Sunday Sketch with Shu-Wen

Hi everyone!

It's Shu-Wen here, sharing a spread in my 6x8 "Me, Myself and I" Life Crafted Album that I made using today's sketch, documenting my go-to hair style. Here's the sketch that I used for my layout:

I followed this sketch pretty closely for my layout, as the proportions are sized perfectly for a 6x8 page! For the layers of patterned paper, I used pieces from the new Flea Market Findings 2 Life-Crafted Kit; I especially love how the bottom collage patterned paper I used as my base has references to hair styles, making it the perfect background for my layout! To make the individual pieces of patterned paper stand out a bit more from one another, I used my Paper Distresser to rough up the edges a bit. I also added some staples with my Tiny Attacher to add a bit of interest and texture to my page. For my photo, I took a picture of my hair from behind, carefully trimmed the photo to get rid of the background in my photo, then mounted it onto another piece of patterned paper from the Flea Market Findings kit.

To embellish my page, I added a floral die-cut ephemera piece from the Flea Market Findings kit, a few of the puffy stickers from the kit (including one that I stapled to the page for added texture), and scattered a few pink enamel dots to bring out the pinks in my embellishments. For my journaling, I cut one of the 3x4 journaling cards from the kit in half and added my typed journaling using some clear sticker paper. I distressed the edges of this journaling card as well to match the rest of the layered papers on my layout.

For the top of my layout, I used the Bright Pink Puffy Alphabet Stickers in my favorite sticker font to spell out my title "My Go-To Hair" in a curve above the circle patterned paper that I cut out using my electronic cutting machine. Because the alphabet sticker set didn't come with a hyphen, I cut apart one of the letter Z's to use as a dash (we never use up those letter Z's anyways, right?). I love that the bright pink stands out boldly across the more neutral tones of the patterned papers I used in my page, and I really like how the curved alphabet looks over the background collage patterned paper. I also added a puffy sticker that says "Beauty" from the puffy sticker sheet along the left edge of my photo to emphasize the vertical lines going on in the strips of patterned papers.

Here's a look at how my layout turned out compared to the original sketch! I feel like I say this every time I do a sketch challenge, but I love how effortlessly I was able to put together this page using the sketch!

I also love how the Flea Market Findings kit has some papers and embellishments that are neutral enough to go with photos from any occasion, with some pops of color to brighten up any layout! Make sure to check out this kit bundle up in the Citrus Twist Kits shop to get a discount on all these goodies!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Life Crafted Inspiration with Lory

Hey there everyone!
How are you? How is going your Summer? I'm waiting and living every single free moment to stay with my boys and have fun with family and friends. To be true I want sea, sun, sunset and a cold drink, it's the little things, right?

Today I am happy to share my latest 6x8 spread. Lately I am obsessed from little details more than ever! So what I am trying to do is to have fun using papers and embellishments in new creative ways. They are my new creative ways, something different than usual.

The July kit, the Flea Market Findings 2 Kit,  is adorable, I love the colors, the patterned papers, the journaling cards that are always one of my favorite pieces!

For this 6x8 spread I have thought to a minimal design, as always LOL, but with different colorful points of accent. I have separated the page in squares, each square  has a detail.

In one I put fringes with little stripes of the patterned papers, in another a stitched summer leave tone on tone, in another some beautiful embellishments, a picture and the little tag with phrases.

For the last one I mentioned I have used the amazing citrus twist stamps, I am obsessed with them. They are one more beautiful than the other. I wrote my journaling using the stamps.

To complete the spread I added the bookmark with the quote that sounded perfect for what I had on my mind.

The thing I think every time I am at my crauti disk to create with Citrus Twist products it's that everything looks so easy to put together, I have fun and I chase away the stress.

I hope to have given you the right inspiration, I personali can't wait to see my Summer album full of beautiful memories.

Love, Lory

3-TO-INSPIRE WITH KATARINA

Hey scrappy friends!

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend with lots of time for crafting. Today I'm bringing you some inspiration using the beautiful new Flea Market Findings v2 kit and some of my favorite Citrus Twist alphabet stamps

Here are my three prompts to inspire you:

1. Use circles or other geometrical shapes in a vertical column.

2. Use a piece of ribbon, lace or twine.

3. Use at least two types of alphabet stamps for your title.

And here's my project for today. I created a layout in my Sea Glass 6x8 Life Crafted Album.

I loved how the grey patterned paper from the July Kit looked with the photo of my son with pink peonies so I went with it for my background together with the green floral paper. I printed and cut my photo as a circle and incorporated it in a vertical column of circles using some of the Flea Market Findings v2 Chipboard Stickers, Die Cuts and Puffy Stickers. I also used the self-adhesive lace from the July Kit to ground my photo.

The beautiful flower die cuts were totally made for this photo! I used a bunch of them to frame it from one side adding one of the yellow Tiny Word Stickers.

