Life Crafted with Sabrina

Hey everyone!! This is Sabrina and this will be my first post with Citrus Twist and I am so excited to be creating with Citrus Twist products. I will be use the Life Crafter The Best Part kit to make this project.

For my first project I went with a fun, floral filled spread in my Life Crafted Flamingo album. I wanted to document seeing my Mom for the first time in over 3 months. With the wild year we are all having its even more important to document these special moments.

When I saw the beautiful floral 6x8 paper and die cuts in the September kit I knew I would use those as my focus in my project. I framed my photo with a few florals as a cluster and also used some on the opposite side to make another cluster.

I also added in some labels with stamped phrases on them like “woohoo!” and “It’s the little things” from the September 2020 Travelers Notebook stamp set. Plus, I used the half circle stamps from the set This is Life- Good Life to add some more visual interest to my layout.

Overall, I love how this project came together and how the floral pieces really helped tie the whole spread together. Just shows that you don't need much except a beautiful coordinating kit to bring a page together!

Thank you for reading!

Open Post with Erica

Hello lovely friends! Today I am sharing the first half of a family travel story to the stunning Fiji islands! I'm going back to my 2016 Project Life album- which is far from complete. I worked mainly with the digitals this month + the Traveler's Notebook stamp and the Turquoise Foam Alphas.

I designed my own title card on Photoshop by layering the coral and starfish ephemera on this fantastic rainbow grid paper. I used the Turquoise Foam Alphas from the kit and dug into my stash for this complementary Pink Chipboard Alpha.

I printed out most of the ephemera and tags to fussy cut and use traditionally, but I added a few elements straight onto my photos when I printed them. I layered a bunch of tags on this pool photo and combined them with a couple physical ones.  I also changed the color of the ice cream die cut to contrast against the pink food card I used.

The purple card in this photo was originally a smaller black box from the Digital Journal Cards. Altering it digitally gave me the freedom to change it to a lighter colour that suited my spread better. On the lower 4x6 photo I layered a few pieces from the Digital Cutaparts.

To finish off my spread I added a few phrases from the Traveler's Notebook stamp set. The layout needed a few more pops of black after I added the date stamping on my title card.

Thanks for joining me on the blog today! I hope I've given you a little inspiration to play with digitals!

Big Photo Layout by Angela

Hey friends!

Angela back with a brand new project featuring True Stories August kit. Today, I am sharing a fun scrapbook A4 size page made using a big photo.

The photo is from a couple of hears ago and I took it during our travel to Sicily. I printed it at home, with my Epson printer on regular photocopy paper.
I trimmed half inch all around the photo and created two embellished corners. At the top left, I layered two different patterned papers from the kit. I chose a fresh and summery combo in orange and pink that perfectly match with the color of my title.

The title is a die-cut always from the kit and I adhered it on the photo using some foam tape to make it pop and create some shadows.
As a subtitle, I printed the phrase Ready For This with black dye ink. This is from True Stories kit stamp, as well as the phrase Wild And Beautiful underneath.

On the opposite corner, at the bottom right, I cut a rough triangle shape from another piece of patterned paper. I adhered it creating a pocket to hold a tag where I wrote the journaling. To avoid that the tag get lost, I stapled the string directly on the side of the page.

I added a few embellishments on the corner and by the title, like this cute little shallow and I finish off with some machine stitching.
As I said, I printed the photo on photocopy paper so, to reinforce and make the layout sturdy, I adhered the page on an A4 white heavy card-stock.

That's all for today my friends. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog. I hope you like the page and feel inspired to create with True Stories Citrus Twist kits!
XO, NG

Life Crafted with Erica

Hey crafty friends! I hope you are all well. Today I am sharing a Life Crafted page made entirely with the True Stories August Digital Files!

I was inspired by this Bear Crossing ephemera piece from the Digital Tags and used everything from the papers (patterned and travelers notebook!) to the free Cutapart Elements to bring it to life. The digitals are a great option to consider with the whole world experiencing shipping delays right now.

I used Photoshop to create this spread, resizing elements and combining different papers. On this first page I combined one of the Travler's Notebook Basics pages with a Pattern Paper. Then I resized some of the flowers and butterflies from the Ephemera to layer under my tag.

