Tuesday Tutorial with Cece

Hiya, friends! I’m here with a Tuesday Tutorial for you using this month’s GraceBox. I love all the elements that came in this month’s kit! Today, I’m working in the new Illustrating Bible.

First off, I used the Dina Wakely yellow acrylic paint and swiped it down using a paint card. I love this technique because it is the easiest way for me to get some paint or color down on my page, mess-free. 

Next, I added some washy tape in matching colors to give this page a bit of interest. 

Then I added the devotional card that came with the kit and clusters of Paige Taylor Evans whimsical floral die-cuts on the top and bottom corners of the page. 

Last, I added the gold puffy alpha stickers to write out the word HUMILITY and some words from the stamp set and filled in the empty spaces with the super cute puffy mini heart stickers to give it a finished look. Finally, I topped the page with a bow clip that matched the colors I used on this page.

3-to-Inspire with Cece

Hi, friends! Cece here with a 3-to-Inspire challenge for you! 

For today's challenge, I am using:

1. Acrylic Paint

2. Thicker Word Stickers

3. Alpha Stamps

Here's a page I made in my Bible using elements from the GraceBox kit. 

1. Acrylic Paint in blue and purple which I swiped down using a paint card. This technique is a great way to get a nice thin layer of paint down on your page and is great for when you don't have a whole lot of time to paint in your Bibles or projects.

2. I love this pack of Thicker Stickers with all the fun words! I used the words "a" that I took out from another word and "adventure" that I cut up in syllables to give it some interest and fill up more of the margin space.

3. This beautiful Citrus Twist Kits Alpha Stamp set in this lovely font I used to spell out the word "great" for "a great adventure".

And here is the finished page! I love how simple and beautiful it turned out!

Tuesday Tutorial with Cece

Hey, friends! Cece here with a Tuesday Tutorial for you all. Today, I'm sharing how this Bible journaling entry I did using the elements from this month's GraceBox came together.

First, I wanted to put some paint down on my page. The easiest way for me to get some color down was to use the paint card technique where I just put a bit of acrylic paint at the edge of my paint card and swiped the paint from left to right. I swiped down some light pink first in three different areas, then waited for it to dry before swiping down a sunny yellow color just below or above the pink.

Next, I fussy cut these florals from one of the patterned paper, used the Willow Lane alphas and "enough" die cut and placed them down to my liking.

Then I added the words "Christ is..." right above "more than enough." I knew I wanted to add more elements, so I placed some washy and layered them on top of each other on both the top and bottom and of the page. Then I took the Maggie Holmes Willow Lane Sparrow pattern paper and cut up the birds and placed them around the page and added some heart and cross die cuts to fill up some of the empty spaces.

Last, I added some lines to write down a short prayer and topped the page with the ribbon clips I made using the fabric strips that came in the kit.

3 To Inspire with Ashley

Hello, crafty friends! Ashley @magmagandme here today with a 3-to-Inspire challenge for you! This month's #gracebox is so colorful and packed with pieces, paper & stickers to play with.

For today's 3-to-Inspire, the categories are:

+ Background: use only the colors in the kit
+ Paper: Fussy cut something
+ Stamp it: use the stamps as a pattern

Here is my take on the challenge:
Revelations 5:9-12

 

The first thing I did was the background. 

Watercolors picked out to match the paper pieces I loved for this page.  

Stripe and splatter - my favorite patterns.

 

Then I fussy cut a floral burst & a few birds from the 12x12 papers included in the kit.

 It takes awhile but it is impactful in a project.

I lay everything out before I glue it down.

 

Then I added some die cuts that are in the gracebox kit.

I only used two stamps from the set - the little triangle and the word AWESOME. 

I liked how stamps add one more layer of interest. 

A few outlining shapes and dots here and there. 

 

Finally I added a date stamp & bowed up the fabric (in the kit too!) for the perfect topper. 

The colors in this kit truly have me hanging onto summer for dear life.

3-to-Inspire with Cece

Hello, friends! Cece here today with a 3-to-Inspire challenge for you! This month's #gracebox is super fun and has a load of goodies to create and play with.

For today's 3-to-Inspire, I will be creating with:

+ Pinkfresh Puffy White Alpha Stickers
+ Dina Wakely Media Turquoise Acrylic Paint
+ Citrus Kit White Cardstock Die Cuts

  

I am creating in my 100 Days of Bible Promises by Shanna Noel today and I'm working on Day 48. First, I scraped down some of this gorgeous turquoise acrylic paint using an old credit card. I love how smooth this paint is and how easy it was to put down. The scraping technique is an easy way to get some color on your page with very little mess.



Next, I put down some stamps and the puffy white alphas and wrote out -- "I'm still here with you. Forever and always by your side."