To balance my layout, I decided to add my title to the lower left side. I used one of the puffy stickers and a combination of my favorite Bailey and Harper Alphabet stamps. As a finishing touch I scattered the Enamel Dots from the kit here and there and called my layout done.

I really love the variety of products that I found in the Flea Market Findings v2 kit. So much to choose from! I hope you also feel inspired by the kit as well as by my project and that my prompts challenge you to create something beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by, friends!

LIFE CRAFTED INSPIRATION WITH KERSTIN

Hello! Kerstin here today with an inspiration in my 6 x 8 Tangerine Album (I love love love this color!).

The new Flea Market Findings V2 Kit is simply magical! The striped paper has done it to me immediately! Also, I had to use the Flea Market Findings V2 Die Cut Ephemera - they are just too cute!

I put the striped paper in a Life Crafted 6 x 8 #10 Full Page Protector and color coded the various Die Cut Ephemera on it.

Here you can see a closer look at the different Elements in the Rainbow colors!

On the right side, I made a couple of "flaps" from solid color cardstock. On top I decorated with Flea Market Findings V2 Die Cut Ephemera, Puffy Stickers and Chipboard Stickers. I also stamped with the amazing Harlowe Alphabet stamps.

I placed my photos on as well as in the flaps.

I wrote my journaling in the flaps. And that's it! I love how this pages turned out and I hope I can inspire you to get creative with the fantastic kit!

Have a creative weekend!

Kerstin xx

Sunday Sketch With Aimee

Hey there Citrus Twist friends! It's Aimee here showing off this week's Sunday Sketch! As usual this sketch was a breeze to work from especially since it's a grid! Let's take a look at the sketch and I'll walk you through my adaptations and the products.

As you can see it's a super fun grid design and a full page layout. I opted to leave it this format but it could easily be adapted to travelers notebook size too. I really loved the Flea Market Findings Vol. 2 die cut piece at the top of the sketch that says, "snap shot of the day" and I let this guide my photos for the page. I selected photos of a rather lazy Sunday morning and told our story.

I followed the sketch rather closely and selected patterned paper from the Flea Market Finding Vol. 2 6x8.25 inch paper pack and trimmed them down into 2x2 inch pieces. The sketch calls for frames but unfortunately I didn't have any — no worries it still looks great without them! Once I got my squares lined up with my photos  I ran the layout through my sewing machine and stitched along the edges of the squares for some added texture.

After the stitching was done I got to work dressing up all my little squares and adorning them with all kinds of bits and bobs. I used die cuts and tags from the new Flea Market Vol. 2 Kit and layered them up for interest and the Flea Market Findings Puffy Stickers add a lot of dimension.

Now, I thought about not including the title portion of the sketch but when I looked at my photos I decided that a title would give a lot more context to the layout so I decided on, "livin' easy" after song lyrics. Hands up if you're familiar with the tune! I used the Sunshine Puffy Alpha to spell out the title and I really can't get enough of this gorgeous yellow alpha! It's one of my favorites!

I did some subtle grey stamping around the page with this small but mighty Citrus Twist 3x4inch stamp set from my stash and added some enamel dots to either side of my title.

This sketch can be as simple or as complex as you'd like— if you're like me you'll love adding all sorts of different layers and products to the collage! It's a really fun opportunity to stretch your creativity and use up some goodies. I hope you'll give this week's sketch a try and that you've walked away inspired.

Affectionately,

3-to-Inspire with Desiree

Hi friends! Today I am here with this week's 3-to-inspire.  Here's what I chose.

1. pocket pages
2. hearts
3. patterned paper

For this spread, I chose to work in my Blueberry Life Crafted Album and the #2 page protectors with 3x4 pockets. These fun pictures from a recent visit to the World of Coke were perfect for this month's kit.

I started by selecting my patterned papers, there were so many good ones to choose from. I chose a 6x8 paper from the Flea Market Findings V2 Papers, a journal card, and a digital paper from the Flea Market Findings V2 Digital Papers. I used the blue diamond patterned paper as my base page and cut hearts from the remaining papers.

I layered the hearts vertically on the page. I also cut my photo into a heart shape to add to the layers. I love working with hearts, there are many ways to use them and add them to your projects. Once I saw all the pretty papers, I knew hearts would be perfect for this spread.

To make the page a little more fun, I decided to unevenly layer the hearts instead of stacking them in a perfect line. I couldn't resist adding the Flea Market Findings V2 Puffy Stickers and the Flea Market Findings V2 Tiny Word Stickers to the hearts. The colors were the perfect balance of softness that I was hoping for.

I saved my pockets for last. I reprinted this brown and white journal card with the flowers and butterflies because it is my favorite. I thought using the design twice would help to create a more cohesive layout. I popped a few of the Flea Market Findings Enamel Dots through my spread. To complete the layout, I added a phrase sticker to the 3x4  picture of my husband and me.

I hope you enjoyed today's spread. I hope you take a moment to try out this week's 3-to-Inspire with the lovely Flea Market Findings V2 kit. Stay crafty!
