Life Crafted Double Spread with Angela

Hi friends! It's Angela back on the blog. I am so exited to share with you my very first September project using The Best Parts Life Crafted and September Add-on kits.
I have almost finished documenting this summer and my Peony album is quite chunky. Soon, I'll start a new one but before that, I still have a few photos I would like to include in it.
My today pages are focusing on my two sons, their cheerfulness where during the holidays and how different they are now that the school has started. I made two layouts, one for each son.

For both the layout I used digital files. In particular, I used number 5 and 8 of the TN basics. In Photoshop, I overlaid the photos to the TN pages and I printed on photo paper.
I decorated the with some physical pieces and stamps, adding a bit of texture with stitching and staples.

I also stamped a title for each son's page, using the Good Life stamp set. I stamped and heat embossed in black on a label in both the spread. The label where big enough to accommodate the big font sentiments of the stamps and come from the Add-on September kit. They have different shapes and colors and perfectly matches with the paper I chose for the spread, the City Grid from Old School collection by Heidi Swapp.

On the second page I added a sentiment in the grid space of the page, using the GORGEOUS Soft Mint Citrus Twist Puffy Alpha Stickers (sorry for the capital letter but I really love those one) . The soft mint is a new color available in the Citrus Twist shop and is in place of the Yellow/Orange Alpha Stickers of the original kit. So sorry for the inconvenience, and the changes! Nevertheless, I love it!

Underneath the alpha puffy stickers I added a phrase from The Best Parts Life Crafted stamp. I stamped it with black inch on a white strip of card-stock and adhered it with foam adhesive.

Above is a close-up of another stitched embellishment. One of the pages is interactive. The photo is folded so to hidden itself and reveals only the embellished band of the side.

To make the folded page fitting inside the page protector, I changed the page protector opening side. From Page Protector #1, I cut away the side closure and sealed the top with my fuse tool.

Here is how the double spread appears in my Peony album. It opens with Filippo and digital TN page #5

Turning the page, on the back of the colorful page, I stamped another phrase from Good Life stamp and wrote the journaling using my computer.
Beside is the interactive page inserted into the page protector. When the flap is closed, only the side bar of the page is visible.

Opening the flap, the full photo of my son Francesco appears!

That's all for today, my friends. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog. I hope you enjoyed the pages and most of all you feel inspired to create with Citrus Twist Kit kits.
See you soon. XO

LIFE CRAFTED with Nathalie

Hello there!
Nathalie with you today to share a new Life Crafted layout.   This month's THE BEST PARTS kit is probably one that i am enjoying so much, and will be coming back to.  You might wonder how i will be able to return to it, well the answer is: Digital Files and Stamps.

The inspiration for this page was the matching PL card and tag (cut apart elements).  I love the colors and the watercolor feel of the page.  So, using Photoshop, i enlarged them to fit the  page of a Life Crafted album.  I chose to add my story to the bottom half of the PL card, and i wrote ( made mistakes writing, too!) and printed it on white cardstock.

Once printed, i used the empty top space to add my sentiment using This is Life: Good Times stamp and TRUE LIFE 6x8 stamp set with black ink.   The little branches were added to match the look of the tag.

Using Photoshop, i enlarged the tag to fit into a page for the Life Crafted album.  Once i erased the circle from the top of the card, i went ahead and added the "Beautiful" digital ephemera die cut.  I printed this on vellum making sure to leave about half an inch on the left of the print, so i can create the flap for the spread.

My selfie was enlarged to fit to the page, and all i added was one of the Digital tag at the bottom of the picture along with a puffy heart.

I love how this turned out!  Having the chance to use digital files allows me to size everything to fit the page, and add lots of story content.  Remember to check this month's Digital files.  You will extend the life of your kit and create personalized pages every time!

XO

Life Crafted with Marsha

Hey friends!  Marsha here today, and I'm sharing a Life Crafted layout using the beautiful September "The Best Parts" kit and Traveler's Notebook stamp.

When I received this month's kit, I was immediately drawn to the gorgeous florals!  I paired them with some other favorites from the kit to create a layout documenting a photo of me with my two sons.

Here's a look at the Life Crafted spread:

I started the layout by trimming a piece of woodgrain patterned paper and adhering it to a white cardstock background.  I always love a good woodgrain paper!  For the title, I layered a fabric ephemera piece over a script die cut.  To complete the title, I added the word "day" using the Soft Mint Puffy Alphabet Stickers (a new item in the CTK shop) to a label from the ephemera pack.  I did a bit of stamping below the label with the Traveler's Notebook stamp and black ink.

