3-to-Inspire with Desiree Lamar

Happy holidays scrappy friends! I am sharing this week's 3-to-Inspire challenge using the Oh What Fun Christmas Kit

For this challenge, I used ribbon, floral die-cuts, and phrase die-cuts or stickers. Here's my layout.

I kept it pretty simple with two large clusters. I started with white cardstock on a simple patterned base. My goal was to incorporate the ribbon into the page. I decided to wrap it around each corner like a gift. I chose this blue, velvet ribbon from the Oh What Fun Kit that has sticker backing.

The light, pastel color of the ribbon inspired me to keep my whole page light. So I reached for soft-colored florals from the Winter Florals Ephemera pack. The florals were perfect to layer on my clusters. I added doilies and 6x8.5 papers from the Oh What Fun Kit to complete my clusters.

There were so many gorgeous titles to choose from in the Oh What Fun Icon Ephemera pack. I decided to do a double phrase with "love" and "good cheer" I love how the colors echoed the colors in the layout.

My layout felt very light and airy. To ground it and give it contrast, I splattered black paint throughout the page.

This layout left me feeling all the good cheer. I think my favorite part is the ribbon. Thank you so much for following along with me today! Happy Holidays!

SUNDAY SKETCH with Desiree

Happy Fall scrappy friends! Today I have a multi-photo, Fall sketch to share with you. Let's take a look at it below.

This four-photo sketch was a challenge for me since I usually only scrap 1-2 photos per layout. However, I was still excited to give the sketch a go. Here's what I came up with.

I started the layout with a wood-grain paper as my base. Then I found scalloped frames in the Farmstead Harvest Ephemera. So, I decided to use a square scallop die to die cut my own frames from the CTK Change is Beautiful 6x8 Digital Papers and  Farmstead Harvest 6x8 Paper Pad. These frames really helped me to layer my photos more easily.

Next, I placed beautiful leaves from the CTK Feels Like Home Ephemera into this large, four-photo cluster. This is my favorite part of the layout.  I also added Farmstead Harvest Ephemera bits and CTK Changing Season Puffy Stickers.

To keep in line with the sketch, I made sure to include my journaling on a Farmstead Harvest Tag

To add more contrast to my layout and make my cluster pop, I painted my page with watercolor paint. I layered it under the photos to make it seem like it was already there.

To complete my photo, I placed two small titles. I used the "Home" die cut from the CTK Feels Like Home Ephemera and my favorite CTK Puffy Alpha Stickers

Thank you so much for following along on this sketch challenge with me. I wish you a crafty day!

SUNDAY SKETCH WITH DESIREE

Hi crafty friends! I am really happy to be here with you and share today's sketch. Let's take a look at it below.

When I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to use the Sunshine Mini-Kit. It is a fun, bright kit that's perfect for Summer time.

I started by layering my Sunshine digital papers at the bottom of my pages. This was to mimic to band at the bottom of the sketch.

Next, I layered my photos on the left page on using the Flea Marketing Findings Chipboard Frames.  I let bits of the Sunshine Ephemera peek from under my photos.

Some of the florals were left to wander onto the right page to let my cluster take up more space.

To make my title I used my favorite Retro Puffy Word Stickers. I also used some of the extra bits from the stickers to decorate my page.

This sketch made it fun and easy to capture my Summer memories. Thank you for following along.

 Happy crafting!

3-to-Inspire with Desiree Lamar

Hello, my crafty friends! it's has been a while so I am certainly excited to be here with this week's 3-to-Inspire challenge.

Here are my 3 picks:

2. tags
3. patterned paper

Here's what I came up with. I love that I was able to fit five pictures and journaling in my spread using those items.

For this spread, I worked in my Life Crafted Album. I started with patterned paper from the Life in Motion Digital Papers. I decided to use the same blue grid paper for both pages to create congruency in my spread.

Then I placed my photo strip on the left page. I left it simple by adding fussy cut florals from the Life in Motion Papers and a "You Are My Sunshine" circle from the Life in Motion Digital Elements

Next, I pulled this older striped CTK paper from my stash and a blue tag from the Citrus Twist Shop to create hidden journaling under my photos.

I simply cut the papers down to about 2.5 in x 5 in and folded them over vertically. Then adhered the tags under the first half of the folded paper. Adding the tag helped to make a flap that made the journaling easily accessible.

I used the Fresh Start Puffy Phrase Stickers to add my vertical "Cherish" title. I completed my spread by adding more fussy cut florals and Life in Motion Elements.

Just like that, my spread was complete. I am amazed at how such a simple spread can hold so much meaning.

Thank you for following along with me today! I hope you are inspired!

Sunday Sketch with Desiree

Hi crafty peeps! I am excited to share the Sunday sketch with the new, awesome, exclusive 2023 Travelogue kit. Let's take a look at this week's sketch.

I thought that this sketch would be perfect for me because it is simple enough for me to put my own spin on it. The first thing I thought about was layering the beautiful, bold color patterned papers from the Travelogue kit on this page.

For this sketch challenge, I decided to do a spread in my Sunshine Life Crafted Album.  Before layering the digital Travelogue papers under my picture, I smudged a bit of yellow ink on the paper to peek from under the cluster.

