KIT LOVE - April 2020

Hello dear friends!
April is here!  It is time for a new season, and though  we are all facing a new reality -one we never could have expected- there is always the little things.  Those are the ones we want to focus on, to celebrate, to help you document.

Our April Life Crafted kit, NIGHT & DAY is a combination of a soft color palette, versatile designs and as always lots of heart.  This month's soft focus are all the stories that happen daily.  We are sure that you are going to enjoy documenting your memories with it.
Let's join Trina as she shares a closer look at the Night & Day Life Crafted kit:

How beautiful is the kit!  We can only dream off all the stories you will tell with it.  But we have not forgotten about all the documenters that prefer a larger format.  So we are also releasing a Scrapbooking  Add-on kit along our stamps and Life Crafted kit:

This month we  are featuring  a paper selection from Heidi Swapp Chapters collection, The Stamp Market's Miss Modern collection and Crate Paper's Magical Forest collection.  The color palette of both kits complement each other, so it is easy to combine them both in your projects.  Join Nathalie as she shares an unboxing on the kit:

We are so excited to bring to you the April Kits along with our stamps and a selection of products that will help you document all the little things.  Our design team has been playing with the kit already and have create many beautiful projects. Here are a few close ups of what you will see on our Social Media...

We will make it through these hard times, but while we live our new reality don't forget to document the little things, to savor the moments and to dream of all the silver linings.

Stay safe our friends!

Pocket Page Challenge with Erica

Hey guys, Erica here, and today I am sharing the second pocket page layout I made with my Weekender kit!

I started with a simple title card - adding my week with the puffy alphas from the kit and a sub title with some tile alphas from a past kit. Then I added two of the flowers from the ephemera pack and sewed them on with happy yellow thread. I layered a photo on one journal card and cut out the sentiment from another to glue onto my photo.

It's usually not a proper Project Life spread from me if there's no movie of the week! This week was no exception and I have really taken to stitching down vellum to create pockets to hold my tickets. On my pocket I used some elements from the March Cutaparts sheet and then stamped with the add on stamps. I also printed the movie poster and layered it with some labels.

I added a third element of stitching on my layout by stitching down a die cut and paired it with a puffy heart. I have another photo with a simple die cut, and one card with a smaller photo that just needed a layer of paper and a tab.

On my last card I paired a few tabs and labels together with a brilliant sentiment stamp from the kit. I simply inked up half of the stamp each time to separate the phrases to nestle my TV show poster in between.

I hope this has given you a little inspiration for your own memory keeping with pockets. Thanks for joining me on the blog today!

Life Crafted with Sheree

Hi everyone!

It's Sheree here with you today to share a new Life Crafted spread featuring the super fun March 2020 "Weekender" Life Crafted Kit.

This photo makes me giggle every time I see it.  I looked up from my desk this particular day to see Madison looking at me from the couch with paper eyelashes stuck to her eyelids!  Of course I had to snap a quick photo and I'm so glad I did.  I love the quirky, funny things she does and I don't want to ever forget them...which is why I wanted to create this spread for my album!

I printed the journaling on the digital version of this card from the kit, added a die cut label and some machine stitching across the top, then stamped the date at the bottom.

The pretty floral card at the bottom of this pocket page was actually the reverse side of the card in the previous spread in my album.  It just happened to be perfect for this spread!  The stitching you can see is actually coming through from the other side but I was happy with how it looked so all I had to do was add the cute puffy heart sticker.

For the full sized page I decided on the gorgeous floral paper for the background.  I love that it matched the floral card and my journaling card so perfectly!

I printed and cut the photo out leaving a white section underneath like a polaroid.  This is where I added the pretty die cut flower, die cut phrase and a puffy heart sticker.  A row of machine stitching helped to add more texture.  I also added a chipboard sticker at the top of the photo.

Under the photo I used a label from the cut-apart sheet and the alpha stickers from the kit to add "LOL" as part of the title.  I only had one "L" left to use in my pack so I trimmed down a letter "E" to use as my second "L".  I used the March 2020 This Is Life "Weekend Life" Stamp Set to stamp the phrase underneath, then added a little more stitching.

You can see my process in the video below...

I love how this spread turned out with the soft pretty colours and florals from the "Weekender" Kit!

I hope you've enjoyed seeing how I put it all together.  Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today!

Sunday Sketch with Nikki

Hello Citrus Twist Kits Fans,

Nikki here with a inspiration for a scrapbook layout which I created with this week´s Sunday Sketch and the March Life Crafted Kit. Here is the sketch:

I love that the striped layout creates a lot of room for creativity. It is so versatile and you can freely combine the axes.

