Mixed Media with the Perfectly Posh Kits!

Hey Friends!

Amanda here, sharing some mixed media fun with our gorgeous Perfectly Posh Kits!

I know, these kits are too pretty to get messy with, right?

Well, when teamed up with the Pinkfresh Studio Liquid Watercolors you just can't go wrong! 

Today I am sharing a really delicate, purposeful and soft approach to mixed media!

Here's what I'm talking 'bout......

"Some Kind Of Wonderful"

Isn't this lovely?!! 

So super pretty & that Butterfly Ring cut file (created by our awesome Nathalie DeSousa) is just divine!!! I've combined a few of our pretty kits for this layout; Perfectly Posh PL & Scrapbook Kits & the Embellishment Kit. I was especially inspired by the butterflies in the cut file & those Crate Paper Willow Lane embellishments, as well as the pastel pretty colors in the exclusive PL Kit ephemera. Loving this soft & feminine color scheme!

It's no secret that I LOVE Pinkfresh Studio, & their Liquid Watercolors are all kinds of magic! 

I've used Lavender, Bubblegum Pink, Aquamarine & Sapphire, with lots of splatters,  as well as the wet-on-wet technique to create that pretty base. I've also softened the color intensity with lots of water, and by soaking up the excess color with paper towel. You can shop ALL the colors in the Citrus Twist Kits store here.

Gosh! It really is dreamy and divine! From that pretty ephemera, to that cutesy lil blue bird,this layout is beautifully adorned! And I am totally loving those glossy enamel dots from Pinkfresh Studio!

Documenting - Travelers Notebook Style!

Hello, there!  Let's discuss one of my favorite projects - travelers notebooks!  I use them in a variety of ways but the most common are to document my memories [like a mini album], to actually plan in them or a combination of both.  I mean, why not combine function and inspiration, am I right?

This month, I used the Citrus Twist Kits to document memories and I am blown away by the amount of fun I had!

What's more fun that using a Scrapbook Kit in a travelers notebook?  Not much!  I loved being able to add beautiful bits and lots of dimension on this page.  And that patterned paper from the kit was perfect for a page all about travel!

Now, I thought it would be SO fun to keep it simple! I really wanted to focus on just this one stamp from the August 2018 Travelers Notebook stamp set.  It was so beautiful and I knew it was a perfect match for this photo of my beloved family dog.  Keeping the layout simple and repeating the same stamp really had a big impact!

I, of course, couldn't stop there!  It's just too much fun using these inserts to document.

I was so fortunate to go to Chile this summer and teach some planner classes. It was, for sure, a life changing experience.  I had to start my memory keeping of this trip somewhere!  So, I combined both the August 2018 Perfectly Posh Scrapbook Kit with the Perfectly Posh Pocket Life kit! They were positively perfect together, and I loved using the stamp from the scrapbook kit on here, as well!  [It was made for this layout!]

Are you documenting in travelers notebook inserts?  I love mixing them in my functional travelers notebooks to give me something inspiring to look at while I take care of the day to day!  It also gives me a fun keepsake to hold onto.  What a great way to preserve all of the memories!

Layout inspiration with Perfectly Posh!

Hi there! Anna here with you to share some layout inspiration made with the CTK August Perfectly Posh kits. I've also used a pair of the gorgeous cut files by August. They are both designed by our own and very talented Nathalie, YAY!

Ok, here we go with my first page, it's a 8.5x11 size page made with the Add On kit, the Pocket Life kit, the Embellishment kit , the Outdoor Adventures stamp and one of the cool  August cut files.

As you can see I've yrt again used the negative part of the cut file. I love when nothing is wasted.

And here's my page no2 made with the Main Scrapbook kit, the Pattern Paper Play kit, the Add On kit, the Pocket Life kit, the Embellishment kit and again one of the lovely cut files by August.

And don't you just love the gorgeous pink pom-pom trim, I'm totally in love!

To getsome dimension and texture I mounted one of my paper strips with some 3d tape. Even the pom-pom trim and the stitches enhance the feeling of dimension. I like it!

You are magic!

Hello crafty friends,  Melanie back here with a layout about my bestie. She's not in the picture though, but you can see this cute foldable superhero bag I always carry around in my handbag she had sewn for me last year.
This month's kits are once again so lovingly put together, everything matches perfectly and I love all the small bits and pieces that come in the kits. For this layout I wanted to use one of the frames from the Embellishment Kit, the pompom trim from the Pocket Life Kit and the tassels from the Scrapbook Kit.

I went for a clean and light layout and started by adding a frame to my picture. The black makes a nice contrast to the white background and it has the perfect size.

The 'MAGIC' matches the colors of my picture so well and so I decided to make the title 'you are magic', because she is, and went for a horizontal design. I added the journaling on a label from the cutaparts and placed one of the gorgeous golden hearts from the foam stickers underneath my picture to fill up the space. 

