Memory Planner and Life Crafted with Patricia

 

Hello CTK Friends!  I'm joining you this Wednesday to share how I used the September Life Crafted kit in my new Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters Memory Planner.  I'm using the following NEW stamps:  Good Life, True Life, and the kit stamp 'The Best Part.  Also using these older CTK stamps:  Retro Hip Co Collaboration, Bailey Alphabet, 4x6 Outline and Solid Alpha. 

I first print my photos to about 1.75x2.50, 1.75x1.75.  Next I use the September digital journal cards to help me with my journaling and free up space for die cuts and stamping.

With the photos in place, I can frame around them with the die cuts and the stamps.  That framed digital journal card is perfect for adding journaling and a little stamping as well.

We had some exciting news about my daughter's ballet, so I printed the letter on photo paper to be the largest, to about 2.75x3.5, then continued framing with stamps and die cuts.

That 'freaking good' is from the kit stamp set, 'The Best Part.'  I LOVE that phrase!  I realized a typo, I'll fix that later, but again used the digital journal card to add my journaling.  This spread came together so quickly using the stamps, die cuts, and digital journal cards!

I have one more project to share in my Life Crafted album.  Every now and then I love to go bold with my backgrounds, and I did with this next project.

I shared this project on Instagram last week.  Here are the steps showing his this came together.

Tracing the stamps to make a mat for the stamped font/image is a great way to make a title and a title that stands out with clusters!  

The zig zag pattern I created with the stamps on the woodgrain pattern paper contrast to the background pattern paper with the repetitive words.

What helped too to make this work with the bold choices I have here are using two photos in the same size, and since they have a lot of red in them.  The blue and especially that bold yellow paper work because they are a contrast, a Triad, on the color wheel.  And the green or aqua pattern paper matting my stamped title are Complementary on the color wheel.

So take your red Target photos and use this same color principle to create balance, then add some of these fun stamping techniques.

Life Crafted inspiration with Marivi

Hello again, I hope you are well.

Today I bring you a little inspiration with two projects created with the May kit.

For the first one, I used a photo of the beach from a while ago, with two of the papers in the collection, I added two ephemera, some flowers and in the photo a pennant, I also stamped an arrow with a phrase that I placed exactly as came.

Here you can see that underlined in green the phrase so that it stands out and combines with the rest of the design.

As background I have cut a strip of paper that I have placed next to the other that continues to the other page.

I have colored the word beach with a marker.

On this page I have placed a card with the photo and I have sewn it.You can also see the bookmark, where I have written the date.

On a label I have stamped the title of the layout "relax". Underneath I have placed the thread that I have left over to sew.

I really like the little details, that's why the little sentences to fill in spaces is a resource that I usually use, as in this case.

To finish off a white lace, to add a different texture.I hope it inspires you and you like it, see you soon.

Sunday Sketch with Kira

 Hey there!  It's Kira and I am back with another Sunday Sketch!  I am using the February Life Crafted Kit and working in my Life Crafted album.  Here's a look at the sketch I am using today:

I have been starting every layout in this album with journaling, some of my journaling is a story I am telling to Folsom (my dog who passed away, and who the album is focused on), but a lot of my journaling is a letter to someone whom the story relates to.  In this layout, it is a letter to Hobbs, my dog that was a few years older than Folsom, who died a few years back.  I typed out the letter on white cardstock and cut down to 4.25x8.25. 

Then on the reverse page, I stuck fairly close to the sketch.  I had one photo of Folsom, sized at 3.5x3.5.  I used some patterened paper from the LC kit, and placed my photo tilted on the paper.  Instead of a label, I used the die cut bird as my embellishment. 

I used some more patterned paper as the bordered strips on the layout.  And I used some machine stitching to add some texture. I also brought some of the strips of paper to the journaling page, since I had about an 1" of white space at the bottom of the page. 

I wanted to include a photo of Hobbs dog to the layout, so I printed out a photo that would fit in the die cut frame.  Then I adhered that on top of a journaling card that I punched to fit in the LC album

Sunday Sketch with Kira

Hey there!  It's Kira and I am back with another Sunday Sketch!  Here's a look at the sketch I'll be working with today:

I am currently working in a Life Crafted album dedicated to my recently departed Folsom.  I had professional photos taken on him in 2012 and it's about time I got them printed and placed in an album with all the stories about him. I cut one photo down to about 2.5x3.5, then backed it with the teal leafy paper from the LC kit. 

I used a piece of washi and a paperclip from my stash to embellish the top of the photo, and a fabric die cut from the LC kit for the left side.  I attached the fabric die cut with some mini staples.  Then I placed some foam behind the photo.

I used the newsprint looking paper on each side of my layout, and adhered the photo to the right, just like the sketch.  On the left side, I created a pocket for my journaling.  I sized it to fit a journaling card from the LC kit, and embellished it with pieces from the die cut pack and puffy stickers.  I used a bit of ribbon from my stash to create a tab on the journaling card.

I finished off my layout by creating a small cluster at the top of the left page by fussy cutting out a leaf and adding a gold star and puffy sticker from the LC kit.

"Happy Moment", simple grid layout with Emma

Hi CTK friends!  Emma on the blog today with the a super simple little grid layout!  I am a big fan of grids when creating layouts; they're so easy to work with and help speed up the creative process for me.  And I have to confess that this would be the most basic little grid layout ever - because it's just one single grid line all the way down your page!  How easy right?! ;) 

Here's a look at my page:

I just adore all the Die-Cut Cardstock Ephemera included in the Life Crafted "Best of This Life" kit this month and I wanted to use so many of the fun pieces in my layout so lining them up in a single grid down the middle of my page meant I could include them all!

I used one of the 6x8 cardstock papers for my base (went with the neutral grid paper!) and I started by centering my photo on the page - then picked some of the bigger ephemera pieces and positioned them above/below the photo.  Once I had the placements set I added in few of the smaller pieces to fill in some of the "white space" left on my page.

I fixed all the ephemera pieces using double-sided tape but I added a bit of machine stitching to a few pieces for a bit of added texture (in coordinating cotton of course!).

This is just a fun little page about some of the paper pages I've created recently (I've been having a bit of with paints) so I used a few of the stamp sentiments as my journaling.  I used the This Is Life "Chasing Curiosities" Stamp and Life Crafted Travelers Notebook Stamp (and Life Crafted kit stamp of course!).

Then I popped a few of the Puffy Stickers with Cardstock Topping around my page (I love, love, love these exclusive puffy stickers) on top of the ephemera and finished my page off with a few of the Enamel Shape Stickers (are these not the cutest little stickers? Perfect size!).

I'm super happy how this page finished up and it was such a quick, easy one to put together - which is such a huge win with me at the moment (never seem to be enough hours in the day!). 

Although I think I love it mostly because of the fun colours included in this month's kit - it will be no surprise to anyone that knows me, that this is hands-down my most favourite Life Crafted kit yet.