I added a smaller picture to the lower right side of the larger picture. Then I layered the Travelogue Ephemera through the page. Below the cluster, I placed my typed journaling.

I decided to have a lot of fun with the left page. I started by smudging yellow and green ink on my paper. Once I saw the travel-themed polaroid picture die cuts, I knew wanted to vertically stack them on my page.  To add more interest, I staggered the die cuts vertically over my smudged ink, layering them over floral ephemera from the Travelogue die cuts.  I added the "journey" and "explore" die-cut words to the vertical cluster.

I used the Chloe Alphabet Stamp to add the small "into the city" title to the bottom of the page. Then I completed the spread by adding black splatters to tie in both pages.

I absolutely love the finished results of this Sunday Sketch. My favorite has to be the Travelogue papers in the cluster and the stacked polaroids from the Travelogue Die Cuts

I am so happy you joined me today. I wish you a happy, crafty weekend.

XO Desiree

Sunday Sketch with Desiree Lamar

Hey CTK friends! Today I am here to share my take on this week's sketch challenge with the gorgeous Cherish Mini-Kit.

Let's take a look at the lovely sketch.

I'm a sucker for layering so I could not wait to give this sketch a try.

I started by backing my white cardstock on floral paper. Then I chose this soft yellow-lined patterned paper from the Cherish Traveler's Notebook Digital Papers that would not compete with the large cluster.

Then I added a pretty, pink, floral journal card from the Cherish Digital Journals Cards. After layering my photos on each side of the card, I used this pink doily from the Cherish Die Cut Ephemera. Once I typed my journaling on vellum, I placed it on the doily.

I layered in the florals from the Cherish Die Cut Ephemera to help create balance in this large cluster. Then placed the Cherish Puffy Word, Phrase, and Number Stickers and Cherish Heart Stickers throughout the layout.

I used the Sadie Teal Green Alpha Stickers to create my title. I love how perfectly the alpha colors match the rest of the design. To complete the layout, I splattered pink, yellow, and blue ink throughout the page.

Thank you for following along on today's sketch. I hope you find some time to be crafty.

SUNDAY SKETCH WITH DESIREE

Hello crafty friends! Today I am so excited to share my take on this month's sketch. Let's take a look at it below.

I really loved the stacked layers on this sketch. My first thought was to use paint for those background strips, but I decided to use the gorgeous Life Crafted Gather Traveler's Notebook Digital Papers

To recreate this sketch, I made a 6x8 layout in my Life Crafted 6x8 Peony Album. The first two patterned paper layers were made using this pink floral paper from the Gather Digital Papers and the woodgrain paper from the Heart and Hustle Digital Notebook Papers.

Next, I placed my photo at the bottom of the layered patterned paper. I decided to work my photo cluster up the page. This way it resembled the sketch without matching it perfectly.

I used the exclusive Citrus Twist Kits Gather Die Cuts from the Gather Mini Kit to build the cluster. I love how the beautiful jewel-toned, autumn florals framed opposite corners of my picture. I added thin, horizontal patterned paper strips to the top and bottom of the paper from the Gather Digital Papers to ground my page.

To complete the layout, I placed the "grateful" die cut at the top right of my cluster. Then I sprinkled the Jewel Tone Citrus Twist Kits Enamel Dots throughout the edges of my cluster.

Thank you so much for spending some creative time with us today! I love how this layout came together thanks to the gorgeous, Fall Gather Mini Kit and sketch. I hope you are feeling inspired.

LIFE CRAFTED INSPIRATION WITH DESIREE

Hi crafty friends! I am super excited to work with the beautiful Citrus Twist Kits Add-On Kit for the month of September.

This wonderfully curated kit includes some pieces from the Bo Bunny Beautfiul Things collection, as well as some CTK exclusives and Tim Holtz rub-ons. I love the vintage feel of the kit with the beautiful pops of color. For this spread, I worked in my Rasperry Life Crafted Album.

For the base pages of my spread, I used this black and white typed patterned paper from the Coming Home 6x8 Ledger Basics Digital Papers. Then, I cut strips from two patterned papers from the Bo Bunny 6x8 papers, sewed them together, then adhered them to the right side of my right page.

I used library cards, cardstock stickers, doilies, and patterned papers to create layers behind my photo. I added puffy stickers, label stickers, and paper clips from the CTK Add-on kit to my photo cluster. I used the Citrus Twist Rose Gold Puffy Alpha Stickers to make my title. Then I layered phrases under my cluster using the Citrus Twist Label Sticker and Tim Holtz Rub-Ons from the Add-On Kit.

One of my favorite things about this kit is that it comes with plenty of ways to add texture and depth to your project, including doilies, clips, ribbon, twine, etc.

On my left page, I used the Bo Bunny Beautiful Things file folder die cuts to create pockets for my hidden journaling. Instead of placing them directly on my page, I layered them on top of a vintage library paper that came with the kit. I put my journaling on tags and placed them on the pockets. I added phrases to the pockets using the Tim Holtz white and black rub-ons.

Just like that, my spread was complete. I hope you enjoyed this spread in my Life Crafted album. Don't forget to stop by the Citrus Twist Kit Shop to check out all of the new September releases.