To stop this layout coming out completely flat I added some texture by popping the tag up on foam. I also printed the flowers and butterflies separately. That simple additional layer of paper adds so much visual interest.

On the second page I layered to my heart's content until I was happy with it on Photoshop. And one cool thing I found with the digital ephemera was that the background parts that would normally be white card stock are clear digitally, so layering looks even better! Then I printed out everything except the bottom paper as one layer and adhered them together. I added the tiny flowers and butterfly on top as I did with the first page.

Using digital files really opens up a whole new world to resize and play with the content as much as you want. I had so much fun creating this layout with just the digitals this month and I hope this has given you some ideas on how to use them!

Life Crafted with Veronica

Hello my crafty friends!

Veronica here with a Life Crafted layout. I decided to create a small layout sized 5x8" which fits perfectly inside my summer album. This album is a simple 1 2x2" photo of my oldest kiddo when he turned 15 in June! I know, I know....how is that possible if I'm only 25 you ask? LOL!!
Here I used 2 PL cards from the Aug kit as a base background. The ampersand is a 3x4" card and the grid card to the right is a 4x6".
Then I layered 4 labels that also come as cut aparts in the kit. I love these labels and I use them up every month. I love to stamp, layer and sew on them. Here I layered  them and then layered the numbers 1 ad 5 from the pattern paper. I also stamped and added a foam arrow from the kit:
I love machine stitching anywhere I can and so I used black thread to add some pop and balance to the layout:

Hope you enjoyed this sweet little layout I created all about my "man-child". lol
Happy crafting and happy Friday!

Life Crafted | Mini Album | Video | with Patricia

Hello CTK Friends!  Today I want to share a Life Crafted project using the August Scrapbooking Add-On kit.

This kit is a great mix of vintage soft colors but also a great mix of vibrant bold colors.  I pulled the soft colors for today's project!  I started by cutting pattern paper from the kit with the Affirmation Screen cut file.  The middle 'LOVE SELF' cuts out separately, so after backing everything, I foam adhered it to make it stand out even more.

I used the pattern paper cut out pieces from the cut file to stitch and frame my left side.  I chose a pattern paper background that was a complement to the overall colors of the blush, peach, and grey.  After adding my stamping with the Typewriter Alpha Set, and typed journaling, I started adding layers to mat under my photo.  The doily comes in the kit!  And then finished with trimming a die cut, adding stamping with Stories stamp, and embellishments from the Add-On.

The right side was perfect with the cut file cut from pattern paper and then partially backed with more pattern paper and the peach textured cardstock.  To create more motion from the cut file, I added the large butterflies from the Add-On.

I finished the bottom with a circle chipboard from the August Life Crafted kit, and stamping with the August Traveler's Notebook stamp set in grey and black for added interest and focus on 'reality strikes.'  I added black machine stitching all the way around the right page before adhering anything, and added the same stitching on the left side to create balance and repetition.

I have two more projects to share here that are part of the video this month on the Citrus Twist Kits YouTube channel.  You can watch the video in HD here or at the end of this post.  The first project uses the August Life Crafted kit and two new Instax photo page protectors coming soon!!!  You will love them!  The August kit is sold out, but the Stories stamp and cards from the kit are still available here!

The video shows the measurements of the photos and the trimmed cards to fit the pockets.

These new pockets are great for adding layers, especially for this beach trip.  I printed my photos to look like Instax photos, but if you have an Instax camera or printer, documenting trips will be super fun and quick with these pockets.

Inspired by the Instax photo size, the Stories Stamp set, and the clothing tags from my daughter's recent Justice shopping spree, I created this little mini album using the August Scrapbooking Add-On kit.

I used the Stories arch stamp image four different ways in this mini.  You can see how in the video below.

I created a pattern of using the trimmed pattern paper from the Add-On to the same size of the Instax, the foam flower embellishments from the kit (a must-have), and die cuts from the kit, alternating until I finished with the gold doily from the add-on kit as well!

You can watch the video here to see how I created these two projects.  Thank you so much for watching and joining me!!