But before I started glueing things down, I added some black splatters using the black Pinkfresh Studio watercolor from the shop and Kira's awesome technique. She puts the color on a stamping block, adds water and sprinkles it over the page by using a brush (thanks Kira for this great trick).

To balance it all, I cut the striped paper from the Pattern Paper Play apart and put the stripes on the left-hand side of my page, added some washi and the pompom trim and went over it with my sewing machine to add a little more interest.

I also placed the adorable embroidery embellishment on the bottom left using foam adhesive for more dimension. But before I glued it down I added one of the tassels just for a little something. I attached the other two to the frame using some white thread.

To bring in more of the gold, I added some stars to my cluster and finished off the layout by doing some stamping, I used the stamps that come in the Scrapbook Kit.

Sunday Sketch with Nathalie

Hello everyone!
Nathalie with you today bringing you this week's Sunday Sketch.    It is a fun and simple sketch, so i decide to work the beautiful "Perfectly Posh" kits  into a few projects using the  sketch as inspiration.  But  first let me show you the sketch:

For my first project, I stayed true to the sketch, and decided to combine the "Perfectly Posh" Scrapbook kit, "Living the Life" add-on kit and the "So Very You" Traveler's Notebook Stamp set to create a 12x12 layout about my babies.

My choice was to limit the color palette for this page, and then used papers from the "Perfectly Posh" kit that contain teal/mint to create the background and layers behind the picture.

I added a bit of teal art crayon ( Vicki Boutin) just to make sure the picture pops from the page.  Then used pieces from the Living the Life add-on kit and the Perfectly Posh Scrapbook kit to embellish the clusters around the layout.

The idea for the color of the page came from the ribbon that is included in the "Perfectly Posh" scrapbook kit, so I used some machine stitching to create a ruffle look to it on the page.

To finish the page, I brought in the Maggie Holmes Chipboard sticker included in the "Living the Life" Add-on kit to create the title, and combine a stamped sentiment from the Traveler's Notebook "So Very  You" stamp set.  Love how this turned out, and how easy it came together by following the sketch .   However with so much goodies in my box, i decided to use the sketch one  more time to create a TN page:

For this layout, I chose to flip the sketch 90 degrees, and pulled all the color from the "Living the Life" Add on kit, to create a TN layout about my stalking baby.

Once again, I stayed true to the sketch, and added a few layers of papers from the "Living The Life" Add on kit behind the picture.  To embellish the picture, i used some of the elements from the cut-apart sheet, and die cuts included in the add-on kit.

To create the title of this page, I used the Traveler's Notebook Stamp, "So Very You" to mix the sentences together, and create  a large title.   To finish, I pulled some of the enamel dots from the "Perfectly Posh" Scrapbook kit to bring a bit of color to the page.  Love how fun this turned out.

Tuesday Tutorial with Kira

Hello again, Citrus Twist fans!  It's Kira and I am back for Tuesday Tutorial.  Do any of you have pen pals?  I have a few crafty friends who I write to regularly and send crafty gifts to, but lately, I have been slacking a little.  So I thought I could use my Citrus Twist kits to create a sweet little gift for one of my friends!

I was inspired by the Mixed Media kit this month.  I am in love with this cute Fruitastic stamp set from Pinkfresh Studio.  And thought it would be fun to make my own berry basket.

I used a berry basket cut file from Cricut Design Space and cut it out of the "Sprinkled" paper.  I filled it with the crinkle paper that is included in my kits every month (I save it every month so I never run out!).  Then I added my strawberries!

Supplies you will need for your strawberries:
-paper
-glue
-strawberry cut file
-leaf cut file
-candy

I made the strawberries by first creating a cut file.  (You can download it here, to either cut on your die cut machine, or cut by hand).  I used the Maggie Holmes "Sweet One" paper, which was perfect for my strawberries.  Once you have your strawberries cut out, you will fold along the score lines and glue the sides together.  This should create a little "cup" that you can fill with candy!  I used M&Ms, but how cute would some gummy strawberry candies look in these?!

Next you'll glue together the top of the strawberry, layering each "tab" on top of the last with a dot of glue.  Another option for closing the strawberries would be to punch a hole in each tab and then closing it up with some string.

To finish off the strawberries, I attached a leaf die cut.  I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe, but any leaf cut file would work fine, or even hand cut leaves would look cute!  I used one of the 6x8 papers included in the Pocket Life kit, for a light pink and mint color scheme.

The mint ribbon from the main kit was perfect to finish off my basket.  I just tied it around the top of the basket rim for an extra sweet touch!

Back to the stamp set that inspired my entire project:  I decided to make a card to attach to my berry basket.  I stamped in similar pink and mint colors for my strawberries on some white cardstock.  Then I stamped the sentiment "I picked the best friend" in black directly on top of the strawberry pattern.  I backed the white cardstock with a pink paper from the 6x8 paper pad.  I adhered the card to the basket with a mini clothespin from my stash.

And there it is!  The sweetest little gift!  I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and thank you so much for stopping by!