To complete the left side of the layout, I added a puffy heart sticker and layered a few of the beautiful floral die cuts onto the edge of the woodgrain patterned paper.

For the other side of the spread, I began with a white cardstock background.  I added my photo at the top of the page and layered it over a diagonal striped paper from the kit.  I used some of the ephemera die cuts, a puffy heart sticker, and an ampersand sticker from the Soft Mint Puffy Alphabet Stickers to embellish.

Below the photo, I layered several of the ephemera pieces and more of the floral die cuts.  I did a bit more stamping using the Traveler's Notebook stamp and black ink onto some of the ephemera pieces.

I hope you found some inspiration for using the September "The Best Parts" kit!  Life Crafted kits are designed to help you tell your stories in a beautiful way!  I will see you again soon!

Pocket Page Challenge with Shannon

Hey there, scrappy friends! Shannon here with another pocket page challenge. Pocket pages are my jam! I usually always have one in progress at my craft counter so I can spend a few minutes here and there working on it every day. On this page, I used the September THE BEST PARTS Life Crafted kit, the True Life stamp set, and the digital ephemera from the September kit.

You'll notice that I typed directly onto the photo of the step stool. I had so many emotions surrounding that stool and didn't want them left out of the spread. I like a good balance of journaling and decorative elements on my spreads so sometimes I'll add my journaling or short notes directly on the photo. Next to that, I used a green and white ledger card that came as 4x6 in the Life Crafted Kit. I wanted a card that was subtle in color because I already had two bold cards. I also wanted a subtle pattern so I could stamp on it. I used two stamps from the True Life stamp set to make the card say "happy shenanigans." It just so happens that shenanigans is one of my favorite words so I was just tickled when I saw this stamp set!

The journaling card I used in the bottom row of my page is great for writing out some thoughts - or for adding some words with alphas! While I do love some journaling, I also appreciate times when I can convey something with just a few simple words. Using the alphas on this card allowed me to have a lot of white space showing. Given the bold pink and blue cards, I really wanted to keep the other cards a little more subtle. And I just had to use the phrase from THE BEST PARTS Life Crafted kit stamp on the bottom of that card.

As you move around my page you'll notice that I stapled quite a few embellishments onto the cards and photos. This is my favorite way to add the fabric ephemera to the page. I also love the look that it adds!

Finally, I used all sorts of digital ephemera from the September kit on a digital journaling card. I removed the last line of the journaling card in Photoshop. Then, I added a note about each of my photos on the remaining lines. Finally, I added all sorts of ephemera at the bottom. I enjoy the digital ephemera because I can resize it to be whatever size I want it to be! I may have gone a little overboard with the layering for such a small journaling card but that's not unusual for me. I love the unique look that it brought to the card. The busyness of this card also played a role in me keeping the rest of the page fairly simple with little touches here and there.

I love that no matter how many pocket pages I make I can still find ways to make them fun and different. All it takes is a little trial and error! I can't wait to see what you create with all of the great September releases at Citrus Twist!

Life Crafted with Ashley Horton

Hi there friends!  I'm stopping in today to share a new layout with you, using the September The Best Parts Life Crafted Kit.  This is an amazing Kit and it is filled with my favorite colors...Pink, Teal and Yellow!  And, this month also has one of my favorite stamps sets that has been released...The Good Life stamp set!!  It's still available in the CTK store, so you can stop by and pick one up!!

Since I was so in love with The Good Life stamp, I decided to create my own patterned paper background with it.  I used ink pads that matched the colors in the Kit and stamped the larger phrases in a random pattern on white paper.  I made sure to stamp some of the phrases off of the edges of the paper to make it look like a patterned paper.

Once I had finished the stamping, I went through the ephemera pack and pulled out several of the flowers.  I used them to create a collage over the stamped paper.  I adhered some of them directly to the background paper and I used pop dots behind some of the others for dimension.  I also used the word Beautiful from the ephemera pack and the Alpha Puffy Stickers to create my title.

Since I had a lot of color on the left side of the layout, I decided to print my photo in black and white and made it full size.  I love the contrast it adds to the layout.  I kept things simple with the photo, by adding a few embellishments in the bottom corner and then I placed the numbers by each of the kids.  They were just the right finishing touch for my page!

Even though The Best Parts Kit is sold out, you can still get on the Waiting List for next month's Kit!  Make sure you sign up, if you've been wanting to be a subscriber.  The Kits are going fast each month, and you don't want to miss out!!
