Bonita Rose | Using My June Grace Box In My Journal

HI everyone!
It's Bonita Rose here and today I'm sharing with you
how I'm using my Grace Box inside my writing journal.

I'm one of those people.. that loves journals, anyone else?
Sometimes, I just can't pass by a pretty journal,
even though I have a few empty ones already here at home.
Anyone else?
I digress.

On this day, I found myself praying this morning, and really sharing my heart
with God about the events here in my home state of Florida over this past weekend.
You see, I live only about 10 mins outside of Orlando.
Here, it really hits home.

I wanted to show you all how your Grace Box contents
don't just have to be used in your Bibles, or your faith journals.
They can be used in just simple writing journals too!

Here, I used some of the stamps, the word stickers, a puffy 'Everyday' sticker,
and a journaling card from the June Grace Box.

Then I just shared my heart.

My journaling reads:

With the grace of God, I know we can all get through the hurt.
The pain. The injustice of so many lives lost.
Through it all - God Reigns.

Ever since all these people died over the weekend,
my heart has been with the families. The ones left behind.
Comfort them Lord.
Help them to live out loud for You.

To shine Your forgiveness.
One thing I know --
Your love surrounds me
And it's Your love that will surround these families left behind.
Help us all Jesus -- to love one another more.

To be still and know - that it's living our lives as You did
that will change our world.

Lord help us.
Shine bright in our lives.
Shine bright.

Pocket Life Sketch Friday

Hello everyone! It's Mira here today with Pocket Life Friday.
I have two May pages to share - both created with June PL and Sprinkles Kits. And You know what? On the right page there is my veeeery first Citrus Twist Kits DT Package documented ;) Take a look:

It was also the week with International Day of Families (May 15th). I don't know if this is an international initiative but here in Poland some of the companies allow people to come home 2 hours earlier to spend some time together with their family. We did that for the very first time! There is even more: my hubby came home 4 hours earlier (it's unbelieveable because he's a real worcaholic)! I love having that fact included in my album!

Here are more details:

And here are your PL sketches for the week!

With my interpretations:

Thanks for visiting Pocket Life Friday, where every week we share PL sketches and a chance to win a piece of weekly fun mail. For your chance to win, create a layout based on the sketches in this blog post, post your layout to our Gallery or our Facebook Fan Page by Friday, June 26th. Be sure to include PL 6/19 in your title!

Kisses,
Mira

Let's get digital: Free digital cut file from Mira

It's time for our monthly free digital file. To download the file(s), request to join our Fan Page over at Citrus Twist Kits (Citrus Twist Kits Fan Page) on Facebook.

Here's this month cutting file design:

And our inspiration:

I prepared 6x8 PL spread with the design as a big title on the left side. Simply cut each part of the design separately from the white cardstock and stitched to the picture. Added a little CTK wood heart (coming from June PL Kit) and a few golden sequins (from June Sprinkles Kit) and voila! Simple and beautiful.
To maintain the balance on my whole spread - I added a bit more details on the right side and decided to stay focused on golden accents
I love the confetti effect in PL albums, so I picked some golden and wooden pieces from PL and Sprinkles Kits {gorgeous-don't-you-think?} and filled three pockets with these! I didn't want this page to be too overwhelming so I put the plain pictures into the two pockets that were left, and this was it! Shining ready! I hope You like it!

Here are some close-ups:

Thanks for visiting our Let's Get Digital monthly blog post.
Hugs,
Mira

Sunday Sketch

Hello ladies! Maren here again and today I am sharing with you my take on this week's sketch. It was a bit of a challenge for me because I mostly don't scrap with more than one photo, but with this sketch an idea came to my mind instantly! Here's a look at the sketch:

  Untitled.

I usually scrap in 8x11, but most of the time I find it easy to translate a sketch into this format. Here is my take on the sketch that I made using the June "Sweet Thing" Main Kit:

It was fun making a LO with four photos and I hope you like my little piece of inspiration! And remember, if you choose to play along with this week's Sunday Sketch, by uploading your project to our Gallery you will make yourself eligible to win a $5 Gift Certificate to use at the CTK Store! Please make sure to include the sketch date in the title of your project when uploading. Looking forward to seeing your take on this week's Sunday Sketch!

June Guest Designer

Happy first day of June everyone! Today we would like to the take the time to introduce you to our June Guest Designer! Say hello to Maren!

Untitled

Hello! My name is Maren. I'm a thirtysomething from Germany and I will be guest designing for Citrus Twist this month.  I started scrapbooking just a bit over a year ago, out of sheer boredom initially, bit I truly fell in love with this beautiful hobby very quickly. This year I am focusing on Project Life, but still doing traditional layouts. I'm a media designer and photographer by profession. I love traveling, coffee, cameras, paper, and French Bulldogs.  I listen to 80's and 90' music and my favorite TV show is Grimm and Bones. So much for randomness!

Maren has provided us with some beautiful photographs for her scrapspace, but before we get to those, this is what she has to say about her crafty place:

I don't have a spare room at home for my hobbies, so I scrap in a cute little corner of my living room right beside the window with lots of natural light. I love it! My scrapbook stuff is scatttered literally all over my my apartment, but I have all of my embellishments, colors, and tools on my huge desk -I should get myself some shelves soon!

Time now for a little Q & A with Maren:

How long have you been scrapbooking and why did you start?

I started in March 2014 when I was staying with my Mum for several weeks after she had an accident and had injured her right arm. I took care of her and because I got bored soon, I started writing letters to my friends at home. I've always loved to write and to decorate my letters with stamps and beautiful paper. While searching for new interesting papers, I came across several 12x12 paper pads in a store and purchased them. At home I googled the brand and found out I had actually bought "scrapbooking paper." Some more googling about scrapbooking and I was hooked....

How would you describe your scrapbooking style?

I've always had a hard time describing or even seeing my own style. I am not even sure I have a distinct style, but if I do, its probably NOT clean and simple-although this has been my goal for a long time ;).  Primarily, I don't scrap to "document memories," but because I simply love to work with paper and photos. To me it's a form of art. That's why I like layouts/projects that have message/meaning and I like to work with complementary colors. So, maybe this is my "style."

What scrapbookers have influenced you the most?

It's difficult to name just a few among our huge and talented scrapbooking community which I find to by highly inspiring. I was and still am constantly influenced by so many stunning papercrafting works everyday just by browsing blogs and community websites.  When I just started scrapbooking, I learned a lot from Janna Werner. Today some of my favorite scrappers whose work inspire me a lot are Steffi Ried, Janine Langer, Tracy Armstrong, Stephanie Bryan, Michelle Wedertz, and Magdalena "Rockermorsan."

What is your favorite thing about kit clubs?

I'm a mix and match scrapbooker. I hardly ever use items from just one coll!ection because I would rather combine items that I like , no matter which company they come from. Kit clubs offer me a monthly pack of hand selected items. I find it challenging and very inspiring to work with whatever someone else has picked for me!

What are your five favorite scrapbooking items?

I can't seem to work without patterned paper, enamel dots, wood veneers, spray mist, and gold items.

How would you describe the Citrus Twist June Kit and what do you love the most about it?

It is a very fresh and summery kit, bright and happy. My favorites items were the ice cream cone paper, the flair badges, and the citrus wood veneer.

Now let's take a look at Maren's beautiful first project using the June Kit:
