3 Pages with Gina

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing a few pages created with the gorgeous Santorini main scrapbook kit and Embellishment kits. 

I've had fun playing with the die-cuts in the embellishment kit on this page, using them as a mask 

and then adding a few back into the design to provide contrast and texture. 

This time I've created a white border on the kraft cardstock using gesso, white pen and watercolour.

The little hand-cut birds make a cute addition and add a pop of colour

I've also used them on this page, and kept the whole design pretty simple

Happy Tuesday!

I'm here sharing my layout created with the April 2016 "Santorini" Pocket Life Kit +April 2016 Sprinkles Kit. This layout is about my son. 

I need a sheet of white cardstock.  First, I cut out some numbers using my Big Shot.

 Next,  drew circles around each number and put a piece of patterned paper behind each number cut out.

 Then added accents with watercolor.

 Next I added a photo, a title, a stitching, a few stickers....

It's Mira here today and I have a scrapbook challenge for You to jump in!

You can find this challenge here every Saturday for those who need a little extra creative push to get scrapbooking, to keep scrapbooking or for those who just like a challenge! These pages were made with my April pocket page scrapbook kit. Your take on this challenge can be a layout or a PL spread and remember that you'll want to include all 3 prompts on your project.

Your prompts this week are:

1. Stay monochromatic
2. Use a transparent elements on top of Your journaling
3. Mix a few cards/papers to create Your own and unique PL card

And here's my inspiration - first - this is how I stay monochromatic:

I use only the products from Sprinkles and PL Kit based on the colors from my pictures.

Then to meet the second prompt I place a transparencies from April Sprinkles Kit on top of the card covered with journaling. This way the card is more interesting but still I can read everything what's underneath :)

And Finally I create my own PL cards to fill four 3x4 pockets in the middle of my spread:

Citrus Twist Kits exclusive papers are perfect for creating Your own cards! Using only the two of them together with a few stickers I created three simple cards. And the last card with the same pinkish design is from PL Kit - it suits here perfectly - this way I can keep my page monochromatic.

Digging up memories

Good morning!

Every once in a while I get nostalgic and dig through old folders of photos.  Usually I find a few that I love that get put into a "to scrap" folder.  Sometimes that folder provides me with a little inspiration. This page is a product of that inspiration.

This photo was taken in 2011 when my littlest was barely about over a year.  She was to tiny and sweet.  I miss this so much.  Thankfully there are photos and this wonderful hobby to remind me of this awesome time.

Tuesday Tutorial with Melissa Mann

Good Morning!

I'm sharing my pocket page process with you this morning!

I really loved the large acetate words that were included in the April kit! I tried to put at least one of the words on every page to add some cohesion to the three spreads I completed in my album.  I am *still* working on getting 2015 caught up!

The first step is obviously printing out my photos. I used Photoshop and my Canon Selphy printer and print all my photos at home. This has worked really well for me as I can print exactly how many photos I need and the size I need. Once all my photos are printed out, I match them up to which page protector will best work. I still have a lot of 12x12 page protectors left over and even though I'm using the 9x12 album, I'm making them work! I cut them down to the size that will fit. I love having all the different sized protectors in my album :-)

Once my photos are printed, I cut them down with my paper trimmer. I usually print a variety of 4x6 photos and 3x4 photos. I really love adding a sequence of photos in my albums. I had 3 pictures that I had taken of my husband one evening and really wanted to incorporate them into one of my spreads. I printed all three at the 3x4 size and converted them to black and white.

Once my photos are printed and trimmed, I decide which cards and background papers I want to use with them. I typically use the 6x6 papers included in the Pocket Life Kits for my 4x6 photos. I cut them down to that size and then trim my photos to be slightly smaller. I love the look of machine stitching and usually stitch all these together.

I also picked out two cards to use for some longer journaling: the yellow woodgrain(ish) paper trimmed to 4x6 and the "Now" 3x4 card. Since I was documenting the month of September, I really didn't want the word "March" to show on the top of my 3x4 card. I used one of the text stickers to cover it up and it worked perfectly!

I typed up my journaling on the cards and then I decided I wanted to jazz up the three black and white photos of my husband with one of the acetate words. I placed it over the top of all three cards and then cut it into three pieces to stretch over all three photos. I then stitched this down with my sewing machine.

Once I have all my cards put together, I embellish all of them with stickers, stamps, etc.

Tuesday Tutorial

Happy Tuesday!!  Today I wanted to share a fun little mixed media tutorial with you.  I love creating canvas to hang all over my house or to give as a gift.  This one I plan to give to a friend.

So to get started you will need a canvas, mod podge, paint brush, patterned paper, embellishments and scissors.

Second cut your papers how ever you would like just so they cover the canvas.

Once you have the paper cut and you know where you want them it's time to Modpodge.  TIP: I take a picture once I have them in place so I know exactly where I had them.

I pour Mod Podge all over then take paint brush and cover the canvas.

Then after all the papers are placed down on the canvas, it's time to add the Mod Podge to the tops off the papers.  No worries it dries clear.

Now that the canvas is dry it's time to add the embellishments.  I like to wait till it's nice and dry so I can play with where to place my embellishments.  I wanted to mention I found the "friends" digital file on the Citrus Twist Fan FB Page under the files tab.  And the "forever" I cut on my cameo.  The little rose was cut out using my Big Shot and you can find the die in the Citrus Twist Store.

After you have everything where you want it you need to Mod Podge the back and front of each item.

3 To Inspire with Emma

Hi everyone!  I'm back with another round of my favourite weekly challenge; this weeks 3 To Inspire!  This week I'm using the gorgeous April kits - the colours this month are absolutely perfect, even as we head into our cooler weather in Australia ;)

I hope you'll join in with me this week using the following prompts:

1. Use 3 pattern papers to create your own patterned paper background.
2. Use a black & white photo
3. Use words (be they stamps/stickers/die-cuts) to make a border around your page.

Now I have to admit I thought this was a fun challenge!  The black and white photo is a no-brainer for me but the multiple pattern paper and border idea had me stumped for a little while.  And I confess I changed my plan for the pattern paper twice while putting it together, ha :)

Here's what I ended up with using the prompts:

Originally I had the background being vertical strips of pattern paper that went from one side to the other but then I got stuck on how to add the border (I wanted to use the word stickers from the Sprinkles kit), so I just chopped the strips into pieces and left a white space around the outside instead!   Easy one!

I'm not a big fan of my own hand-writing so almost all of my journaling is typed up on the computer and I print it out.  I use a type-writer font so it looks like I've used a type-writer :) 

I really like these mix of papers together - yellows and blue.  Although I'm a big fan of all the yellow in the kits this month!  Yellow is my happy colour so you'll see me sneaking it on pages all the time :)

I absolutely LOVE the word stickers that we get in the kits and was double happy when we had two (2) sheets in the Sprinkles kit this month!  Usually I hoard them for my planner pages but they were fun to work into the page as my border.
