3 To Inspire with Jennie Garcia

Hey Citrus Twist Friends! This is Jennie with the 3 to Inspire challenge for this week!

The first prompt is to use a simple stamp to create a cool background. I used gold ink and the Mischief & Mayhem Stamp Set to stamp stars on the photo. It's better to use this method when the background is only one color. If the background is busy, the details will be lost and overshadowed by the elements on the photo.

The second prompt is to document current trends of the moment or a specific age. I remember my niece and my oldest kid reading a lot of Dork Diaries books at this age and now that my little one is 10 she is reading the same books! I also added a postcard from a subscription box from a movie that recently came out. You can also add these trends with screenshots from online shops or photos of store aisles.

Your third prompt is to embrace randomness. Throw cohesiveness and the cookie cutter aesthetic out of the window. Life is random, and this spread will reflect that! I have so many colors and stories in these pages! I wouldn't have it any other way.
The journaling cards are from the Change Is Beautiful
To recap, here are the three prompts:
1) Use a simple stamp to create a cool background.
2) Document current trends.
3) Embrace randomness.

We would love to see what you make! Share it in the Citrus Twist Kits Fan Facebook Group!

3 To Inspire with Jennie

Hey Everyone! This is Jennie with today's inspiration!

Your first prompt is to include a photo of something you made! In this case, I added a photo of a drawing my little one made. This photo allows me to include it in a 3x4 pocket instead of having a lot of papers. My daughter draws a lot! If I kept everything she made I would need an extra house to store all her drawings. Other things that you can photograph are letters and grocery shopping lists. Think about having a tangible memory of  someone's handwriting or how different your grandma's grocery looked from yours!

The second prompt is to mix it up! Colors, embellishments, and elements! In my title card, I mixed 2 different kinds of alpha stickers. I used the Sadie Coral Alphabet Puffy Stickers and the Periwinkle Alphabet Puffy Stickers. I also mixed the colors blue and light pink!

The third prompt is to be a little playful with your photos! Cut your photos into shape! You can use metal dies or punches. I framed the circle with the All About Me Ephemera.
To recap, the three prompts are:
1. Include a photo of something you made.
2. Mix up your elements.
3. Cut your photos into a shape.

Don't forget to come back every Saturday to get your 3 to Inspire prompts!

3 to Inspire with Jennie Garcia

Hi Friends! This is Jennie with today's 3 to inspire prompts!
The first prompt is to use packaging, tags or cards included in products or online orders. Some subscription boxes and Etsy shops add a postcard or business card that can be easily saved. The ones I added this week fit perfectly in a 6x4 pocket.

I used a paper from the Life in Motion Digital Papers for the title card. I love the pattern so I kept the card really simple. This square from the Life In Motion Digital Elements is perfect for journaling or as a label for dates. I am in love with the Foam Alphabet Stickers in every color, but here I used Sun Yellow.
The second prompt is to add numbers to your photos to document your life with lists!
I added a number to some of the photos to pair it with the journaling card with the information about each photo. It's an easy method for those, like me, who have a hard time journaling.
I love to make little clusters with washi tape, digital elements, and shaped puffy stickers like these Sunshine Puffy Heart Stickers
The third prompt is to use a neglected product from your stash. I used a brad. I have a LOT of them in my embellishments drawers. Instead of gluing down this tag (check out the first prompt), I chose to use a brad so I can see the back of the tag in the future.
To recap. the prompts are:

1. Save the packaging of a product, or a business card or postcard.
2. Use a list to document your life.
3. Use a neglected product from your stash.

I hope you find these prompts inspiring!
Take care!

3 To Inspire with Jennie

Hi Friends! This is Jennie with a 3 to Inspire Post!

I love journaling cards! Having a digital option that I can print over and over is a dream. But sometimes, I get too excited while printing and I end up having a lot of cards! Once in a while you can grab them and mix them all up! The Life Crafted Kits all have a distinctive look that makes the kits match.

Your first prompt it to mix up the journaling cards or papers!

Speaking of loving things a little bit too much, I also love photos! I bet you are not surprised. When I have a group of photos that look very similar I like to create photo collages.

Your second prompt is photo collages. From 2 to 20 photos, these are super fun to add!
Special occasions are fun to document, but I really enjoy the mundane every day moments and pieces like this coffee photo which is a part of my daily routine documented in a different way than a mug photo.

The card on the left is from the Spring Dreams Digital Journaling Cards. The title card is from the Cherish Digital Journaling Cards. I also used Orange Sherbet Puffy Alphabet, Cherish Heart Stickers, and the label is from the Jingle All The Way Digital Elements. That's 3 collections in one little card!

If I close my eyes for a second, I can see my grandma's handwriting and it gives me a feeling that typed words can't. I want my kids to have that experience, and also your loved ones.

The third prompt is to use your handwriting.
Even when I use collages, I pick a few of my favorite photos to print in regular size.
Hopefully you have many good days so you can use this card from the Spring Dreams Digital Journaling Cards.
To recap the prompts are:

  1. Mix your papers and journaling cards.
  2. Add lots of photos using photo collages.
  3. Use your handwriting.
I hope you can use these prompts! Take care!

3-To-Inspire with Jennie

Hi Everyone! This is Jennie with your 3 To Inspire Challenge.

These are your three prompts for this week:

1. Play with the sizes of the digital journaling cards and travelers notebook papers.

2. Layered stamping with different shades or colors.

3. Create interactive elements.

I mixed elements from Cherish and Slow Down. I was working on my book journal which is 4x6 so I changed the sizes from one journaling card and one travelers notebook page to fit the book. Changing sizes and even colors is one of my favorite things to do with digital elements. You don't have to be tech savvy. You can even do it with Microsoft Word.

