This just so happened to be the first year we got the kids fireworks. So I dressed them up in some red, white and blue and got some really cute shots of them playing with and watching fireworks. I decided to pick a few favorites and go from there. Shannon (another member of our fabulous creative team) shared a layout last month where she printed a photo to span the entire width of her life crafted album and when I saw it, I knew I needed to try it in my album. I chose a photo of my kids standing together watching the fireworks and my oldest was so excited he threw his arms into the air. I printed it at 8.25" tall by 8.5" wide and then cut it down the middle so that each half would fit in the page protectors.
I purposely cropped my photo so that half of the photo would feature my children and the other half would be "white space". This made it easy to add a title to the empty left half. I fussy cut the "4" from a patterned paper in the add on kit and added the "th" using the thickers (also from the kit). I wanted something that looked like fireworks on my page, so I found a cut file that looked like a fun explosion, placed them above the 4 and stitched around them in blue thread. I used one of the new alphas to create the "July" part of my title. I stamped on white cardstock, laid it on top of the photo and used my piercing tool to trace around the letters, then I stitched in red thread.
To add my additional photos, I trimmed one of the papers down to 3x4 twice and adhered the photos to each card. I embellished them with die cuts and puffy stickers from the kit.
I typed up my journaling on my computer and printed it out on 3x4 white cardstock cards. I added a puffy sticker above one of the cards for a pop of color.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday!!
Kira
