October GraceBox Kit with Jessy

CTK-Oct_Grace_4.jpg

Hello again! I'm so glad to be back here to share with you 3 bible pages that I've created with the October GraceBox kit. This month's theme is all about gratitude. Perfect to give thanks as we are nearing to Thanksgiving! I really love all the mixture of patterns and elements + all the fun and bright colours that come in this month's kit. It sure sped up my creative process with all these amazing products packed into a kit! And this month, I had the opportunity to create the stamp design too, it was fun!

Having time alone with God is always refreshing :)
So here are the 3 bible pages that I created with the kit:

I really loved the puffy alpha stickers! They are not only the perfect size but they are flat, so that's really a plus point.

The journaling cards in the kit are always what I look for. I love that the back of the cards, they have prompts that always get me started with my pages!

I knew I had to create a page all about give thanks! I've been blessed with many great things and showing my gratitude in my journaling bible is something I enjoyed doing.

Thank you so much for coming by! Hope you are inspired to pull your GraceBox and create.

Xoxo Jessy

Sunday Sketch with Nathalie and Mary

Hello there!

It is time for a new sketch and challenge for this week.    And since we love sketches, Mary and I have teamed up to bring you different takes on this week's super fun sketch!!

We hope that you are also inspired by the sketch and join us in the challenge.  All you have to do is create a project based on the sketch, and post it on the CTK gallery and/or Facebook CTK Fans page with today's date in the title.  We would love to see how  this sketch inspires you!!

First,  my take on the sketch...  I was drawn to the all the negative space, and large title in the sketch, but since my preference is 12x12  pages, I found a creative way to convert this sketch to  fit my pages.

My option was to use a large picture (8.5x11in) instead of the large piece of paper in the sketch, and add  a 12 in white cardstock as background.   The rest of the layout  was built following the sketch.

To create the cluster around the picture, I layered all the Turn the Page ephemera frames.  I used Photoshop to print the pictures, so that I could crop the image and get a second picture of just my teens.  Then just glued it in between the layers on top of the large picture.

Here are just a few more close ups of the page:

All the stars and layers come from the embellishments included in the October Main Kit.   The title was formed using the washi tape from the Embellishment kit, and the main kit stamp.

The same cluster was repeated at the top left corner of the page.   The cluster features embellishments from the October Main Kit

I hope this gives you a chance to see the versatility of the sketch!  I look forward to see your take on the sketch.

XO

Nathalie

And now to be inspired by Mary:

Hi friends!  First off...I'm totally #fangirling over the fact that I get to work with Nathalie this week!  Eeek!

This sketch was a super fun sketch to play with.  I was really inspired to keep the sketch white on white but to add some texture in:

I played off the scattered embellishments by adding some mixed media with pearlescent water colors I had picked up at an art store in Portland this summer while we were on vacation.  I'm ashamed to admit that this was my first time using them.  I'm pretty sure their feelings were hurt.  We're good now though.

I was really inspired by the Crate Paper/Maggie Holmes "Carousel" hearts stars stickers which came in the main kit.  I chose to group the hearts together in the coordinating sections of color and stitch through them picking up on more of the texture feeling I was initially going for.

Next I dove into the Pink Paislee/Paige Evans "Turn the Page" ephemera pack which was also included in the main kit and pulled some coordinating bits to scatter through the diagonal embellishment trail.  I especially loved this coppery toned butterfly.

I made sure to keep the embellishments the same color as the area they were being placed on.  For my title I remembered there was a strip of washi tape from the Pink Paislee Washi Book that was included in the Embellishment ad-on.  Instead of keeping the word as is, I realized there were enough extra letters to spell out "Full of Wonder" which was perfect as this layout was about me wondering over the future.

I'm excited to watch my daughter grow up and I know I'm raising a really good future friend.  While I am still her mom, we will definitely be friends forever.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today to see Nathalie and my projects!

You can watch my entire process here

Mary

Here are your prompts!

1. use a stamp for part of your title
2. incorporate 3 love hearts

Here is my take on the prompts

I created this page with the October main kit and loved the pretty mix of bright patterns, florals, stickers and those tickets! They are so great to layer and make a perfect border for your design

my mixed title was created with the main kit word stamp, which I stamped onto a cut out journal tab, adding a heart sticker and finishing with these bright alpha stickers

I hope you will also play along with this one, I can't wait to see what you create!
Don't forget to upload your entry to the CTK gallery and/or Facebook Fan Page by Saturday November 4th for your chance to win.

Pet Love Challenge with Essie and Diane

Hi lovelies! It's Essie and Diane here today to challenge you to use your supplies to create something dedicated to your furry family members!

I (Diane) created a whole TN insert in one sitting, entirely about my lovely little Lily! (No great shock there I suppose, she is the topic of many of my pages!)

I grabbed a bunch of photos I loved, and after I created the base for my insert (you can see how I do that here and here), I used the October Pocket Life and Sprinkles kits to batch-create five different spreads.

Working on all the spreads at once meant the whole insert is completely pretty and co-ordinated and the whole thing only took me about 2 hours.

And here is the process video of how this whole insert came together...
-----
Like the crafty twins we are, Dee and I (Essie) made projects that are pretty similar, but each have their own spin. While Dee’s album is about one scruffy wee dog, mine is about three crazy cats.

I decided to make a 3x4 sized mini album, partly so I could use some journal cards in it, and partly because I’d used so much of my kit that I only had little offcuts left of some of the papers.

I always want to get as much use as possible from my kit supplies, so having a small-scale project to use those little bits in made me really happy.

Like Dee, I used some embellishments from the Sprinkles Kit too – particularly those sparkly enamel shapes – and they added some lovely detail to my pages.

We hope you can spend a little time giving some love to your smaller family members, we'd love to see what you make so don't forget to upload your creations to the Fan FB page and the CTK gallery so we can see!

And I've the pleasure to welcome Mira to participe to this challenge too !

Hi it's Mira Jurecka here as a guest in Celina's post and I LOVE todays inspiration. Here are the pages that I created based on Celina's idea:

I focused on one card from October PL Kit which I especially love - the one with fall leaves - I wanted to use the both sides of it, so the strategy proposed by Celina worked perfectly for this purpose!

I am so glad Celina came up with this idea - so now I have two pages and the two sides of my absolutely favorite PL card ever! are used.

Love the Mira's pages !!

And to finish, some pictures to this Octobre beautiful PL Kit !

And the October 2017 Sprinkles Kit :

Can't wait to see your pages !!

Project Life with Adele

Hi scrappy peeps!

Hope you're having a lovely week. Here in Aus, we've got beautiful warm weather - perfect to try and get my scrappy mojo back. We recently moved house a few weeks ago and I haven't had a chance to scrap for the last month and I'm BURSTING to rip into my November PL kit which just landed on my doorstep. This has given me a big kick of motivation to get my new craft room unpacked!

Today I am using the October Pocket Life Kit to create a sweet 9x12 layout.

I am crushing on the way I used the "documented" stamp in the title card - definitely a technique I want to try again. I'm slightly addicted to "ghosting" my stamps lately by double stamping them on a project.

I also printed out and added a new recipe we tried this week, an easy reference to look back to if I want to try it again and forget the process!

Tune into my process video to see the full creation of the layout!
Have a lovely crafty week peeps!

Adele :)
