Pocket Life Challenge with Erica

Hello crafty friends! Erica here with a pocket page in my 2020 album for the weekly Pocket Page Challenge.

Week 32 was a big one for my family. We moved back into our house from a rental and were overwhelmed with boxes! There were plenty of cute die cuts and cards that related to travel and journey in the September kit that inspired this page.

This was actually our second, larger moving day. Round one (the week before) was everything from the rental house and round two was everything from storage. I used the Soft Mint Puffy Alphas for this title and paired it with a couple of adorable tickets from the ephemera pack.

I worked with a few digital elements on this layout. I added my journaling digitally since I had a lot to say and wasn't sure it would fit! I also grabbed the 'Where To Begin' element from one of the Travelers Notebook Basics papers to print out separately and use as a die cut.

To end our big moving day we were greeted with the most amazing sunset. I just knew this was the universe's way of saying good luck with unpacking! I grabbed some mini tile alphas and added them straight onto the photo.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

Sunday Sketch with Alena

Hey everyone!  It's Alena with  layout for Sunday Sketch.

Here's a look at the sketch this week:

And here's what I came up with using the beautiful The Best Parts Kit.

I created a Title out of Mint Puffy Alphabet Stickers.

I love this cut file, so I used this as the main element. I added stamped leaves from the "GOOD LIFE" Stamp to the flower

Well, then it is time for you be inspired by the sketch to create a page of your own.  Remember to share your creations with us on the Citrus Twist Kits Friends page on Facebook or by using #CTK, @Citrustwistkits on social media.  I cannot wait to see what you create with this sketch.

Life Crafted with Erica

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a fun layout in my Life Crafted album using the September The Best Parts kit.

For this funny story about a friend's cat I wanted to use multiple photos and a long title. My favourite way to use multiple photos is to make a loose grid. It's probably the avid pocket scrapper in me that makes me want to contain everything in boxes!

In each section of my grid I added an embellishment cluster. For the main cluster I used a selection of tags and tickets from the ephemera pack and a floral to hold it all together. I embellished the photos more simply to let them stand out.

For my long title I used the Soft Mint Puffy Alphas in the shop, and paired them with an alpha from an older kit the for a pop of colour. This long title helps to keep the same shape of the photos for the grid.

On the left hand side of my spread I kept it simple and used the 3x8 Bookmark in the kit with one of the patterned papers. I ran it through my typewriter for a little bit of journaling, and then created an embellishment cluster at the the bottom to compliment the elements on the right side.

Thanks for joining me on the blog today! Go forth and be crafty :)

Sunday Sketch with Angela

Hello friends, happy Sunday!
It's Angela here and today I am on the blog with our Sunday Sketch Challenge. This is the sketch I played with this week

It is a beautiful 12x12 inch sketch with a single photo and a fun banner on the side. I created my page using The Best Parts Life Crafted kit as well as September Add-on kit. Here is what I came up with!

At first I planned to use the pink patterned paper from the Add-on kit, paper Blooming from Fresh Bouquet collection  by Crate Paper, but I preferred to save those gorgeous flowers on the reverse side for another project. Also, I wanted to get messy and create my color background. So, after the initial hesitation, I chose white card-stock for as the base of my page. This came with the Add-on kit too.

Just a little side note; the layout is dedicate to my friend Valentina, my sweet girlfriend I spent the summer with. Here is the meaning of the title, Vale is the abbreviation of her name and I stamped it on the layout using my favorite stamp ever, Citrus Twist Kits Madison Alphabet.

Now, back to the background. I used Distress Oxide inks in yellow, pink and green. First, I added some water to the pigment and used them with a brush, like watercolors. When the color was dry, I added a second layer of color of pure pigment using a brayer.

Instead of using tickets and numbers like the sketch, I fussy cut a few tags from paper Old School by Heidi Swapp and hanged them to a piece of string to create the banner.

I stamped a few phrases from September Traveler's Notebook stamp in black, to balance the page with the black title. Last, I added a few die cuts and stickers from the kits and voilà!

If you'd like to see me in action, here is the process video of the layout.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you like the layout and feel inspired to create your own version of the sketch. If so, please share it on the Citrus Twits Kits Fan page on Facebook, we would love to see your pages!
Love, NG

3 -To-Inspire with Sheree

Hello friends!

It’s Sheree here with this week’s 3-to-inspire challenge!

