3-to-Inspire with Desiree

Hi there!  It’s Desiree here to join you this Saturday.  If you’re looking for some crafty inspiration, I invite you to try this week’s 3-to-Inspire challenge.  I’ll be working in my life crafted album.

I knew I definitely wanted to include certain items in my layout.  I had already pictured floral edged pages and stamped words.

So this week’s selections are:

  1.  florals

  2. alpha stamps

  3. cut files

For this project, I wanted to do a regular layout in my life crafted album.  I started with a simple patterned piece of pink cardstock paper and graph paper.  I like using graph and grid sheets as my base pages because they are easy to build on.

The next thing I did is build my floral layer on the graph page with florals from the Citrus Twist Life Crafted Floral Ephemera pack and the Citrus Twist Hearts & Such Ephemera pack.  With all the lovely color florals to choose from, I stacked my florals starting with the biggest on the bottom, leading up to the smallest, and adhered them to my page.

Then, I used the Citrus Twist Chloe Alpha and Number stamp to make a fun list.  I took this opportunity to stamp out all the beautiful qualities of my daughter.  I love that this alpha stamp set comes with uppercase alphas, lowercase alphas, and numbers all in one, it is just so convenient.

For the cut files, I had a little fun. I used the white floral cut file that is layered under my picture from January’s cut files in the Citrus Twist Kits digital shop.  I layered the cut file under my photo, then cut off the overhang to the shape of the page.

I also included the love and hearts from February's cut files in the Citrus Twist Kits digital shop.  I really wanted to use the fun speech bubble with the heart inside at the top of my page, but it would not fit.  So  I cut the heart from inside the speech bubble and topped my page with it.  I used the "love" part of the cut file as part of my title “love you”.

To complete my clusters on each page, I used the wood veneers hearts from the Citrus Twist Heartbeats Vol. 2, Ltd Wood Veneer Hearts. Of course, I used the Citrus Twist January 2021 Puffy Hearts.  All the sizes and colors make them so easy to use.

I hope you give this a try and have a little creative fun. Happy Saturday!

XO, Desiree

Sunday Sketch with Lory

Hey there friends! How are you?

Happy Sunday! It's Lory here today to share with you my take for one of the beautiful sketches from Citrus Twist! When I saw at it it was love at the first time! You know I love the sketches because they give me ideas when the creative flow is down or when sometimes I don't feel so much inspired.

I have used all the beautiful journaling cards from the past Citrus Twist kits and I added the amazing ephemera from the new products collections!

Before starting to decorate my page and filling it with many little meaningful details I have create a soft watercolor background with many different shadows of green using  neocolors and gelatos and I was in love with the final result. I am not a fan of strong mixed media so this kind of color makes me feel happy enough :)

Then I fussy cut some flowers from a past scrapbooking add on, I added some digitals and exposy dots.  At last the stamps, I am completely and deeply in love with all the kinds of stamps from Citrus Twist, those little phrases and words are perfect to me! I love the tiny details to add meanings to my pages.

What do you think? Hope you  will be inspired from my page to create yours. Creativity is what makes me feel happy and for you?

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Love, Lory

Life Crafted and cut files with Nathalie

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today with a few ideas on how to combine the fabulous EXPLORE Life Crafted kit with this month's digital cut files.  One of the perks of subscribing to Citrus Twist Kits is that you receive digital subscribers only  cut files and additional PL cards that will stretch your kit.   I pulled a few of these files and created a few entries in my albums:

Let's start with a simple idea on using the cut file to create title PL card.

I cut the "Find Joy Everyday" cut file to create the 4x6 title card in this layout.  The cut file was sized to fit inside a 4"x6" card and cut from white cardstock.  It then was glued to a piece of the Explore kit papers  cut to fit inside  Insert 3 configuration.

I added a few embellishments using pieces from the add on.  The journaling spot was created using digital files and embellished with puffy stickers and some stamped sentiments from the Traveler's Notebook stamp set.

I used a tag  (available in the CTK shop) to add my picture.   A small cluster  was then added using a combination of pieces from both the Explore kit, cut apart elements and Pinkfresh Studio embellishments (available at the CTK shop).

Each month there are new cut files added to the subscriber's perks, and the new BeYouTiful was one that i wanted to use to create the title page for this layout.

The cut file was sized to fit the width of the Life Crafted page, cut from white cardstock and then backed with papers from the Explore LC kit.   I used the woodgrain paper as the background for the page, so that all the colors and butterflies will pop from the page.

The collage  of photos of my girlies fits the 4"x6" space from Insert 3, so all that was left to do was create the journal spot.  This was easy to do by combining pieces from the PL cards, cardstock and puffy stickers and some of the cut outs.  The following video will show you how it was put together:

If you are a subscriber remember to check the Digital tabs to get all this month's cut files.  You can also purchase some of the cut file designs in the CTK digital shop, but consider subscribing to CTK  -our subscribers receive a few perks each month-.

That is all for me today.  If you have questions on how these came together, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Til next time,

Life Crafted with Nathalie

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today! By now you all have seen this month's "MAKE IT A VENTI" Life Crafted kit.   I think we  are all in awe at what Trina is putting together for the kits each month, truly gorgeous patterns, colors and ideas that make putting together a layout super easy and fast.

