Pocket Sketch Friday with Mira

Hello Everyone!

It's Mira here with Pocket Life Sketch Friday challenge! Today I have a very clean and simple pocket page to share, together with one simple sketch to follow. If You try to work with this sketch You will be able to achieve similar clean effects in Your albums! Wanna try it?

I've recently found out that I love having white, thick frames around my photos. It makes the album looks very clean and elegant. It also makes a lot of space for my favorite embellishments. This month I've been working with "Emerson" Pocket Life Kit together with Embellishment Kit. And here's what I prepared:

My pictures are still big enough to see what's in them, but I have a plenty of white space around them, what makes the whole layout very balanced.

I've been using the same frame thickness for a while, and now when I walk through the album it's very consistent. I love that simple effect!

Additionally, each month I create my own pocket cards using papers from Citrus Twist Kits PL Kits. They are  filled with a lot of white space, so the balance of the whole pages is always kept on the same level.

Have You ever tried this trick? It's easy, and the results can be really satisfying.

Now You can try this idea, and here's the sketch that can help You to achieve the desired effects:

If You happen to use this inspiration, remember that You have a chance to win a price!

Here's how: Create a layout based on the sketch, post your layout to our Gallery or our Facebook Fan Page by Friday, November 18th and be sure to include PL 11/18 in the title!

Thanks for visiting Pocket Life Friday!

Pocket Life Sketch Friday with Tara

Hello, Friday how I have missed you! It's Tara here and time for your weekly PL sketch challenge. Join in the challenge and earn your chance to win some happy mail from Citrus Twist Kits (read all the way through)!

This week I have two sketches for you. I am smitten with July's PL Driftwood kit. It is filled with so many wonderful bits and bobs that I used just this kit for my spread:

I wanted to capture some memories from June 2012. It's so fun to go back in time and create flashback spreads. My boys really enjoy looking through photos and seeing where they were in their younger years.

Here are some close ups. I loved Paige Evans' Fancy Free patterned paper in the kit along with the amazing cut outs from Cocoa Vanilla. I used some roller stamps in my stash to add more fun words.

I couldn't get enough of the cut outs and this month's selection of journaling cards. They worked so well together to add a little finishing touch.

This blue journaling card serves as my title card and month marker. I'm trying out adding more titles in as well as an easy way to see the transition month to month. I used the same roller stamp to add a bit of interest on the photo.

I need more of these exclusive acrylic words!!! I love adding a little more layering by adhering things to the outside of the pocket. It was a little tricky at first, I applied too much glue and then I put the glue on the wrong side! Third time was the charm for me :).

Here are your sketches:

Friday Pocket Life Sketch March17

Hello and Happy St. Patricks Day everyone! Most of the people I know are downtown enjoying the parade a festivities, but I am right where I want to be.. in my studio surrounded by all of my scrapbook goodies!

So today I want to share the sketch I created for the March Sonoma Pocket Life kit. You'll often find pockets with overlapping photos or embellishments on my pages. I like to be creative with the placement of things and I don't let the pockets stand in the way of that.

Here's my sketch. My apologies that it's hand drawn. I know it looks a bit silly.

Here is the translation to layout form.

Lots of dainty embellishing here and there so as not to overwhelm the photos. Here's a look at the full weeks spread.

and a close up of the left side as well..

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you're on the right side of the pinching today!

Every week we share PL sketches and a chance to win. For your chance to win, create a layout based on the sketches in this blog post, post your layout to our Gallery or our Facebook Fan Page by Friday, March 26, 2016. Be sure to include PL 03/18 in your title when posting!

Sketch Friday - Pocket Life Kit

Good Morning! This is Melissa here today with you on the blog and I have a bunch of new pocket pages to show you using the September Pocket Life kit and three sketches based off some of my pages.

These pages are the last ones to finish off the month of June. This also completely filled up my first 9x12 album. I will be starting a new album for the months of July-December. There were so many good pieces to this September kit! I loved the stamp set this month for starters - I will be getting a lot of use out of that set :-) I also loved the Crate Paper stickers and the 3x4 Citrus Twist journaling cards this month.

Here are the sketches based off my pages!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! Happy Friday :-)

Pocket Life Sketch Friday

Happy Friday! It's Tara here for our weekly installment of Pocket Life Friday. I have once again fallen head over heels in love with our August PL Kit, which has sold out, and our super affordable Sprinkles kit. Don't forget to read for details on our weekly giveaway associated with today's sketches at the end of the post.

We went on our first camping trip since moving abroad to England in July and had so much fun! The first layout shows how beautiful the lake was and how much we enjoyed our time in the sunshine!
I added in a Freckled Fawn wood veneer from my stash and my DIY enamel dot to the 4x6 PL card. I loved the Seven Baxter patterned paper from this month's kit so much! I also really love using stamps and used a few that we offered from current and past kits.

This next 6x8 mini layout was taken before I added in the journaling. My son ended up with an unexpected and accidental fat lip on our camping trip. He wanted to see the swelling for himself and how well the medication was working so we provided a few photos for him to see. He loves cats so much and the little wood chip cat had the perfect face for this memory. I used some alphas from past kits to add a pop of color and some hints of the patterned paper. The little pink word sticker was just the perfect touch to make it look like I added a tag or label.

And now time for the sketches.
Here are the 2 3x4 cards and a 4x6 card. I really focused more on the photos this time with a few hints of patterned paper, embellishments, and stamps.

And here is the 6x8 mini layout sketch:

I hope these sketches can help spark your creativity to get to it this weekend and document those memories!

For your chance to win some happy mail, create a layout based on the sketches in this blog post. Then post your layout to our Gallery or on our Facebook Fan Page by Friday, August 28th and label it PL 8/21. The winner will be announced here on the blog later this month.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!
Xxo, Tara
