In My Studio with Elizabeth

Hello there everyone. I'm here today to share a little peek into my Scrapbook Studio. It's the room in my house that was originally intended for formal dining. I much prefer scrapping to that. ha! Sometimes I feel like it would be nice to have some doors so I could keep out the pup and kids (note cars under the desk.. there are always some toys left behind for me..) But in the end I think it's actually cool that it's in a fairly open space that's central to most of the comings and goings of the house.

Anyone know what time it is? You probably notice I have a thing for clocks. I just like the way they look scattered across the wall. They are all set for 10:10, that way they're always smiling at me.

The dresser against the wall houses tons of my supplies. Cardstock, paper pads, embellishments, wood veneer, stickers, etc. I like that I can just turn around and open a drawer for anything I need.

When my Citrus Twist kit arrives (best day EVER) I put all of the contents in my favorite tray. This way I assure that all the elements stay together and are easy to see while I'm creating.

Here's my favorite little visual. 100% decoration only. Makes me smile.

I keep some of my items in little baskets around the room. They're stored away on carts or shelves. Love, love the eye candy around my space.

Here's a look at the messier side of things.. I try to keep most of the elements organized by type... here we have fancy ribbons, tags, and xl letters. It makes projects come together fairly quickly when I know exactly what kind of element the page needs and can find it easily.

Here's a look at my pocket life storage.

Punches all together...

So there is a look at my scrappy space. Thanks for peeking in! These are my favorite kinds of posts, so I hope you enjoyed mine.

and a look at the page I was finishing up when I took the photos, just for fun..

Pocket Life kit for traditional pages

Hello there, everyone. I hope you're having a stellar summer. Seems to be flying by, right? Today I am here to share how I've used the July Pocket Life kit to create not one, but two traditional layouts. One thing I love about these kits is that they are so versatile. I'm often using the Scrapbook kits to create pocket pages... and the Pocket Life kits to create full layouts. I'm basically winning, no matter what ends up in my mailbox.

I set aside this 6x6 rainbow patterned paper the moment I opened my kit. I just knew I had to showcase it on a traditional page. I cut it into some arrow-like shapes and the rest of the page just sort of came together around that. (Ps- how great is that stamp?)

Kinda digging the look of this blown out photo and the way the filter matches the paper.

Here is another 6x6 sheet that begged for a full 12x12 treatment. It's shiny and gold, and I absolutely love it. Before adhering it to the cardstock background I bent and folded it so it would have a bit of texture.

Just a few quick embellies, a title and, boom, layout done.

Have you ever used one kit to create another kind of scrapbook project? I'm telling you, these kits can do anything your creative little heart desires. Pretty great, right?

July Pocket Life Sketch

Elizabeth here today to share my latest PL sketch with you. I apologize for the quality of this.. I actually do "sketch" my sketches when creating, so this is pretty true to me! This month I wanted to challenge you to use several smaller photos on your spread. I love the trick of continuing the photos across the span of pockets. Such a unique look and way to include lots of photos for those busier weeks.

and here is the sketch translated into actual scrapping..

here is the page's counterpart...

and the entire spread..

You've probably noticed by now that I am a big fan of the small photos! Thanks for stopping by today. I can't wait to see what you all make using my very sketchy sketch. Aren't these July kits just to die for?!

Every Last Bit

If you've seen any of my posts you may have noticed that I pride myself on using up every last bit of these glorious kits. Today I'm going to show you how with my last layout of the month. I actually created 5 layouts plus a tag mini album this time. All of those and I only used the Main Scrapbook and Embellishment kits. Isn't that something? So here we go... here is the last one using bits and pieces leftover from the other pages.

This is all of the items I had left to work with..

I started by choosing a background paper and began plotting the design...

Then splattered some ink and wrote out the journaling in pencil. This way I would be sure to get the placement of the word stickers right and fill the entire space, design-wise...

Now I can start to adhere some of the elements. If I'm out of the actual letters I need, I will go ahead and cut out the negatives and use those. I kinda love the way that looks for a title... the mix of letters and their outlines in the same words...

Headed towards the home stretch with inking in my journaling and then sewing the lines. The addition of thread makes such a difference to pages visually, in my opinion. It sort of polishes them..

That's it! All you have to do is add some embellishments and call it good. At this point I usually try to think of a fun way to use an element that I've never used it before... in this instance it's putting the "+" stickers in the grid as a sort of border.

Now all I have left of the kit goodness is a handful of scraps and a couple of stickers. Those I will put to good use on my next Project Life spread. Have you ever tried using every last little bit and piece of your kit? How did it turn out?

Sunday Sketch with Elizabeth

Hello there my friends! Elizabeth here to share my take on the Sunday Sketch.

It's always fun to get a little creative with the sketch elements. I took some liberties with the stars and paper edges. I can't wait to see what you all create using this lovely sketch!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a scraptacular Sunday.