Use light ink colors while stamping to create a subtle background. To make an element pop use a darker color. Even though the phrase "Book Lover" is in black, it has a nice balance with the pink because the font is smaller and thinner than the Ginger Alpha Stamp

I used the books from the Life Crafted Slow Days Traveler's Notebook Digital Paper to cut out these books. I left extra space on the left, next to the spine, so I could fold a tab and glue it to the paper. That way I could "open" my book and add my little review inside.
I love how the right page looks like a bunch of books resting on a tablecloth.
You can make these mini books, cards or little albums.
Share your inspired projects with us on the Citrus Twist Kits Fan Page.
Take Care!

MERRY & BRIGHT with our Guest Designer - JENNIE GARCIA

Hi Friends! This is Jennie with more holiday pages! Last year and even this year, crafters we a bit worried their albums would be boring or that they wouldn’t have many stories. One thing you can look for are online games, websites, and memes. I took screen shots from the Naughty and Nice List. I added a puffy gold star sticker next to my daughters’ names. It’s also a story that you can use any day.

I used the Luna Stamp Set for the number. I stamped it with red and left a white border to create contrast with the green background.

I love having different page sizes. This page protector is 4x6, perfect to squeeze a few extra pages. I used the Merry & Bright Stamp on cork to create this embellishment. The punch I used is 1.5 inches.

One combo that I use all the time was washi tape and little word sticker. I almost used the entire sheet of word stickers and the gold puffy phrases and icon stickers.

This day was a busy one with lots of photos, so I cut the top 4 inches of a 12x12 page protector and folded it in half. Use a bone folder to make sure it stays folded. To add my journaling, I used a card from the Sparkle & Joy Digital Journal Cards.

I used the Busy Sidewalks paper pad to make this card. This circle die framed the photo perfectly! This was my favorite card in the whole spread.

I hope you enjoyed these pages! Take care!

MERRY & BRIGHT With Our Guest Designer Jennie Garcia

Hi friends! I’m Jennie and this month I’ll be sharing with you my December 2020 Memories album! My favorite part of the holidays are the “small silly traditions”. I love “Cookiethon” which is a day where I make a lot of cookies and making ornaments. But one of my favorite stories must be the Christmas tree, specially when we have a new theme! My elf Charlotte appears often in my album. I’m not a fan of her shenanigans, but my girls love her! If Santa hasn’t sent  a helper to your house, do NOT request one!

In the past few years I haven’t been able to finish the album close to December. In 2019 I had a full house and in 2020 I was packing to move to a new home. But things that help me stay on top of my documenting are printing photos constantly and putting them in the page protectors. It’s my least favorite part of the process. I also have an album on my phone for the photos I have to print.

I love the black journaling card because I can use it with a title, a photo or for journaling. I love digital cards because I get to print my favorites many times!

The gold embellishments from the Merry & Bright Kit is perfect for this photo!

I already had a few golden touches that I added with the A Design Kit App. I was trying to be a little more creative with photo editing.

This pale mustard card is from the Flea Market Findings Kit. It has a double meaning, a small snowball, and my little girl.

I had a lot of photos for this day! I couldn’t choose less photos so I made a collage with the PicStitch App. I love the Citrus Twist Life Crafted Adhesive Page Strips. It makes my life super easy because I don’t need to Fuse my page protectors to make a new size and I don’t ruin my photos punching holes.

Can you spot the Printable Cut Apart Elements in my organizer?

This cute snowy digital paper was perfect for my photos! The Gold Puffy Alphabet Stickers are exclusive from Citrus Twist Kits of the Merry & Bright Kit. I love round alphabets!

I went a little crazy with the Gold Puffy Phrase and Icon Stickers. I also love the hearts and stars I can use like sprinkles around the page!

Did I mentioned I had a LOT of photos? I had to cut a page protector down to 12x8 and fold it in half to add even more photos! The enamel dots from the kit are also great sprinkles.

Dies are expensive items so make sure you use them often! I like to use circle dies to cut photos.

Let me know which part of this layout (with many parts) is your favorite! Stay tuned to see what else I’m making with this kit! Take care!

Pocket Life with Jennie Garcia

Happy Coffee! I mean Monday! This is Jennie with today's pocket pages using the June Pocket Life Kit. In this spread, I mixed it up by adding the June Embellishment Kit

Since on this side I have 3x3 pockets I had to trim down a few of the cards and use the papers from the June Pocket Life Kit

These weeks were a little slow so I only use one page for each week. I'm not too hard with my PL process so I allow myself to do this often. It's good to have guidelines, but when rules are too strict it can stifle your creative process.

The tags that I used for the title are from the Pinkfresh Studio Sticker Sheet from the Embellishment Kit. On the right, I used a die cut from the Pocket Life Kit and the heart is also from  Embellishment Kit.

Those Case of the Blahs Stickers are perfect for situations like these. I cut the original photo in a circle and used a paper for the background. It somehow turned it into a happy photo.

In this card, I wanted to sticker sneeze all my "Z"s. I have so many! I still have mixed feelings about it. I love it but at the same time is incredibly quirky!

I can't believe I managed to keep this card so simple! The tag is from the die cuts pack and the label from the Pnkfresh Studio Stickers. The alphas are from an old Citrus Twist Kit. I wanted to keep everything at the center so I stamped on the sides.

This is one of my "simple' layouts. Ignoring the fact that I stuck more than 20 alpha stickers in a card.
I hope you enjoyed these pages! I am loving this kit! Take Care!
