Sunday Sketch with Lilith

Hello there everyone. Today is Sunday which means a new sketch. Once again I had a sketch with several photos which I tend to have a hard time with. I opted to use a couple of Snapchat pics of me made when I was in a silly mood. I thought they'd be perfect for the sketch.

I stuck to the outline of the layout but interpreted it a little  more freely. If I have a hard time with a sketch I tend to let go of certain elements so that I can create something I like. I decided not to add the scalloped circles on the left and right hand sides of the layout. Here is my interpretation:

To play along this week, create a layout inspired by the sketch and upload it to the CTK gallery with today's date (12/18) in the title and you will be in with a chance to win a $5 gift certificate to spend in the CTK store
Happy Scrapping.

3-To-Inspire with Emma

Hi everyone!  Emma here with another 3-To-Inspire challenge (my favourite!).

This week I'm going to buck the norm and make the focus of my challenge to a double-page layout!  Double-page layouts seem to be a rarity these days and I for one, would love to see more of them.  I find they're a perfect match when you want to go with a large photo or multiple photo's.

I hope you'll join in with me this week using the following prompts:

1. Make it a double-page spread
2. Add an interactive element
3. Use mixed alpha
Extra bonus - Incorporate a large photo (think something bigger than 6x4).

And here's a look at the page/s I created!

I went with a big photo on the LHS and added my journaling on the RHS.

And for my "interactive" element I went with a vellum overlay on my photo (vellum from my stash) and added my title on top.

For my title I used the puffy alpha stickers from the November Pocket Life kit (love the colour!!) and the optional copper stickers that were with the Main kit.  I am loving all the pops of copper at the moment!  Or maybe it's just the sparkles...I do love sparkles :)

Now it's your turn! Use the three prompts to create your own projects and share them with us here in the gallery and/or our Facebook Forum.  I really can't wait to see your pages!

Thanks, Em xo

Sunday Sketch with Suse

Hey gang! Suse Fish with you today for our Sunday Sketch challenge. Let's head straight to the sketch...

It's a fab one, isn't it? I loved the challenge of using three identically-sized shots on one page. I'm normally a 'one square photo per page'-girl, so to use three made for a completely different look for me.

I used the opportunity to make a page about our kittens: I have oodles of photos of them doing cute, wonderful things, so to use three on one page really helped tell their story.

I couldn't resist making my photo 'stack' slightly quirky though... I can never have things too lined up and neat!

I just adore these Amy Tangerine words, don't you? They make the most gorgeous titles, especially against a pretty, lightly patterned background. I couldn't choose between 'crazy' and 'beautiful' as the kittens are very much both, so I decided to combine both words!

To play along with this week's challenge, create a layout inspired by the sketch, upload it to the Citrus Twist Kits Gallery with today's date (11/20) in the title, and you might win a $5 gift certificate to the CTK Store. Have lots of fun!

3 to Inspire with Veera

It's time for our weekly 3 to Inspire challenge! This week I'm challenging you to

  1. Use cork embellishment
  2. Use word/phrase stickers
  3. Hide your journaling
Here is what I came up with using these prompts:

Once again the Citrus Twist Kits exclusive paper was one of my favorites from this month's kit. I decided to use this beautiful woodgrain pattern as my background. I tucked my journaling in a glassine bag and embellished the layout with cork and word stickers. And the topic, our cute little puppy!

Now its your turn!  Use the three prompts to create your own projects and share them with us in the CTK Gallery and/or on our Facebook Fan Page for a chance to win. Don't forget to add today's date in your title.
You can also upload to Instagram and tag us @citrustwistkits.

Tuesday Tutorial with Suse

Hi gang! Welcome to this week's Tuesday Tutorial. Today I'm going to show you how to make a dimensional framed layout that would make a lovely Christmas present using the gorgeous November Emerson kit.

Once I'd bought my box frame (mine was £3.50 from Ikea) I started by finding a photo of Nanny's boy and her Granddaughter.

I loved this shot of them both laughing and knew the 'smiles' title from the Amy Tangerine 'Oh Happy Life' Wild set would work beautifully with it.

I picked out papers that I knew would look pretty in Nanny's house: she loves gentle tones, so this peachy-coloured heart paper (Magical from the Gather collection by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper) was perfect.

The thing I love about working with black and white photos is, you can go in pretty much any direction when it comes to paper choices!

Next, I added a little background interest and movement with white acrylic paint and some gold splatters.

I love the exclusive stamp sets that come with each kit: they always seem to contain just the right phrases to really add that extra something to my projects.

Once I'd stuck my main cluster into place, it was time for my favourite bit: embellishing! And of course, with a frame this deep, I could really go to town with the foam pads.

I stuck to a gentle palette of peach and gold, with tiny pops of teal and black, aiming for a nice classy result.

A fun after-thought was adding a few extra embellishments to the glass itself. I love the super-dimensional look it gives!

I'm so happy with the result: a beautifully original present for not many pennies, but a whole lot of heart!

Beauty | Gina Rodgers

Hi everyone, it's so great to be back after a few months off while travelling, and what a gorgeous couple of kits to be working with this month! I've been creating with the Emerson Main + Sprinkles kits and here's my first layout. I've layered some patterned paper pieces along with a section of glassine bag packaging as a matt for my photo.

The cork stickers are nice and flat, making them easy to layer also

Thanks for stopping by

Sunday Sketch with Wendy

Hello all, it's Wendy, and I'm ready to share up this week's Sunday Sketch to kick start your Fall vibes!

Here's my take on the Sunday Sketch....

Surprisingly, there is actually a nice Fall breeze here on the Gulf coast this morning.  So, I'm soaking it up as it's probably only momentary as we are still in the high 80's and low 90's around here, yeah, in November.  So, not quite time for boots, leggings, sweaters and hot chocolate.  We are still hanging in shorts and sandals but I'm seriously feeling some Fall vibes of change.

I was in the New England area of Connecticut for work a couple of weeks ago and had the pleasure to enjoy REAL Fall temps (along with a sprinkling of winter temps of snow included one day, yikes).  There was the chill in the air, the GORGEOUS changing colors of trees and beauty all around while driving in the rural parts of the state.  I truly enjoyed a few days after the work day to soak it all in and snap a few pics.  New England, you represent Fall on all levels.

I felt my summer was a bit sluggish and with a few minor adjustments on the home front (i.e. a new doggie and adjusting out with her on the turf since the Spring has been a major shift in my creative time).

Personally, for me the Fall season brings a season of reflection, a season to re-evaluate my vision and goals for the rest of the year, and overall, to be thankful for all that I have in life.   Fall has me recharging, a fresh boost to restart, and resetting my batteries. Ha!

For my project, I used ephemera, papers, and stamps from the November 2016 Main and November 2016 Add-On Kits along with past kits and stamps from Citrus Twist Kits.

To play along with this week's challenge, create a layout inspired by the sketch, upload it to the Citrus Twist Kits Gallery with today's date (11/6) in the title, and you might win a $5 gift certificate to the CTK store.  Easy peasy, eh!?