It all started with one of this month's exclusive cut files.   I used the small screen version of it to cut two of them  with the same dimension but as mirror images of each other,so  that i can sandwich patterned paper in between both sides of the page.

For the first layout, i used the heart screen as the background for my picture.   Since i was backing the cut file,  i chose to print the Digital TN papers so that i can have the same pattern for both sides of the page -having the option to print my own papers on demand helps to stretch the kits and personalize them, so check out the digital files available in the store-.

The picture of both my Goddaughters  was backed with the one of the Make It a Venti kit's papers and set on the heart background.   I added a few of the cut apart elements to the picture to create a cluster, and then brought a few stickers from last month's Life Chapters kit to add sentiments to each cluster.   I added my lines of journal at the bottom of this page.

To complement this page, i used the b side of a previous 3x8 insert to  add a few of the kit's PL cards and house my title in one of them.  For this, i printed the flower frame PL card and fussy cut the floral image.  This was then glued to the top of the card, the empty space left was the perfect spot to add my title using the mini rose gold alpha stickers from the kit.    The bottom card was  used as a filler card,  but was the perfect complement on color and sentiment for my layout.

Remember i mentioned that i cut two mirror image cut outs of the heart screen, and sandwich patterned paper in between them; well here is the b-side of the layout.  This time i went for a simpler approach in this page.

This time, I am using the cut out as a complement to my picture and not the background. So, i decided to add my title to this page using a combination of the ephemera and Puffy Alpha stickers from the Make It a Venti kit.   The word sticker and chipboard heart are pieces from past kits that complement this page.

I used one of the TN digital papers as the background for my picture.   This time, a paper from the kit was used as a layer behind the picture,  To repeat the colors in the title, labels and stickers from the cut apart sheet and previous kits were used.  I cut one of this month's PL cards to create my journaling spot and sentiment under the picture, and then finished  this spread by adding a few stamped sentiments using one of the add-on stamp sets.  The following video will show you  how it all came together:

The new "Make It A Venti" Life Crafted kit is sure to be one of my most favorites to date.   Plus having the option of printing my own papers and PL cards on demand make it so much more lasting, so check out these option son the digital CTK shop.

Remember that you can always contact me with any questions on how this was put together. I cannot wait to see what you all create.

XO

Pocket Life Challenge: From Scratch!

Hey Everyone! This is Jennie with today's Pocket Life Challenge! IT'S NOVEMBER! Yikes! How did that happen?! If you are planning a major catch up make sure you check out the rest of the challenges this month. They can be a great way to get inspired!

My Challenge for this month is to create a filler card from scratch! I used the 6x8 papers to create 2 of the cards. If you are a simple scrapper you can start with just cutting a 3x4 card and adding one of the bigger die cuts from the ephemera pack.

I love to use the little bits of the ephemera pack on my photos. I also make extra tiny bits using heart dies and the 6x8 paper from the kit. I love the super cute colors of this month!

The puffy alphas of the November Pocket Life Kit are so perfect. And they have numbers! Yay! I kept my title card super simple because I liked the design from the 4x6 card and I din't want to alter it too much. Next to it I have a card with a little journaling about a drawing my daughter made.

Here you can really see the two filler cards I made. On the first card, I used the black and white stripes paper. I used the 3x4 stamp set that comes in the Pocket Life Kit to stamp all over the paper. The lines made it so easy. Then I layered die cuts, puffy stickers and the cork. You don't have to add everything and the kitchen sink like I do. If you want to go super simple I recommend using the rules of threes and try to vary the size of the items. On the second card, I used a circle stitched die to add a layer to the card instead of adding the circle on top. This creates an illusion of depth. This cat die is the cutest!

The 3x4 stamp is perfect if you've been wanting to stamp on your photos. They are small and they stamp perfectly. I stamped using Brilliance White on the grass and with Back StazOn on the photos of my daughters. I also did a little ghost stamping.

I love the ephemera die cut pack! Besides being super cute they always have labels (a must for stamping dates on a  title card) and little words which I love to put on photos.
I hope you enjoyed these pages! I like to share some of my filler and title cards on Instagram if you want to check them I'm @jenniegarcian over there.

Embellishment only layout with Veera

Hi, It’s Veera here today to share a layout I created using only embellishments. I love pattern papers but I might love embellishments even more. The January kits are full of embellishments as always and this time I wanted to feature them! For this layout I used the ”Jameson” Scrapbook kit and Sprikles Kit.

Majority of the embellishments in this layout came from the exclusive ephemera pack. I really love the color combination of yellow and mint. The colors work so well with my picture. As I didn’t want to use any pattern papers I tried to create a design that has interest and flows through the layout. The little triangles were a perfect addition to help creating movement to the layout.

My favorite item from the Sprinkles kit was clearly the Nuvo Jewel Drops! I added the drops directly to the layout and left to dry. Such a cool and easy way to make little embellishments!

Have you tried to create layout using only embellishments?
