Sunday Sketch + Guessing Game #2

Happy Sunday, everyone! Melissa here with this week's Sunday Sketch and layout to share, along with a peek at the contents of the upcoming March kits.

Let's start off with Kasia's sketch...

...and my layout based on it.

I made just a few modifications to make the sketch work with my subject, including leaving out the smaller photograph and using mist and glitter splatters in place of the pencil scribbles.

I loved the strips across the tops and bottom of the page (and often use these in my regular layouts, too!), and added some small embellishment clusters to them to complete the diagonal line across the page started by the mist + glitter.

  1. What a GORGEOUS sketch & I loooove your whimsical take on it...I don't even know what I should be guessing at - but there's DEFFO butterflies in there, & I'm hoping those little brads...are they?? Like little wooden mushroomy thingos!!!! They look amazing:):)

    1. Michelle- I used stamp ink! The color is an older one that is no longer produced- Weather Vane by Jenni Bowlin for Ranger. I've found that just about any dye-based ink works really well for these, though!

    2. Thanks so much for responding Melissa! I just bought my first batch of dye-based ink, so this will be the perfect time to try them out.

  5. I think the butterfly is from Studio Calico's LemonLush line. I LOVE that whole line. The wood dots are pretty cool too!