Last, I put down some of the die cuts to fill in some of the white spaces above the words.

GraceBox Creating with Ashley

 Hey everyone! Ashley @magmagandme here. Happy Thursday. Today I am pulling out my July GraceBox Kit & grabbing some old paints to have a gooey, creative time! The GraceBox included a 12x6 sticker sheet from IF - All people, All Nations - the colors and patterns are amazing - I primarily used them for this page in Isaiah. 

First, I started with some coordinating acrylic paints that I picked up for 50 cents at Walmart years ago. I used the super sophisticated painting technique of using my fingers. I find that it makes for a lighter touch and more natural paint smears than using a brush. A little here and a little there - perfect background for the fun stickers! TIP: If you find your page getting too crazy - just add a little white on top to tone it all down again.

 There is no right or wrong way to apply it - have fun.  

Then I added a layer of stamping from the GraceBox Stamp. It comes with 2 patterns this month - crosses and polka dots. PERFECT! I added them sporadically around the page. 

Then comes the stickers! Layer them, cluster them, throw in a strip of washi to make the sticker color pop. Again, there is no right or wrong way to do - whatever look good to the eye. Sometimes I want to hoard the cute stickers and not use them but my new years crafting resolution was to USE ALL THE THINGS ALL THE TIME - no holding back. If you have the subscription you can rest assured that another great box of supplies is coming net month - so use it! 

After I stickered, I outlined a few of them to help them pop against my busy background. The July Stamp has so many great one liners! Even though they don't all go with my featured verses - I just had to use them to show you how versatile they will be in your Bible Journaling. Sometimes I think my handwriting just doesn't cut it, so it's nice to have a stamp that can quickly give me that type look to enhance my page. 

Final step for this page was to hunt through my collection of clips. I love finding coordinating clippies that will top it off! I leave my Bible open on a counter and look at it for a few days until I can create again. It's a work of art and should be shown off! So add that accessory and make it beautiful!

Happy Monday friends! I'm here today sharing some inspiration using the June Cypress cut aparts (can you say yes for free??) with this month's GraceBox kit.


I'm in Ecclesiastes 3 and encouraged by God making everything beautiful in it's own time. Right now I am experiencing a season of slowing down, inviting myself to live light and saying yes to space. Sometimes it's hard to recognize when you need to reign back from good things, but I find it necessary to grow and learn.

I printed out the cut aparts and made a little cluster at the top of my journaling page. I didn't re-size the circles, but used my 1" circle punch. It was a perfect landing spot for the large sticker, "God is working on me".

I love the label with "slow down & lighten up" but it was a bit too big for my page. I cut down the label and created another cluster with my favorite cut apart piece - the pink speech bubble. I see myself using that over and over again! I used my 1" punch again for the striped circle.

The stamps add so much to any journaling page. I don't think I have found a Citrus Twist Kits stamp I didn't like.

It's a bittersweet day for me today since this will be my last post being on the Citrus Twist Kits team. I've had a pleasure creating for them for three years and have enjoyed every minute of it.

Tuesday Tutorial - Bible journaling with Rachel

Hey there it’s Rachel Lindas on the CTK blog today giving you a tutorial on my process for Bible Journaling.

In the May Gracebox kit we were given the Illustrated Faith Fruit of the Spirit Ephemera. The die cuts are personally one of my favorite supplies to work with in my Bible. They are the perfect size for my margins and it’s easy to just use one or later them in your margin. For this page I’m using Galatians 5:22-25 “The fruit of the Spirit...”

When I was reading through the verses the words in verse 25 really spoke to me. (If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.) I knew I wanted to highlight those words in my margin. Then as you will see I just began using the die cuts and layered the fruits in the margin as my base. I added the the text ( Keep in step with the Spirit) on top of the fruit. I then added paint strokes, some stamping, and finished with some paint splatters.

February GraceBox - LOVE

 Hi everyone, Ashley @magmagandme here! 

The February GraceBox is full of stickers, colors, stamps, a date stamper, 3D pieces, journal prompts and more! I tend to want to use everything and the kitchen sink. It is hard to choose the first pieces to give attention to. This month I decided to control myself! I narrowed right into these beautiful watercolored die cuts. They are BEAUTIFUL!  

 How fun is this original stamp set from Citrus Twist!? I punched out the tab for my page from the backing of the die cut package. Then I used the LOVELOVELOVE stamp. Perfect.

 I used my watercolors to add some splatter to match the die cut pieces.

 The Love with action is actually cut out from one of the journaling cards. I love the sentiment and had to add it into my Bible.  I finished off this page with a few of the enamel dots.

I loved this kit and loved the pieces that inspired another page in Ephesians!
