3 To Inspire with Jennie

 

Hi Friends! This is Jennie with a 3 to Inspire Post! 

I love journaling cards! Having a digital option that I can print over and over is a dream. But sometimes, I get too excited while printing and I end up having a lot of cards! Once in a while you can grab them and mix them all up! The Life Crafted Kits all have a distinctive look that makes the kits match. 

Your first prompt it to mix up the journaling cards or papers! 

Speaking of loving things a little bit too much, I also love photos! I bet you are not surprised. When I have a group of photos that look very similar I like to create photo collages. 

Your second prompt is photo collages. From 2 to 20 photos, these are super fun to add!  

Special occasions are fun to document, but I really enjoy the mundane every day moments and pieces like this coffee photo which is a part of my daily routine documented in a different way than a mug photo. 

The card on the left is from the Spring Dreams Digital Journaling Cards. The title card is from the Cherish Digital Journaling Cards. I also used Orange Sherbet Puffy Alphabet, Cherish Heart Stickers, and the label is from the Jingle All The Way Digital Elements. That's 3 collections in one little card! 

If I close my eyes for a second, I can see my grandma's handwriting and it gives me a feeling that typed words can't. I want my kids to have that experience, and also your loved ones.

The third prompt is to use your handwriting.

Even when I use collages, I pick a few of my favorite photos to print in regular size.

SUNDAY SKETCH with Patricia

 

Hello and welcome to another Sunday sketch.   I usually take inspiration and make it my own, but for this project, I was inspired to recreate the sketch.

The description of the sketch, says to use the Heart Background from Winter Magic December Digital  paper, and that is exactly what I did.  I did the majority of the work on the computer in Photoshop. 

I inserted my photos, altered some of the hearts to add the journaling, and the gingerbread cut file.  The cut files come in PNG files, so I was able to change the color and add color behind it to add to an altered heart square.  Once everything was finished I printed this on matte photo paper.

All that was left to do was add the physical product.  I used a combination of the new Winter Magic die cuts, enamels from Parasol kit (they are sold separately here), and a sticker from the Jingle All the Way kit (sold separately as well here).  The photo frae is from the Gather die cut ephemera pack.

Because of the sketch, the grid of the paper, this came together quickly.  If you don't have Photoshop to layer photos and PNG images on top, you could always print the digital paper, then measure and cut the pieces you need to go on top.  

Either way, this is a great start to put together a quick and easy layout!  

3-To-Inspire With Aimee

 

Hi there CTK friends! It's Aimee here with you today bringing you this week's 3-to-inspire challenge. Here's this week's prompts: 

1. Use 2x2 pocket page protectors. 

2. Leave some of your 2x2's clear and instead of pictures fill them with die cuts, puffy stickers, ephemera or even sequins (get creative with this)!

3. Carve out some space for a long story or journaling that takes up a whole page.

Let's take a look at my project and I'll walk you through what I did: 

I used my Life Crafted album in turquoise to tell a story of home and showcase a couple details from the weekend.  Now, I did not have enough photos to fill up all 8 pockets so I decided to have a ton of fun embellishing the remaining pockets. I used the new Feels Like Home die cut pack and the Happy Heart puffy stickers for this— and can I just say how perfectly they help tell my story! 

Some of these pieces I actually adhered to the outside of the page protectors instead of putting them inside— like the puffy house and the, "home" die cut for example and I love the tactile experience this provides. I layered up phrases with the beautiful acorn florals and added machine stitching and nests of thread for plenty of texture. 

I just adore the subtle Fall mood the new CTK September Exclusives bring without being overdone. Next, I wanted to focus on my story. I used the 6x8 Coming Home Digital ledger paper to give me just the space I needed to write up my journaling. I resized and printed the pink lined ledger paper in the set to be 4.25 X 8.25 inches— just the perfect size to fit into the full pocket page protector. I typed out my story on my typewriter and adorned the top with a fun title and some jewel toned enamel dots. 

My journaling was quite heart-felt and I had a lot to say and in the end the busyness of the accompanying pockets next door lead to a well balanced page. 

The possibilities are endless with 2x2 pockets. They're so much fun to decorate and can really create a unique look when paired alongside a page full of words! I hope you enjoyed this week's prompts and I hope inspired you to create something beautiful!

Hello CTK Friends!  I am loving the new goodies each month, as always, but I do love going through some older favorites to use both new and old together!  It is really my favorite way to scrapbook.  Which leads me to the 3-to-Inspire for today:

1 - Use an older stamp, alphas, die cuts, papers, etc.

2 - Use the inspiration from others into your project.

3 - Use the new Picture Story Cut File.

For my older products, I pulled the Good Life and the Retro Hip Co & CT Collab stamp sets and a CTK kit pattern paper from my stash.  I love to organize those papers by color, so I can grab exactly what I need.  I find I use them more that way too!  For the inspiration from others...I have loved all the fold outs I'm seeing from the team.  I have done it before, BUT did you catch Nathalie's recent post here.  She used the digital TN Basics and duplicated that pattern to create the longer sheet she needed to then fold and punch!  I had to try it and now I am hooked!  I created my longer piece using the January Traveler's Notebook Basics on the left side, then used the stamps, and a combination of January digitals, die cuts, and the new February puffy hearts to finish with a photo.  

