Sunday Sketch with Sheree

Hi everyone!

It’s Sheree here with you today to share a new Sunday Sketch Challenge!  It’s just the thing to get your Sunday off to a creative start don’t you think?  This is the sketch we’re working with today…

Here’s what I came up with…

I decided on a white cardstock background then chose some of the papers from the JanuaryScrapbooking Add-on Kit and the text paper from the “Fierce & Fabulous”Life Crafted Kit to layer together behind the photo.  I also added a piece of vellum from my stash and added machine stitching. The photo was then layered on top.

I typed up my journaling onto some plain white cardstock using my typewriter and tucked it under the side of the photo, then added some of the Add-on Kit floral die cuts and a ticket too.

For the title in the top left of the page, I combined the Life Crafted Kit fabric sticker and pink foam alphabet stickers with the Add-on Kit word stickers and die cut flower and the This Is Life “Fierce” Stamp Set to create a cluster.  I also added some machine stitching for additional texture.

I stayed with my clean, simple style leaving out the scattered embellishments that are diagonally across the sketch as I felt the cluster in the top left corner was enough for this layout.

You can watch my process in the video below...

Now it’s your turn to play!  I hope you’re inspired to jump right in and create with this new sketch!

I’ll see you again soon with a fresh, new project.  Enjoy your day!

Life Crafted with Marsha

Hey friends!  Marsha here today sharing a layout in my Life Crafted album.  I used the January "Fierce and Fabulous" kit and the Traveler's Notebook Stamp to create this spread.

Here's a look at my project:

This photo of my sons was taken last year at a family photo session, and I thought the colors in the kit this month worked perfectly with it.

To begin the spread, I resized and printed one of the digital 4x6 journaling cards to fit as a full page in the LC album.  I add the photo and stamped the date on a label from this month's printable cutaparts (free to subscribers).  I used an ephemera banner and some puffy stickers to embellish.

Next, I punched holes in three of the tassels from the kit ephemera and added some twine and staples.  I love how this adds a little bit of whimsy to the page!

For the other side of the spread, I used a Life Crafted Page Protector that has 2- 3x4 pockets.  For the first pocket, I used my favorite journaling card from the kit.  I love the little floral bouquet!  I trimmed a small strip of patterned paper, tore the edges, and stamped the word "details" using the Traveler's Notebook Stamp

For the other pocket, I used another journaling card from the kit.  I added some ephemera tickets, wrapping a bit of twine around one of them.  I also added some stamping using black ink and the TN Stamp Set.  I adhered the tickets to the page and added a staple and a heart puffy sticker.

Thank you for joining me today!  I hope this inspires you to add some pages to your Life Crafted album using this month's "Fierce and Fabulous" kit.

Pocket Traveler's Notebook Layout with Tina

Hello friends! It's Tina here today with you to share a new project using the beautiful January Life Crafted and Add-On Scrapbooking kits. I decided to create a layout about my cat Gandalf in the pocket traveler's notebook.

I started by trimming the photos of my cat to fit on the page, and then I adhered them to the right hand side of the spread to create a flip-up. After that I cut a mint pattern paper from the Life Crafted kit into two strips and glued them down on the both sides of the spread.

I really wanted to use the gorgeous gold glitter ephemera piece "fabulous" as a title, and as it was already consisted of two parts I adhered one of them on the photo and the other on the left hand side of the spread.

Next I simply made two ephemera clusters using the Add-On Kit, wrote down my journaling and added a few smaller embellishments here and there to add some dimension.

I really like how easy this project came together with the help of beautiful and inspiring products in the January Citrus Twist Kits. I hope you will share your creations with us on the Citrus Twist Kits Fan page on Facebook or on Instagram using the #citrustwistkits @citrustwistkits.

Thank you so much for stopping by! And happy crafting!

Life Crafted with Elizabeth

Hello friends.  I'm here to share a few pages in my Life Crafted Album using the "Fierce and Fabulous" Kit.  These photos are from a recent STAYCATION with my husband at one of our BEAUTIFUL, local resorts.

For the first page, I included a full-size photo to highlight the TALL palm trees with the pool and resort behind.  To let the photo take center stage, I embellished with a simple, but COLORFUL puffy sticker.

Next, I wanted to include a space for WORDS.  In a 3x4 page protector, I included a journaling card in the top; photo at the bottom.  The lighting inside the restaurant was poor so I changed my photo to black and white.  To embellish and bring consistency, I added a simple cluster with puffy stickers and a label.

On the opposite page, I repeated the same formula.  I included a journaling card in the top; photo at the bottom.  This time, I added a LOVELY flag that had the PERFECT sentiment AND repeated the heart in the journal card.

On the final page, I used a 2x2 page protector to HOLD circles.  As soon as I saw a page by @thevanblife, I knew I MUST try it.  I think it's such a FUN alternative to squares.

For the circles, I included a combination of photos, patterned paper AND journal cards.