This is my version of implementing the sketch. As you can see, I have reinterpreted the stripes and replaced the three-way combination of the photos with bags in which a photo and the journaling have their place.

For the stripes in the background, I randomly cut a pattern paper into stripes so that they are crooked. This makes the background a little more lively and you can also work with smaller papers.

The bags were created from the journal cards. I sewed the stripes in the background and the bags with the sewing machine. The seams give the layout a certain something :)

After the base was finished, I cut the cards for into the pockets. With the Puffy Stickers, Alpha Stickers and Die Cuts I then decorated everything and finished the layout.

I hope you enjoyed the little inspiration for the sunday sketch and motivated you to get creative yourself. I am glad that you stopped by and we will see us again soo.

3-to-Inspire with Shannon

Hello crafty friends! Shannon here with a 3-to-Inspire post for you to give you some ideas for your next project. On this spread I'm using the March WEEKENDER Life Crafted Kit, Weekend Life stamp, and printable cutaparts.

My 3-to-Inspire items are:
1. Use a stamp
2. Make a cluster
3. Use puffy hearts

First, we'll start with the stamping. I used a stamp from the Weekend Life stamp set on the top right card with a sentiment about Sundays. Can anyone else relate? I also used a card from the March WEEKENDER Life Crafted Kit to stamp on that "currently" tag. I love stamping on my projects! In fact, I had a video on the CTK YouTube channel just a couple of weeks ago that includes stamping tips.

Next, let's add a cluster. This spread has clusters all over. I find that clusters help me ground embellishments so they don't feel like they're floating on the page. I often try to make my clusters using an odd number of embellishments. Something about it pleases my eye more than an even number of embellishments.

Finally, add some puffy heart stickers. I cannot get enough of the puffy heart stickers that often come in the Life Crafted kits! They come in such a wide variety of colors and sizes. On this spread, I used two hearts on the left side and one on the right. I used them to create a visual triangle (I'm using the triangle shape very liberally in this spread). Visual triangles are a great design technique to help the eye move around the page.

I hope my 3-to-Inspire has given you great inspiration for your next page. I can't wait to see what you make!

Life Crafted | Patricia

Hi, Everyone!!  Hopefully by now, everyone is enjoying their March kits!  I'm back on the blog today to share a couple of entries in my Life Crafted Album using the kit, stamps, and cut file!

My daughter took awhile to get into Harry Potter...just a little too scary for her.  We could only get to Chamber of Secrets.  But this past December we were able to watch all of the movies together as a family...now I'm hoping she will want to read the books I saved for her in hardcover!  I found these images by doing a Google search.  They are the DVD covers but they were small enough to print and fit into the new 2x2 page protectors!

All I added to them was the gold puffy alphas from the kit to the outside of the page protector, numbering each story in the series!  I knew I wanted the Currently screen cut file to be a focal point to break up the photos of the series and journaling.  I went with grey to help blend in with the photos, and then added repetitive stamping with the new Weekend Life stamp set!  To add just a bit of color, I added a cluster of kit contents to the screen cut file.

My journaling page peeks through the screen.  I picked this pattern paper from the kit for two reasons, the color was a little more of a contrast but not too much, and the houses!!  I loved those images also on the Weekend Life stamp set.  Perfect to document these movie nights we had in December.  I used the Weekend Life stamp to stamp the tabs, then used the puffy gold alphas for the main three characters.  I used the stamp from the Weekender kit to add to each tabbed image.

I didn't want this page to be too heavy with the heavy colors from the photos and the grey screen cut file.   I used a chipboard from the kit over Harry, and then used the digital files labels to type my journaling on the computer and print, so they would be small enough.

Staggered the journaling in between the stamping clusters.

So happy to have this documented in my Life Crafted album...my next Life Crafted project uses the March kit that was on Social Media earlier in the month on the 3rd showing how this came together.  But wanted to show the photos of the project here as well.

I focused a lot again on the Weekend Life stamp set and the March Traveler's Notebook stamp set.  Using the stamps and the kit die cuts and embellishments, I created a fun layered tab look at the bottom, and the post-it notes above it, filling in with stamping and embellishments.

Always a fan of the 3x8 cards in the kit, so used it as a divider.  The saying went perfectly with my selfie!  I just added stamping, die cuts, and puffy stickers to it on the front.

On the back of it, I added a die cut and chipboard.

For the page under it, I added more of the stamping, die cuts, chipboard, puffy hearts, to create a grid above my photo.

You can see the step by step of how this came together here on Instagram in my Tutorials.  Thank you so much for stopping by, and love what I am seeing in our Facebook group!