The trickier part for me was I wanted the cut file to be on the larger side once you open that top flap, which means that the cut file has to fold with it.  I went for it and got it to work.  I had to use clips from my stash to keep it closed, but it works and exactly the look I wanted.  I combined a January die cut with it to add more color, and then created a grid with two more photos on this inside flap.  

And again, used older pattern papers, one from the Sparkle and Shine.  Having my colors organized, I just grabbed what I needed and it all worked well together!  I wanted that gorgeous flower to have the pop of color with dark and light in that swirl.

My confidence was up having gotten that awesome trick from Nathalie to duplicate the TN Basics digital paper.  I needed this spread to continue with the same colors and patterns to balance, plus I knew I wanted all photos to fill the Instax pockets.  The vellum with the same printed TN Basics worked for me here.  It gave me the subtle texture repeating it from the left, and the vellum gave me a little bit of a break plus a place to journal so that I could have my beautiful colorful cut file on the left, and all four of the Instax pockets filled with photos and stamping.

Another thing I love about this spread is I got the entire week documented within these pages.  Give these ideas a try in your next project and be sure to share with us in the Facebook group!

3-to-1 Inspire with Sabrina

Hi everyone this is Sabrina and I’m excited to share a 3-to-1 Inspire project. I used many of the October digitals to bring these Life Crafted pages together.

Here are my 3-to-1-Inspire:

- use the digitals

- stamp some phrases

- use a floating element in your project

I wanted to document my daughter and her love of these 2 skeleton creatures- a bird and a cat. She has always loved all things Halloween since she was a toddler. I knew the October digitals paired perfectly with the photos I took of her holding our 2 new decor pieces.

I used several of the TN digital papers and even recolored the letters “spooky” on one of the Flourish travelers notebook papers. I also printed out all the Halloween tags and ephemera from the Flourish Printable Tags. There are so many fun pieces in the October digitals to document all the spooky moments!

I then added in some enamel dots, stamp sets ( Flourish Life Crafted Kit Stamp and the October 2020 Life Crafted Traveler's Notebook) and 2 papers from the Flourish kit- woodgrain and gray- to add to my project. My next step was to start building my Life Crafted spread. I started by matting both photos on the wood grain paper and tearing the edges. I used the gray paper to cover up the “magic hour” at the bottom since I had a journal card and didn’t need a second journaling spot.

For my 3x4 insert I had a journaling card “here for this” that I recolored to match the orange color from the pumpkin in the “spooky” TN paper. I also decided to have the digital tag and circle element as floating pieces in the bottom 3x4 pocket. I love how the floating cluster turned out and I hope you give it a try in your project. I then put on the finishing touches with the stamp phrases and enamel dots. A festive Life Crafted spread to document this story of my daughter's new spooky creatures.

3-to-inspire with Laura

Hello cuties! It's Laura here with a new project for the 3-to-inpired challenge with the amazing October Life Crafted "At my table" kit and the beautiful This is Life "Food stories" Stamp. They are so perfect and versatile, I love them!

 

 So your three prompts for this week's challenge are:

1. Use geometric shapes.
2. Stamp in your background
3. Combine more than 3 colors.

You can use the Life Crafted album as I did in this project or you can adapt it to any kind of format you wish: pocket pages, traditional layout... The possibilities are endless, all you need to do is to have fun!

In these pages, you can see that I used part of one of the October cut files and cut it twice, so that it looks more balanced. This goes for the prompt of using geometric shapes but you can also cut your shapes with your scissors, diecutting machine or punch. It would look amazing to create a background with circles or squares as well!

For the background I used the 6x8' papers from the Life Crafted kit and the colors are just so beautiful! You can see that I filled some of the empty hexagons with many diffrent patterns and colors, they all match really well! Just enjoy playing with all the colors!

Finally, my favourite part of this project was to embellish it! First of all, I used the This is Life "Food stories" Stamp to add a little more interest on the background, I absolutely adore all the tiny food drawings, perfect to document any food adventures! I also used the Gold Metallic Puffy stickers to create the title and a few more elements from the October Life Crafted kit to finish my page!

The Peony - A Spread for my Life Crafted Album by Anna

Hi dear ones! Anna here today bringing you another happy creation using the fantastic July Life Crafted Kit, Best Of This Life. This time I opted for a spread for my awesome Life Crafted Album, I'm in love. These albums are just in the perfect size since I really like the Travelers Notebook format. The only issue is that I want them in all five colors, lol!

Now over to my pages.

The beautiful intricate cut file is a subscriber exclusive one which all CTK subscribers have access to. Our own super talented Nathalie is the designer of almost all of our die cuts. They are all so very beautiful.

 As I've said many times before I'm a succer for labels and you always find plenty of them in every CTK Life Crafted kit, with or without text. I find them very useable on almost every project I create.

The pink alphas are picked from the CTK June Add On kit. Perfect match for these pages about one of my favourite flowers in my garden, the Peony!
