Simple layout with Veera

Merry Christmas! I hope you are enjoying this holiday season with your loved ones!

It's Veera here today to share a quick and simple layout that you can put together in no time during this busy season. This layout has two main design elements: tags and white tulle. The inspiration for this layout came actually from the white tulle. As I wanted to show case that I picked the woodgrain pattern paper.

I stapled the tulle directly to the paper and covered the staples with bow stickers. For the tags, I just layered them next to each other with the picture to create a horizontal line.

With the tulle and tags, this layout didn't need that much embellishments so I just added some stickers and title + some Citrus Twist Kits exclusive cork embellishments that went so well together with the background.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Sunday Sketch with Anna

Merry Christmas Everyone! Anna here to share my layout using the December 24th sketch.
Today we have Christmas Eve and this is the day we are celebrating Christmas here in Sweden.
I know most of you probably have to wait until December 25 for your big day of celebrations. Or maybe thats a releif, one more day to get the last things done before Christmas, LOL!

Any way, let's look at our gorgeous sketch to play with.

Michelle Wedertz foto.

And here's my take on it using the December Bundle Up Add On Kit and Trinas absolutely stunning CTK FREE digital snowflake cut file. Love the blues together with a touch of gold, YUM!

I really like this photo of our son totally cought up by the ride in a cableway last December up in the Swedish moutains.

I didn't change to much from the sketch as you can see.

For making my background I've used a few different color mists using the "plasic bag" technique.
Love this way of adding inks to a page, you have sort of control yet get a pretty uncontrolled feeling, that's perfect, lol!

Some stitches, of course! That's almost a must for me on my layouts.

My second "must have" are the cotton undernetath my photos and/or embellies.

Well, I hope you've got some inspiration here today!
This sketch was really so much fun to work with :)

Now it's your turn! To play along with this week's Sunday Sketch Challenge, create a layout based off of today's sketch, upload it to the gallery with today's date (12/24) in the title, and you are in for a chance to win a $5 gift certificate to the CTK Store!

Until next time, take care! Hugs Anna xo

3 To Inspire with Jennie

Hey Friends! This is Jennie with today's 3 to Inspire!
My three prompts are:
1) Get inspired by the holidays.
2) Use pops of red.
3) Use handwriting. This one is my favorite. I love to see my mother and grandmother's handwriting and I'm sure my daughters would see mine. I also include my daughters' handwriting because they are still little and it keeps evolving.

For this post I chose to work on my December Daily. The Sonoma Pocket Life Kit has a few good bits that you can use on your December Daily. It also had good holiday colors like red, green and aqua. Inside the top right pocket I have a little magazine my Elf brought from the North Pole, This is the back of the magazine. Apparently Target is a big deal there too.

I love the balance in the journaling cards set. They have enough filler cards and enough journaling cards. The best thing about journaling cards is that a lot of them have lines which makes me feel better when I use my handwriting.

Of course I have to use the phrase "shenanigans afoot" when I talk about Charlotte! This day she wanted to go for a ride so the "going out" cork piece worked perfectly.

If you have a little gap on your December Daily you can document your holiday or season favorites! I'm not a big fan of Christmas Music but I like most of the songs from this CD so I decided to record it.

The puffy stickers from this month's kits are awesome! They come with lots of little sprinkles! I also used the stamp set on my date card.

I hope you enjoyed these little prompts. Show us what you've got at the Citrus Twist Kits Fan Page on Facebook!

Pocket Life challenge with Essie

Hey there, lovely ones!

It's Essie here with a Pocket Life challenge.

Week 42 was the third PL layout I'd made with my December kit.

I'd already used the papers and embellishments that immediately grabbed my attention, and was left with papers and journal cards that, while beautiful, were in colours and tones that I don't generally reach for.

But I challenged myself to make them work while staying true to my personal aesthetic.

And it turned into a layout that I really like!

Here's the process video:

So my challenge to you is to take a second or third pass at your kit, and pick out the elements you might have overlooked at first. You might be surprised at what you're able to create!

See you soon!

Create a page using a lot of one thing

Hi guys, Diane here, to show you how I created a very simple page in my Traveler's Notebook by using a lot of one thing, in this case – tags!

There are always SO many die cuts in a Citrus Twist exclusives pack, it really is easy to create a similar page to this one. Choose your element (tags, labels, banners, florals...) and then use as many as you can! The repetition of the same element very easily creates a cohesive focal point and design feature.

You can see exactly how I put this page together in this very quick process video...

I can't wait to see what you make using this technique!

Tuesday Tutorial with Jessy

Hello CTK friends! Back again with another Tuesday Tutorial featuring December GraceBox kit. And as always, I love how Trina mixed + matched the products to perfection. The colors are coordinated and so are everything else.

Let me walk you through with how I created the background on my bible page. Firstly, I chose 3 warmer tone for my colors - red, orange and yellow. I just gently stroked the oil pastels onto the page. Next, I used the water brush pen and apply some water onto the strokes. Slowly work my way to mix the colors together.

Once that is done, I added a little spread of gesso to tone down the colors. And continued with stamping the leaves all over the page. I left the middle part empty because I will be adhering a die-cut.

Next, I used the green oil pastel and filled the color into the leaves. I decided I need the red to pop out more and decided to create red strokes and blended with water.

Then, I worked my way by layering the die-cuts together. And added some red dots to form berries all over the page.

I hope you are inspired to create with the December kit. Do share your creations with us over at CTK Fan Facebook Page and also to tag over at CTK instagram + by using these tags : #citrustwistkits #ctkgracebox.

Thanks for coming by :)
Xoxo Jessy
