with my Silhouette of white cardstock and vellum which I layered on top of each other to give it a bit more dimension and interest.

If you take on this challenge, post your layout or PL spread in the Citrus Twist Gallery or on the Facebook Citrus Twist Fan Page.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Easter weekend! :)

Pocket Life with April

Hi everyone! Happy Friday!  This is a bittersweet day for me.  This is the last Pocket Life post that I'll be sharing with you all because the month of April is my last month on the CTK Design Team.  (Don't worry - I'll be back next week to share one other project though, so you aren't totally rid of me yet! :P)

Anyway, I'm saving my goodbyes for next week's post.  For now, here's my PL 2015 week 7!  I used the April Pocket Life and Sprinkles kits plus some alphas from my stash.  Keep in mind that the PL designers played with the Amy Tangerine Rise n Shine papers in it's 12x12 size, but the actual kits going out to subscribers will include the 6x6 paper pad (so the sizing of the patterned paper will be different).

My week 7 turned out to be a 3 page spread since I included some photos of Valentine's day.  Here's the first page.  I'm usually not a big fan of selfies, but I find myself taking them a lot more nowadays, so that I can ensure that I have some photos with my little man.  Unfortunately, my husband very rarely takes any photos much less of me (unless I tell him to), so this is the only way I can ensure that I am included in our PL album.

Here are the 2nd and 3rd pages:

Here's a close-up on page 2.  I wrote out "Weird Habit" with alphas from my stash (so they are not included in April's kit).  I just thought they matched the papers well.

PS. Don't you HATE getting a bad hair cut/color? :(

And here's page 3.  The hubs always gets some really great pictures with the little mans because I'm always taking them!  Now if he would only do that for me... lol.

Alright, and here are your sketches:

Thank you all so much for coming by today and checking out my spread.  Like I said earlier, I'll be back to share one more project next week, so I'll see you all then!

Have a great weekend!

Hello, I'm Fearless (Sandra Przybylska) , I'm 24 years old passionate scrapbooker, a mother to one and a soul mate to another, I live in United Kingdom and I'm so thrilled to be a guest designer here! I didn't expect it so I really hope to inspire you thought the month, my journey with crafting is just surprising even me, I'm feeling truly blessed, I love to use paints, mists, stamps, plenty of papers and whatever is bright and shiny has to be used!
you can find me here:

Guest Design Q&A
1.   How long have you been scrapbooking and why did you start?
Well, my passion has started in July 2013, and I must say I'm thankful to the person that has tough me.
2.   How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
Hmm, I would say, messy but visible ha!? :D
3.   What scrapbookers have influenced you most?
I must say I'm truly inspired by Umichka, Anna Komenda, JaMajka and Tusia Lech.
4.  What is your favorite thing about kit clubs?
The favourite thing? hmm, definitely that it's a mixture of most common brands, that they don't just stick to one collection but mix it all nice and perfect for any kind of projects, if I only like for example jst stickers from brand A and dots from brand B I can always find them in a kit instead of buying full collection .
5.  What are your 5 favorite scrapbooking items?
Stamps
Paints
Dots
Paper, all sorts
Die cuts
6.  How would you describe the Citrus Twist April kit and what do you enjoy most about it?
Well, here we go! I LOVE IT! as usual, my journey with citrus has began not so long time ago, and I must say I never have any better kit or customer support and ladies in group are just SMASHING! <3 the kit is full of colors that I like , there isn't such a thing that i enjoyed most because I enjoyed it all :)

My craft room:

In May 2014 we have moved houses, and I finally had a spare room to create my craft world, after a while I was adding stuff to it, mostly from IKEA (yeah, most of you know right?) and I have painted the walls white, well, they are a bit messy now (paints lol) but it still brings so much more light.

Here's my right side, the place that I create.

And a closer look at my desk, sorry for the mess, looks like I was creating my project life using stunning March Project Life kit ;)

and the side that I use to edit my photos, to play, to chat on facebook and have coffee, loads of coffee ;]
love
xoxo