On one circle, I added a sentiment combining stamps and the puffy alphabet.  I'm FOND of the color, texture and dimension.

I hope these pages provide some INSPIRATION.  Thanks Amy Jo for INSPIRING me.  HAPPY crafting.

XO, Elizabeth

3-to-inspire with Diane

Hi everyone, Diane here with another 3-to-inspire challenge for you! You can find this challenge here every Saturday for those who need a little extra creative push to get scrapbooking, to keep scrapbooking or for those who just like a challenge! Your take on this challenge can be a layout, Traveler's Notebook page or a pocket page spread in your Life Crafted and remember that you'll want to include all 3 prompts on your project.

Your prompts this week are:
  1. Create a rainbow
  2. Use border punches (or cut files, or distressing...)
  3. Stamp a title
Here’s my take on this challenge using the January Life Crafted kit ...

I started by creating two base pages for my Life Crafted album, both from white card stock sized at 5 x 8.25 inches. Then I choose 5 of the exclusive 6x8 papers to create my rainbow with. I'll admit, my interpretation of a rainbow is pretty loose, but I still love this colour scheme!

From each of the patterned papers, I cut strips that were 1 x 5 inches and then each strip got punched with my border punch. I carefully lined them up the page in rainbow order to make sure I had enough to cover the background (SPOILER: I did not have enough and had to cut more!). Once I knew I had the right number, I adhered them down.

I added my photo with a piece of craft foam for dimension and some vellum to tie in my journalling on the left hand page. Under my photo I added a label with the year stamped on it and a few puffy stickers for contrast.

I stamped my title using the Solid and Outline alpha stamp in 3 different colours. I stamped the outline in a darker shade and then filled in the letters with a lighter shade of the same colour. I then added a few smaller scraps of punched paper to the top and bottom to add some colour and tie the two pages together.

I stitched my journalling in place, as well as stitching around the edge of my layered page to secure all the strips firmly. And then I called my page done!

Here's a look at the process this spread took ...

Thanks for stopping by today and I'd love to see any page you create using this challenge so don't forget to tag me and share in the Citrus Twist Facebook Fan page!

Life Crafted with Sheree

Hi everyone!  I'm excited to be back on the blog with my first 2020 Citrus Twist Kits project using the gorgeous January kits.  I've used a combination of the Life Crafted Kit and the Scrapbooking Add-on Kit to create a spread to document what we did for New Year's Eve.

I chose the pretty yellow striped paper from the Scrapbooking Add-on Kit as the background for the first full-sized page, then used the text paper from the Life Crafted Kit to go behind the main photo.

I added the super cute Hooray flag to the top of the photo along with a gold glitter star at the top of the page.  These pieces from the Life Crafted ephemera pack were the perfect accents to suit the theme of my spread!

I chose two labels from the ephemera pack to go underneath the photos.  A phrase from the January 2020 Life Crafted Traveler's Notebook stamp set was stamped onto the yellow label.  Then I used the new CTK 3"x 4" Italic Upper/Lower Case Alphabet & Number stamps to add the title to the black label.  Some machine stitching added texture and another gold glitter star was adhered into place.

I typed up my journaling onto the digital version of the "more of this" journaling card, added stitching to the top and bottom, then a puffy heart sticker added a touch of yellow to finish it off.

For the second photo, I added the "Bravo" circular die cut piece from the ephemera pack along with another pretty gold glitter star.

You can see my process in the video below...

I hope you've enjoyed seeing how I put this spread together with the gorgeous January kits!  I look forward to sharing another project with you soon.

Until then...happy crafting!

3 to Inspire - Amy Jo Vanden Brink

Hello!  I'm so excited to be back with one of my favourite features, 3 to inspire!  Today I have selected some great pieces from the Life Crafted kit & the scrapbooking Add-On.

1. Labels

I chose some different types, label stickers, wood veneer and some blank labels to use on this spread.

2. Puffy Stickers

My favourite, easy way to up the impact of any pocket page spread.  I have the page from the kit and the pack from the Add-on here.

3. Small Ephemera

I grabbed some tickets and some of the fantastic fabric labels for my 3rd item.

I started by adding in my photos, and then finding some homes for my little bits and pieces.  The orange and pink combo ended up being really bright and vibrant, so the blue felt like it held everything down for me.  I don't love leaving larger patterned areas with no embellishment, so the ticket cluster and the two layered word stickers helped to fill some spots up for me.  I didn't end up with much journaling area, but it worked out ok.
I used some strips of white to anchor the number stickers down on top of my photos and make sure that they stood out.  The colors in those numbers were so amazing I wanted to make sure there was space to see them!
A few labels rounded out the spread.  I printed the bottom corner as a 4x6 and just did not cut them apart so that I could easily fill the pocket.  When I shoot mostly phone photos I forget to turn to horizontal sometimes!

You can watch how this spread came together in the following video:

Thanks for joining me today, I hope you feel inspired by this layout!