The three prompts I have for this project include:

1. Use 3 photos

2. Add texture with machine stitching

3. Tip your title on its side!

Here’s what I came up with featuring the gorgeous September “The Best Parts” Life Crafted Kit…

I selected one of the papers from the kit and cut it to size for a full-sized page before machine stitching around the edge.  I also picked out two journaling cards to use on the second page of the spread.

I cropped each of my photos to 2 inches square, printed them out and arranged them down the full -sized page. I embellished each photo with pieces from the ephemera pack

I used the large “beautiful” die cut ephemera word up the side of the page then finished the title using the pretty puffy alphabet stickers.

At the top of the second page is my journaling.  I printed the text and adhered it to the card before adding some machine stitching.  I stamped a phrase from the “The Best Part” stamp set onto an ephemera label and adhered it above the journaling with foam tape.  Another ephemera piece was added to the bottom of the card.  I stamped another phrase from the same stamp set and added the date as well.

I loved the “so good” card just the way it was but I decided to stitch a few rows to add a little texture.

All I had to do then was add it into my Life Crafted album!

I have a video below if you'd like to see my process...

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing how I put this spread together and that you might have a go at using the three prompts yourself to create something fun too!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Enjoy your weekend!

Life Crafted with Diane

Hi everyone, Diane here with a really quick spread in my Life Crafted album.

Nothing picks me up quicker on those days when I'm feeling a bit meh than a little gratitude. So today I put together a gratitude spread in my Life Crafted album using the September Life Crafted kit and the Good Life stamp set.

I knew the "today's victories" 3x4 card from the kit would be perfect for this type of page so I grabbed it out, along with some of the gorgeous florals from the die cut pack. I also grabbed another co-ordinating 3x4 card but ended up swapping it out for a piece of light pink patterned paper from the kit after I decided I would keep the page fairly monochromatic.

I started with some base pages I made from pink card stock, these are trimmed to 5x8.25 inches each and hole punched to fit my album. Then I trimmed a strip from the woodgrain paper so it would fit on the left hand page. I kept the smaller strip and added it to the right hand page.

Before I adhered those pieces down, I ran the edges around with my sewing machine and distressed them with a distressing tool. I also heat embossed one of the stamps from the Good life kit with a sparkly antique silver embossing powder.

I added my journalling in pink ink, and adhered everything down, including the florals which I place in 3 different focal points. I made sure to adhere my Instax photo with a couple of staples to make sure it never comes unstuck from the page!

Last step was to add a few of the puffy heart stickers in co-ordinating woodgrain tones across the spread.

Here's a look at the process this layout took ...

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to share your Life Crafted pages in the Citrus Twist Facebook Fan page! We'd all love to see them!

Life Crafted Album Spread with Shannon

Hello there, crafty friends! Shannon here with a Life Crafted spread mostly using the September 2020 add on kit. I used a mix of Instax page protectors (coming to the Citrus Twist shop soon!) and a full-size page. I really enjoy the variation in sizes on either side! Plus, the alpha in the add on kit is large and certainly calls for a larger page size.

I did use one item from the September 2020 Life Crafted kit, and that is the journaling card in the upper left corner. I used the digital version of the card so I could resize it to fit in the Instax-sized pocket. All I had to do was type my journaling on it and print it out. Next to it, I added a photo that I made into an Instax print using a Photoshop template that I made (you can find the free download in the Citrus Twist Kits Fan Page group on Facebook). To jazz it up a little, I added a few bits of ephemera from the September 2020 add on kit. I wanted to make sure I had some silver/holographic ephemera on there to be a common thread throughout my spread.

In the wide horizontal Instax pocket below that, I created a cluster full of all the pretty ephemera pieces from the September 2020 add on kit. The ephemera pack included is from Heidi Swapp and it's so full of a wonderful variety of pieces in her eclectic style. I pulled out pieces that matched the color scheme that I used throughout the rest of the spread. The polaroid frame would have been perfect for a photo but I chose to use the Good Life stamp set to fill it in with a sweet sentiment instead. I also used the True Life stamp set to do some repeated stamping on the "today was" label.

I tried to keep the right side of the spread fairly simple and neutral since the left side has a lot going on. I used the woodgrain paper from the September 2020 Life Crafted Kit for the background. The kit and paper pack are sold out but you can get the digital version still. I picked out a few pieces of ephemera from the September 2020 add on kit to put around my photo. I liked the photo corners but I didn't like them on my photo so I put them behind it for a different look. The tag at the top of my photo pulls the silver/holographic color onto this page. I finished it all off by splitting my title on top of and below my photo using the large coral foam alphas from Simple Stories.

I hope you enjoyed this walk through my process. I can't wait to see what you create with the September add on kit!
