Open Post | October pocket pages spread with Lory

Hey there! How are you friends? It's a very strange period all over the world and I think that never like now creativity is our best and stronger weapon! Creativity keeps our mind healthy and same and this is so important! Especially during hard times! It's my way to download  stress, worries, and to drive down bad thoughts. Are you agree?

I have finally received my new Life Crafted albums and I couldn't wait to use the new page protectors! I am a fan of insta images and it was a lot I wanted to use one of it.  Why do I love pocket pages, Life crated album so deeply! Because this kind of creativity, storytelling has stole my heart! It's a way to feel better and to put outside what I have inside me. I often love to write, to tell something about me, my current feelings, my current mood. Small vittoriese are the best! They are the greatest one step at a time! Slowly but constantly!

So I told this little but so meaningful stories and I repeat to myself "don't  give up"!

To tell my story I have used the lovely October kit Flourish together the September kit The best part. I created my own embellishments with the fabulous READY FOR THIS stamps and stitching each comic strip to the background paper. I have added a phrase that reminds me to not give up, to embrace imperfection, to grow and bloom!

Love the final result. Then I added a piece of paper from the july scrapbook add on kit. That phrase was perfect for this story.  In the end just added my computer journaling in a 3x4 journaling card and than a quote card perfect to me! Less Rush more Life! So meaningful!

What do you think? With the amazing Citrus Twist stamps you can create gorgeous embellishments! I can't finish to tell my stories without the use of a stamp! Love them all to pieces!

Thank you so much for watching and can 't wait to see how you use these so adorable page protectors. Hope to inspire you.

Have a great day.

Love, Lory

Pocket Page Challenge with Erica

Hello crafty friends! Today I am sharing a weekly Project Life spread for the Pocket Page Challenge using the gorgeous October Flourish kit.

I used this week to document a fun weekend of gardening and some crazy weather that impacted the whole city. I love the fact that this blue quote card matched my sweater! And who doesn't love a before and after photo?

On my title card I used some of the leftover plant labels that I stamped for a previous layout (using the Ready For This stamp and Italic Alpha Stamp). I chose a hot pink ink to match the colour in the kit and I love how bold it is! It goes perfectly with the teal alphas in the kit.

I used the Digital Journal Cards to type my journaling this week, and added some numbers to create bullet points. This makes it a lot easier for me to get the words out. I also remembered to take a screenshot of a news article at the time so I could be reminded of the chaos it caused. A tiny word sticker and a cute monkey icon were all it took to jazz it up.

It's very rare that I have two journaling spots on my spreads but this 'currently' card was my favourite thing in the kit. I used the digital version again to add my typing. And to finish off my spread I added a healthy sprinkling of enamel dots to several cards.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today. See you next time!

More with our Guest Designer - Ashley Rodgers

Hi there!

We are so excited to welcome Ashley to our blog with a new beautiful project featuring our Flourish kit...

Hello! It’s Ashley back again with a layout in my Life Crafted album. With Fall finally in full swing, I was inspired to document the leaves changing colors where I live.

On the left is a photo I snapped while walking around my neighborhood. On the right is a transparency I created using one of the Fall digital cut files, and my journaling is underneath it. I just love the look of a full-sized photo, and the TN page from the basics digital collection balances it out well.

I had a lot of fun playing with the digital cut files this month. Here, I used a leaf from one of the Fall cut files to make a repeated pattern on transparency. First, I isolated the leaf image and repeated it multiple times while alternating the direction of it. Then, I re-colored the leaves green, orange, and red to represent the way the leaves change in the Fall. Finally, I printed the pattern on a transparency sheet and cut it down to fit in the album.

When using a basic Inkjet printer, I recommend changing the printer settings from plain paper to glossy/transparency film. Also, printing a fast draft will reduce the output of ink and prevent smudging.

The great thing about digital files is that they can be used over and over again. I’ve been using this TN basics page throughout my album to make it more cohesive.

I typed all my journaling in the center of the page and left some room for embellishments before printing it out. For the title, I stamped the word “change” on a label from the kit and popped it up with foam tape to add some dimension.

At the bottom, I numbered the page with a puffy sticker and stamped one of the sentiments from the October 2020 Life Crafted Traveler’s Notebook stamp set to sum up my journaling. I then layered a die-cut underneath another puffy sticker to finish the page.

Thank you all for joining me today! I hope you found a bit of inspiration, and I can’t wait to share more projects with you in November.

We love Ashley's soft and delicate Life Crafted layouts, and have asked her to join us throughout November, so she can continue inspiring you with her designs.  You can see more of her work on Instagram...  https://www.instagram.com/sweetashleyann/

Sunday Sketch Challenge with Angela

Hello Citrus Twist friends!
It's Angela back on the blog with a new layout for this week Sunday Sketch challenge. Here is the sketch I played with

and this is my version in traditional 12 inch size

Angela_Tombari_Citrus_Twist_Kits_Oct25_01

For making the page I mainly used October Add-on kit. The first thing I chose was the paper for the background. I went for Very Dear paper from Marigold collection by Crate Paper. I am a big fan of woodgrain designs.

Like in the sketch, I chose a big flower for my focal point beside the photo and I created a cluster of tiny embellishments all around it. Labels, stcikers, enamel dots and puffy stickers are all from Flourish Life Crafted Kit

Between the two photos I added a ribbon that was in the Add-on kit and I sewed it directly to the paper.
The two photo are sticked on a pile of papers, included the beautiful old book papers included in the kit.

As you can see, comparing to the original sketch, I moved things around but kept pretty similar the top. I sewed a strip of patterned paper along the top border. Right below, on the left corner, I added a couple of hearts and enamel dots and I stamped a few words from Flourish Life Crafted stamp.

The title is in the same spot, beside the lower photo. Here too, I added a few enamel dots, hearts and a sentiment stamped in black.

The journaling is approximately in the same position than the sketch but hidden in a slit I cut on the paper. I wrote the journaling on a die cut card from Marigold ephemera pack. To hold the card, I created a little pocket on the revers side of the paper.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you liked the page but most of all, I hope you feel inspired to create with Citrus Twist kits. If you'd like to partecipate to the challenge, please share your projects on the Facebook Citrus Twist Fan Page. We would love to see your beautiful pages!

3 - to - inspire with Loredana Bucaria

Hello everyone, it's Lory here with a new post for the series "3 to inspire". I have loved to create a challenge just for you to inspire and to give you some fresh ideas to document your everyday stories.

I want to say that as always I am deeply in love with Citrus Twist kits, they are so well mixed and full of exclusive products and cute details to help you to document your everyday life! October kits are full of colors, meaningful details to give accents to your stories, amazing embellishments and adorable journaling cards!

My idea for this spread and this story was to create little handmade pockets to fill with meaningful details, journaling cards, tag, pictures leftovers. So what I did? I just cut three pieces of three different patterned papers and folade them on three sides, 1,5 cm on the left and the right sides and 1,5 cm to the bottom. The bottom envelope is attached to the background paper. Then the other two pockets are just one inside the other.  Just be sure that the with of the pocket has to be a little less than the with of the background paper so less than 4 inches.

The other point was I wanted to use a full page photo of my boys in black and white to give you more result to the beautiful pockets colors!  Then I finished everything with stamps, ephemera and little pink phrase stickers.

So here the challenge for you :P

  • use a full page picture in your spread in black and white or colors.
  • create a pocket to hold your journaling or photos
  • add two or three tags to give dynamism to your storytelling
Well, hope you like my spread and you will be inspired to create yours. I would like to see a lot of stories told creatively!

Love, Lory

Hybrid Life Crafted with Patricia

Hi Everyone!  I have a Life Crafted spread using one of the TN Page Basics Collection and a few of the die cuts I printed and fussy cut, as well as one of the Cut files to share today.

I did a little more fussy cutting with the pattern paper from the kit to layer over my digitally printed and trimmed page.

I used part of the pink stickers from the kit to matte my photo!  Try it, it is such an awesome look.  Then I just added a little bit of stamping and embellishments to finish.

For the right side, I used Kraft cardstock and cut out the Fall divider, and backed the letters with pattern paper from the kit.  The inside decorative part of the letters cuts all the way out, but I foam adhered them back, trimming adhesive to fit the letters.  Added the same stamping I did on the left, and more fussy cut flowers from pattern paper.

This right side with two pockets is completely digital and cut out, except for the top blue card.

I used the top tag for journaling, and added a cluster of another photo, fussy cut digitals, stamping, and a puffy heart.  I love that this is Halloween themed, but not overly themey!

I have one more Life Crafted project to share with a step by step that was posted on Instagram earlier this month using the Fall Cut file, both parts!

The stamps and kit are amazing as always.  And that pattern paper scattered throughout really brings this project together.

I love the aqua with the little pops of yellow.  I made sure to use the card and pattern paper with the same hearts to bring more cohesion.

And CTK always has amazing neutral pattern papers, that helps on this last page with an additional photo.

Amazing the detail you can add to your journaling and cards with the stamps!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you share your projects with us in the Facebook group or on Instagram!
